is this shit still alive? LOL thank god i was out with only 10% loss..

There are still updates so its alive.
What the team should do is buy all the tokens back and develop it further. Keeping the money to them until it gets the attention of interested users.

In previous posts we have discussed Dapp Development, Dapp Computation (Resource Billing System) and Dapp Consensus. Today we're going to look more closely at Master Nodes and Dapp Storage. But before we do, let's recap what we understand a Rise Dapp to be:

A Rise Dapp is a decentralized application that utilizes the Rise SDK and runs in a container on a Rise Node. It works with the Rise Node using the Rise consensus algorithm. With current web technologies (HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript) the developer is able to create a powerful UI. Dapps can use any technology that runs on Linux in their development of the server side of the application. Regular users can launch the Dapps on any Rise Client.

Dapp Master Nodes

Dapp master nodes are Rise nodes with an installed Dapp and with block generation enabled specifically for that Dapp. Dapp owners need to approve individual Rise accounts to be permitted to be a master node. The nodes process transactions and generate new blocks which are then secured by the Rise Blockchain, making them the core of the dapp system.

Dapp Storage

Dapp storage is handled by git repositories. When a Dapp is registered with the main network, it's master branch on the git repository is used whenever the Dapp is installed. Web hooks are available to push changes to all Rise Nodes that have the Dapps installed.

File Storage can be handled with local storage in the container utilizing docker volumes, or can use file storage systems on the web served by cloud providers.

haven't been here for long time....is dpos working? where is info... slack?

dead, dead, dead. This joke is really lucky for not being delisted in bittrex.

volume is dead everyday

The price seems dead, and the volume is too, I still can't understand why people invested this scam project with failed and delayed launch coin with 1700 BTC funding, were they panic investing because they saw waves, lisk huge ICO, and want to hunt for anohter big ico? Weird, weird!!

Got another one:

Remember when Rise introduced an inflation model after the ICO was finished? Not only that Rise token are worthless from the start, they get even more worthless due to unexpected inflation...

I knwo they still hold the tokens of dpos staking reward, they never shared the dpos staking right to community members, the project is officially dead, even community members seldom talk here.

Not exactly true, at the beginning of the mainnet there was a short time without genesis delegates - I could forge some coins as active delegate ..

regards

It was made clear from the very start of the ICO that Rise is a DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) based cryptocurrency just like Lisk. This means that new Rise tokens are forged every block to reward Delegate server nodes for securing the network and for processing transactions.

What is Delegated Proof of Stake?

Delegated Proof of Stake is a method for securing a cryptocurrency network, processing transactions and achieving a distributed consensus regarding the ownership of funds without the need for a central authority.

It is a variant of the Proof of Stake system, which itself was developed in order to reduce the cost and inefficient electricity usage associated with Proof of Work systems such as the one used by Bitcoin.

The difference between a regular PoS system and a DPoS system can be compared to the difference between direct democracy and representative democracy. In regular proof of stake every wallet which contains coins is able to ‘stake’ – which means to participate in process of validating transactions and forming the distributed consensus and to earn coins in return.  In a Delegated Proof of Stake system every wallet which contains coins is able to vote for delegates, and it is these delegates (101 in the Rise implementation) who perform the function of validating transactions and maintaining the blockchain and receive forged Rise tokens as an incentive.

Dev Update
Thank you all for the patience. We have learned a lot from this process, all of which we will share in a series of blog posts after we get all of this launched.

Translation: You have no choice but to wait cuz I have the ICO. It's our first time to copy and paste crypto code and we have learned a lot for our first time.

NO, NOT YET YOU WILL GO UNDER 1K TODAY..!!!  Grin Grin

Break even @ 960. Check order book. OMFG, this was the worst financial decision of my whole life...

Hang on to it don't look at the price for a couple of weeks at least.  It is bound to get pumped eventually given how much money was invested.

the fuck u r talking about? there are no dapps, no development. are you on that crack rock my son?

LOLZ MEMORIES!

Congrats on new codebase devs. Happy to see you going strong. new code = always good.

You know when there's so much fud without logical reasoning, it's active price suppression of people recognizing true value of a coin in future. These same people will suddenly switch to shills once they are done accumulating.

Hi

Rise has begun very ambitious.
Can someone give me a short review of the current status because I have not read for a long time here.

s0nix

Hi S0nix, in short, the most important aspect of the Rise project status is that it started out based on Lisk code as you probably remember but that this is no longer the case. The decision was made back in November 2016 for Rise to be based on its own unique code base, no longer dependent on Lisk code so the features and specifications the team envisioned can be realized in full.

Current status:

Architecture of Rise 2.0 is completed. (see updated White Paper on Github for all the details)
Architecture is now being fleshed out into 'user stories'. (see my earlier post about user stories). This process can be followed on Github.
User stories will be converted into actual code.
A proof of concept with 4 nodes was built for testing on the dev's private testnet. The test was successful.
Next goal:
The team is developing to get an Alpha Prototype of Rise 2.0 live for community testing (limited to 15 testers).
After testing and bug fixing a public Beta version will be released.
