SegWit upgrade started.

DeepOnion Wallet 2.2. Released (You must upgrade now!)

From 18th December wallets that are not 2.2+ (Protocol version less than 80017) will start being rejected from the network.

From the 25th December we will start generating blocks with a segwit merkle root, these blocks will be rejected by nodes with a protocol version less than 80017.

1st January 2021 Segwit will activate and will become confirmed 60 blocks later confirming the fork has completed.

We are coming close for SegWit fork to happen.

not great, not terrible. this kind of issue can be solved faster than instantly.

wallet update is pretty simple for the ordinary user and exchanges even have more qualified staff.

Some sleep through the future because they care too little about important things.
One day they will wake up and realise that they are on a fork. I can already see the cry for help topics in DO Forum...

Only exchange that is decent and potentially open for DeepOnion is KuCoin, nothing else matters, rest are shit exchanges where nobody who is not naive will transfer bigger chunks of money. But given how devs were willing to go around the ''issue'' of involving themselves with registration process (because they want to remain anonymous) by using some random user from their forum as proxy, I say chances for relisting are low.

What happened to deep onion? Lol. I remember it thriving and whinning like a happy horse, and now all of a sudden its dead. Who could guess. Probably selling off what u got as fast as possible is the best decision to be made. I dont see a lot of opportunities on the table with this coin. Maybe its just dark sentiment that makes us preach gloomy shit but I more and more tend to think that this indeed is the end.

SegWit is coming in about 3 days. After 3 days you should be able to see new type of wallet address activated in your wallets.
Make sure before day date use newest 2.2 wallet and/or upcoming versions. Currently all exchanges/block explorers/ mining pools we reached confirmed about upgrade.

DeepOnion Current PoW block reward is 1 ONION for miners. Different from BitCoin blockchain DeepOnion block rewards halve happens not each 4 years but every years.
So next year will be 0.5 ONION After next year will be 0.25 ONION and 3rd year 0.125 ONION and so on basically at some point DeepOnion going to be fully PoS coin.
