You will get 10% on your Onions in year 1. If you hold a small amount of Onions (e.g.<100), you will not see stakes very often and they are going to be small.

It's hard to say how much you exactly need to hit a stake in a reasonable amount of time, but you probably need a thousand onions at least.

Your current weight is definitely very low. I don't think I have hit any stakes while below 30k-40k network weight. You can use the console in the wallet to get a very rough estimate for how long you will have to wait until your next stake. That's not very reliable though, as the total network weight keeps changing a lot.
