they don't believe in bitcoin so they don't have a sense to know bitcoin more deeply
This is what mostly happened, people don't believe in Bitcoin because they heard only FUDs about Bitcoin. So, finally they are worried and not interested to buy Bitcoin as a digital asset. We must help them to know the truth about Bitcoin, explaining to them the advantages of being Bitcoin holders. Tell them how to invest properly in Bitcoin and some true successful history about Bitcoin holders. This good information may lead them to trust a bit and gradually interested in buying Bitcoin.

Where do you guys live? In the US, I would say 95% of people have already heard about bitcoin. Many of them might not have an in-depth knowledge of it or invest in it, but they have at least heard of it before. Particularly earlier in the year during the Elon pump, even going to local restaurant, there would always be at least one table talking about bitcoin or doge.

There are many people who still don't know about bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. I don't know about others I am talking about my country and about my society. Whenever I ask from people about or talk about the Bitcoin. They ask what is this?

How much there is who face this problem?
people right now have a curiosity crisis
around me, there are really many people who don't know and doesn't want to know about Bitcoin even though they work in IT companies

Bitcoin is only for those who have a "growth mindset" while those who are not interested in Bitcoin are just a "fixed mindset"
your mouth will be tired of explaining to them what Bitcoin is when their conscience is not interested in Bitcoin at all
they don't want to know maybe they have their own reasons maybe they don't believe in bitcoin so they don't have a sense to know bitcoin more deeply, or they are too busy with their daily work so knowing bitcoin for them is just a waste of time.

In my country also many who do not know bitcoin. But I still explain as best I can. They mostly still don't trust bitcoin and blockchain technology. I'm sure there are still many who are not familiar with bitcoin. I also believe that one day bitcoin will be more accepted and more popular.

If you want people to listen to you then change the way you present or say something if it didn't work in the start.
"How you say something matters more than what you say" that's human psychology.

I wouldn't go into details because it's very easy to exploit people if you pull their right strings, everyone can be exploited including me (which I wouldn't recommend and is morally wrong)

Tell those people - Future is cashless, You don't need to rely on Bank's network to make a bitcoin transaction, You don't need a bank to store Bitcoin, Bitcoins are stored on your computer or ledger wallet ~~Explains ledger wallet~~

Tell them honestly how volatile the bitcoin marketplace is if they're here to make a quick buck after being new then they'll most likely be a victim of a Ponzi or lose their money trading on 10x leverage on the trading exchange because it's tempting to trade bitcoin and people who're new into this space most of the time are victims of Hype.

I think almost everyone knows bitcoin in layman's terms only as an investment, but we need to actively explain more details about bitcoin knowledge, we are glad that some people have responded well and many people have asked about bitcoin since it reached ATH last April.
Well, in my own not everyone knows bitcoin especially those people who can not afford internet to their place, they are not oriented to the technology that bitcoin has. I don't know if how much the percentage of people that has access to the internet but maybe only a few of them. But perhaps from time to time bitcoin will always well be known because it will create a trend when there were always an ATH and those early generations will most likely more involve in the technology like having a mobile phone.
on which planet do you live I have never heard of in this era there is no internet even in remote areas there is an internet network I am sure this is just your engineering, talking about bitcoin everyone already knows even though they are not very familiar with bitcoin but bitcoin is no stranger to the wider community unless you live in the forest and you don't have an internet network like early humans.

No doubts there are so many people around the world who haven't heard of bitcoin, many people find the word bitcoin so strange but it's just a matter of time bitcoin will be known as it's good news will keep spreading across countries. We can clearly see it that bitcoin popularity is growing with time, some individuals who didn't know about bitcoin are now crypto enthusiasts so what is required is just time bitcoin popularity will keep growing.
very sure of that, that it didn't take long to be able to introduce bitcoin because bad and good news about bitcoin was always seen on the news, maybe even a lot circulating on social media. those who don't know can be sure that they will always be interested to find out from social media and others, to find out and do something if they think that bitcoin is very profitable. so if it's profitable, it's not wrong, it will spread individual quickly bitcoin will be better known as well .

There would always be those that would be ignorant on some developments or world innovations until they come to a general acceptance. Cryptocurrencies would always be strange to some person and bitcoin most of all because, its a developing niche of it's own and isn't a generally accepted one most of all and as such, there is a limit to the extent its advertisement can go not minding technological limits as those in the rural areas can't afford this basic needs of life.
Also, urban dwellers too. Some persons might be familiar with the team and if you ask them what is bitcoin, they could only stop at 'Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency' and that's all. It tells you to what extent people have refused to be curious about what is trending in there society that has little or no effect on them. It never becomes a thing until it has some effects and to that fact, people would always be ignorant.

Use the pandemic Covid-19 for an example. Its only been about a year and almost the whole word with exception of some tribes that remains unexplored or accessed not to know of the pandemic mean while, bitcoin has been around for some 11years yet, a lot of the world population are ignorant of the term and its niche.

~snip~ we can probably make a difference because information is enough to make them curious.
Like my country, although from the data I have obtained the development of internet users is increasing, not all of them feel the internet. Even getting electricity in some areas is difficult. But ever since the price of BTC went up so much I saw that on some social media people have dared to appear, even though they seem to be just showing off their results. A lot of money and pride. Maybe people have heard a lot but to learn maybe only 1:100 are interested. Many people do not want to understand and choose another job.

The crypto world within the next 5 years could be great!
I would love to know the technological advances that we will have, new dapps, mobile wallets and others. As well as the improvements in the use of bitcoin mining that have been so much questioned. What is mentioned in this thread about people's little knowledge of bitcoin is important. If we join forces to invite our family and friends to crypto technology, we will be more.

Before 2015 I don't recall hearing the word "Bitcoin" or "blockchain" in real life nor in forums that I frequently visited nor in video games and social media. From 2015 to summer 2017, those terms were rarely used and few members of the family and friends heard about it from me but not really involved. By winter 2017 and the hype following ATH more and more people were talking about it, yet still limited. Now by 2020 and the new ATH, I see so many people involved in cryptocurrencies in general, holding many coins, few are trying to mine, some forums created subs dedicated for cryptocurrencies. I won't deny the influence of famous people like Musk but for sure they showed up after Bitcoin already had a solid base.
I would like to imagine how the crypto world will be after 5 years from now!

Is Bitcoin popular? I'd say yes. But relative to the population of people who haven't heard about. No, bitcoin isn't has popular as it should be.
Quite a number of the world's populace have heard about it but not so many know what Bitcoin really is. You'd be shocked by what have heard about it.
some think it's just one of our days illegal means of earning. Some say it's for the young unserious individual😆.

There's totally nothing weird about the fact a large number of today's population don't know about Bitcoin. Majority of them still struggle with the genuity of what the  internet is and what it can do.

a simple example like this, in this world there are so many countries and of all the countries in this world there are still many that people don't know even though there are still some countries that maybe I don't know the name of the country.
it is the same with bitcoin. this world is too wide and for the size of bitcoin people still know or not the answer is of course many people know, but not everyone has to know because basically from everyone in all corners of the world they even don't care about this.
everything has its scope and there is no need to force other people to know about bitcoin because not necessarily other people care about this, besides that there are several factors that make them not aware of it such as prohibitions from government regulations and in this part of the world not all countries have access adequate internet.

That's right, almost everyone knows bitcoin, it's just that they still don't know the details and when bitcoin hit the high price yesterday there were a lot of advertisements and bitcoin news circulating on social media and so on.
it just takes a process for them as a whole to know in detail and if we see bitcoin users grow and develop like in the area around me which used to be only a few people now have spread and many are using it, and most of them are millennials.
and besides that to get to know bitcoin further, they can look for it on the internet and so on which makes it easier for them to know, learn and do.

Bitcoin is very familiar to everyone's audience and many public media have reported on bitcoin in general, but concerns for beginners in bitcoin investment that they are not ready to risk losses and rush to take action to exchange them for fiat, we need to invite them to join in crypto community.

For layman , investment may mean to buy bitcoin and keep it save.
This is also a profitable thing to do but most of the experienced person try to trade bitcoin in order to accumulate more bitcoin.

There are several differences between being aware of cryptocurrency and using it. Some people around us have heard of other cryptocurrency names including Bitcoin on various social media such as Twitter, Facebook, or online but most of them don't know much about it. Especially when the news of the ban on Bitcoin is spread through various news outlets, many people just listen to it but are not interested in knowing or using it. However, it is gaining popularity among the interested parties and the number of its users is gradually increasing. The positive aspects of cryptocurrency are that people will be more interested in cryptocurrency and its use will be more widespread.
