That's actually genius, couldn't we now get it on bittrex and other exchanges as sandcoins instead since they didn't want a coin that was meant for gambling?

Introducing Sandcoins: An Alternatively Branded Casinocoin Wallet
The Casinocoin Foundation is proud to announce the release of an alternatively branded Casinocoin wallet named: "Caribbean Sandcoins".

This version of the wallet is being released at the request of a partner, who desired to utilize Casinocoins for an ecommerce/merchant application in a major Caribbean country outside the Bahamas. The main issue at hand was that the current gambling-branded wallet would not have been compliant with existing banking regulation in this particular country. In negotiation with this partner, the "Caribbean Sandcoin" name was chosen because it was considered generic, tropical themed, and conformed to the CSC designation.

With regard to this release, please be aware of the following:

  • The Sandcoin wallet uses a different config directory than the existing Casinocoin wallet
  • Both wallets can run simultaneously and independently on the same host
  • Wallets can be freely imported between both versions of the wallet
  • You can send coins freely from either wallet type to each other
  • Sandcoins can be sent to any exchange that currently trades Casinocoins
  • Sandcoins will have it's own website located at: http://sandcoins.com/
  • Casinocoin wallets and Sandcoin wallets operate on the same chain
  • The Sandcoin wallet will track the same casinocoin version numbers

Thats pretty interesting actually. Cryptos are an excellent currency to be used in casinos, just like the new "SandCoin" since the regulations aren't really there for them. If this goes bigger i can see many casinos from several countries doing the same. Helps to avoid so many rules and boundary's that are in place. Interestingly enough the news hasn't really affected the price at all but who knows maybe the response is delayed to bigger news.

Sounds like a plan, for the wrong blockchain? or is it just me that thinks this coins should totally not be used for anything else but the gambling industry?

We were just presented with a new possibility to have CSC used in a real life application. Using the same coinsupply for multiple purposes will only increase the value of the coin as it potentially increases the demand for it. It might also help introducing CSC to other exchanges that have issues with the 'other' brandname. I do not see a problem here, ... only new possibilities Wink and current coin holders are not losing any of their coin value because of this, it can only increase.

Everything was/is syncing properly. Old wallet was working fine as well. The only issue is the graphics do not appear.
Hi.
This all sounds to be more like QtQuick issue rather than anything permission-related. Good news is that i have just tried running Wallet installed via installer and it does not show Qml controls as well! (my machine is a virtual machine with win7) Bad news so far is that i dunno how to resolve the issue but stay tuned Wink
Ok seems we found the problem. Older machines or OS could cause the issue. We now use Qt Quick for all those nice GUI features but that causes the wallet to only work properly on OpenGL versions of 2.0 and above. See if you can upgrade your graphics driver as that solved the issue for others. You can use OpenGL Viewer to check your version http://download.cnet.com/OpenGL-Extensions-Viewer/3000-18487_4-34442.html

Did this issue ever get resolved? I just tried using CasinoCoin 2.0.1.0 (finally) in a brand new Windows 10 VM and it is missing the graphics. Sad

Have you checked your OpenGL version? As you are running your windows inside a VM you might be running into the same graphics driver issue .....

When the WalletServer and Mobile Clients are done (still planned for Q1) i will create a new lightweight desktop wallet that does not need to run its own blockchain based on the same WalletServer. I will make sure that client will run on all desktops including windows 10 and OSX. You will probabbly also able to import your current desktop wallets into the new mobile clients as the server uses the same wallet architecture.

This is an amazing addition to the CasinoCoin network, it completely aligns with your ambitions in the Caribbean!
I've got the wallet download and will do some moving of coins around to test the wallet in a few minutes!

Did you want to write something up for the front post or did you want me to take some bits and pieces from this post ?

Go ahead and add it. I don't have any specific text in mind, but feel free to borrow from the posting.

BTW, Andre noted that to run both clients side-by-side, yu'd need to change the port on one of them.

Cheers. Wink

BTW, The Sandcoins readme will be updated shortly. I had a problem with my primary mail on my github account, so now that this is fixed, I've asked Andre to re-invite me to the Sandcoin repo, so that I may update the readme.

The readme should be sorted out soon.

Cheers!

well February is running out. What is the current rate of CSC?

I want to know what will really happen for CSC since February is almost over and still no sign of new Prypto cards released for the public. I would have certainly bought some but now that this month is almost over, it makes me think whenever there was a delay in things for CSC. Anyways, trading activity is still not great for the coin but I hope all of this gets fixed real soon as I expect for it to keep up with its promises. I don't want to rush or anything but according to the Casinocoinsites.com it just says a message that it would be launching February 2016.  Sad

Is cryptopia still listing cryptsy orphans for a reduced cost?
Seems like  it was only $40 or so.
If dev would setup a fund I'd chip in $10....it needs to be him that takes the lead though.

I'd be willing to throw in some DOTs if dev is willing to take the lead as you propose.

I think (2nd attempt) at getting it on Yobit is priority. It's quite a popular exchange and works very well.

They replied me some time ago:
Dear User!

Support answer:

CasinoCoin has problems with rpc.
Market is off now.

Date: 08.02.2016 18:05

I asked them if the need any help, but no response.

Hmm it'd be nice if they responded with what they actually found wrong with our RPC since I haven't had any noticeable problems.

Casinocoin is coming up on our 3 year anniversary, any ideas of something we could do to celebrate?
Possibly the creation of a "organization/foundation" that will have many participants/admins so there is no one point of failure.

There is nothing wrong with it. I tried paying them to add it and they couldn't figure it out. Made multiple attempts to contact them for weeks and nothing. Their support is non-existent.

Another coin that I followed for years also lost Crypsty but got on Yobit and that helped it tremendously.

Getting on Bitt/Polo is much harder unless you have internal connections or pay a lot of BTC as downpayment.
I do agree that coin/community development is important but a nicer trading exchange definitely doesn't hurt.

my 2 CSC worth. Wink

There is nothing popular about YoBit. They do have some volume, that much is true. But most of it is ICO scams and pump/dump coins that miraculously all seem to find their way there. Also for most of the users there 0.1 BTC volume on a random coin means that it will be the new BTC and will soon "Moon".
Alcurex is fine for now, Polo would ofc be ideal but it is very hard to get accepted there.
