Multan Sultan vs Lahore Qalanders

First match of this eight edition of HBL PSL will play tonight against the two giants according to Pakistani time 8:00pm. Both team has strong batting and bowling lineup , defending champion Lahore Qalanders look very settle because they have one of the best bowling attack like 🦅 Shaheen shah Afridi , Haris Rauf, Rashid Khan, sikander Raza, and also strong batter like fakhar zaman and young British diamond harrey brook.
While other hand Multan look good in batting rather than bowling just like Qalanders have, multan have Mr 360 M.Rizwan, hitting guns Pollard, tim David, and David miller. So both team look balanced now let see tonight how defending champion bowling attack can stop the Multan six machines batter.

Pakistan has suffered alot economically and politically in last year and have gone through and is going through tough time. Still psl is happening that's a great achievement for them,  a positive thing for Pakistan cricket fans and this will help them to watch some fun and entertaining games.
Psl has got a big viewership because of population and fan following.

At least something positive happening for the Pakistan cricket even things are not solid like we have in other leagues due to security reasons but they are still going to play 8th edition of PSL after few days and few foreign players also will be involving in this which is not bad at all with this all they are currently considered in top five leagues which is also good.

If Pakistan is having some better economical and political stability then surely this league can go above up to second spot after IPL because after India, Pakistan is second populated country in cricketing world with 220 Million population, and they have good fan-base in the Middle East and UK which is helpful for having good viewership for this league, yeah hopefully things could be better in the near future.

The eight season of PSL is scheduled for 13th February with the match between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. The league have grown in a slow and steady way. Compared to the old days, slowly PSL is getting visibility around and people away from Pakistan too begun to watch it. PSL authorities have done good scheduling before the IPL which is good than mixing up between leagues same as that happened recently with BBL, BPL and SA20

First of all, this is a very good start by the UmerIdress I think still some days are left in the start of PSL S8 and I am pretty excited for the PSL simple reason I am disconnect from cricket for a long time but I think PSL is worth watching. The friendly match rumors and news were so great as 6 Sixes by the Iftkhar chacha was incredible. Rest of the discussion i think thread will be more active once season starts.

There are limitations for the TV channels and OTT platforms in Pakistan in earning revenue from cricket broadcast. Because there are so many regulations and content sharing requisites. I assume that a large share of the revenue comes from countries such as the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, as they have very large Pakistani diaspora communities. But the momentum that was gained from last edition (PSL 2022) should be maintained. I am concerned because of two factors - 1. economic situation in Pakistan is not good 2. security situation has worsened over the last few months.

Ground realities are completely different from things which are happening on media mostly peoples still living better life even due to mismanagement few difficulties are happening but still situation is under control and mostly peoples will enjoy this season as they were doing in previous editions and officially PCB never encourage any betting with this all is not related to them and I check many fiat and crypto related sports betting sites are offering their services without any problem those are having account on these sites can enjoy this all which could be normal as we have in many other sporting events around the world.
 
But, here I want to ask @UmerIdrees OP of this thread please add some links related to more information about previous editions because many members are not aware about previous winners, and they want to check stats even this all is easy by google but still if he adds here this could be more helpful for community.

Yes, Pakistan nation is a big fan of cricket and we usually see jam-packed stadiums in previous versions of PSL and same is expected in this season. Its always nice to see matches in full crowded stadiums as it makes the match viewing more enjoyable.

However, when you say, the currency issue what exactly are you referring to ? Bear in mind, that tickets and all other stuff is being done with fiat money and no bitcoin crypto is involved in PSL. Yeah betting may be done in crypto on these matches but that's all underground and not done publicly.

The popularity and viewership of psl will be maximum in Pakistan as everyone watches psl and the revenue interns of game and media rights will be good . But yes we'll see hoe the currency issue will effect the revenues in long term.

I think many people are waiting for the start of Pakistan Super League in Pakistan. Because I am looking forward to enjoy a different game in Pakistan. But we have to wait for some more days. I have seen some new rules this time.  But this time Pakistan Super League will be a different game I think.

Pakistan has population of 220 million who are crazy for cricket. So it was very much expected that PSL will be a super hit in there own country. There is no major change in PSL 8 as we have still 6 teams playing. It will be too early to say how much profit PSL 8 will generate but my rough guess is it will earn atleast what they earned last year.
In India, Sony Pictures (SPNI) has got media and OTT rights for PSL broadcast till 2023.

Well.. it will rank among the top-5 franchise T20 leagues currently, despite stiff competition. The last edition witnessed massive upsurge in terms of viewership (PSL 7 or the 2022 edition). It was estimated that 73% of the Pakistanis with a TV set at home watched the PSL last year (144 million people).  According to Rameez Raja, for PSL7 the profits were 71% higher compared to the previous edition, and each of the franchises earned around PKR 900 million as average revues. I am not sure about this edition (PSL8), because the Pakistani Rupee has got devalued and the country is going through a financial crisis.

Pakistan's most popular T20 league Pakistan Super League is going to start this year like every year. Pakistan is going to play the 8th edition after completing 7 editions of this T20 league. Their T20 league is going to start from next 13th and this league will continue till next 19th March. PSL 2023 is going to start with 6 teams as per previous pattern. Where Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars are participating in the first match, the match will be held at Multan Cricket Stadium. This year also they will create a big hype in the cricket world. This tournament will be broadcasted by the reputed broadcasters so the cricketing world will get to watch it from all over the world.

The eighth season of Pakistan Super League PSL will be held from February 13. Pakistan Cricket Board has already taken many programs around PSL. But this time Shahid Afridi has given some new conditions of PSL for every Pakistani players. He said that this time in PSL those whose strike rate will be below 130 will not be selected for T20 national team. I think his initiative will make their T20 cricket more efficient and stronger.

So in India, the matches will be telecasted live by SONY? Online streaming would be available in SONY LIV and the TV broadcast will be on SONY Sports HD. I would prefer SONY over Disney-Star, because the quality is much better. BTW, I liked the schedule. They are moving the league to February-March window, which will avoid clashes with other leagues such as the BBL, BPL, ILT20 and the SA20. And despite tough competition from the other franchise leagues, PSL has managed to sign up quality overseas players, including David Wiese, Rashid Khan, Sherfane Rutherford and Jason Roy.

There is no doubt that Pakistan is a cricket-loving country.Currently, they organize franchise leagues in most of the countries where the game of cricket is prevalent in the world.Similarly, a league under the Pakistan Cricket Board is the (PSL) Pakistan Super League.

The first season of PSL has been held since 2016. Tournament format double round-robin and Playoffs.
