Did I already ask for a turbo-kernel, tweak, trick or whatever you want to call it to take advantage of the fact that the memory size of a 8gb card is 3 times the DAG file of the Ethereum Classic dag?

we wont have smart access memory like the new 6800 cards but there must be a possible advantage of that huge free vram.

Same for Ubiq coin or all other ethash coins that use little dag files.

some kind of ramdisk or device-splitting would be nice.....maybe impossible to realize, but I wanted to ask Wink

hi, pls help,

how to use PhoenixMiner command in ethOS  Huh

i try "-daglim 3990" on ethos local config, but not working, my rx 570 4GB still not mining ...

There's no need to do anything in Linux. I use hiveOS for my 4GB cards and they mine at full speed. Even better than before due to rxboost...

On ethos there is no need for that just set your miner to phoenixminer.
Use miner-manager (link is on your rig monitor page for your miners).
Install miner-manager then you can easily install latest version.  My 570 4gbs are all mining away on eth still.

Just saw your post, I get it that you were using stock bios cards with Claymore and applying straps and rxboost to increase the hashrate. AFAIK Phoenix miner currently does not support "straps" for RX580 (all polaris) cards, so you'll have to bios mod these cards manually (using 1 click bios mods or any other tools) and then try using the overdriventool settings and then you'll get similar hash rates on RX580s.

I flashed the cards with a new BIOS and I now get 31.2 Mh/s on the RX580.
Thanks for the Steer on not using Straps!

Seems to be mining fine at the moment after I tweaked the clocks a little. One thing I did find though is that if PhoenixMiner hash rate on any card goes to 0Mh/s (due to too much overclocking), when it restarts, it can't seem to do anything with the card. It connects and 'sees' the card but it is ignored from the autotune and restarts at 0MH/s. The only way round I found was to reflash the card BIOS...very strange. Is that normal? Or is there some other way to tell PhoenixMiner to forget it had an issue with the card previously and to start from scratch again?

Very pleased that there's an alternative to Claymore and, it seems more stable (apart from the issue mentioned above).

Hi,

I try to mine with my old R9 290 with 4GB but the result it's so poor:

my .bat file:

2020.12.04:13:25:41.047: main Eth: Effective speed: 0.00 MH/s; at pool: 0.00 MH/s

I have also a RX 580 thats works correctly but i'm not capable to share his DAG file for the R9 290 so i try to do in 2 shells so separately.

Can you help me please?

Sorry for mi english level xD

I guess the best solution for you would be to mine another coin or switch to linux but there are more less 2 weeks left for mining ETH with 4GB cards and as far as I remember the hashrate on 290s was low even with 3.8GB DAG.

Is not possible to mine as Claymore? I mine with Claymore with both cards an only a DAG file in the RX 580

I could use some guidance please.

I downloaded the new PM 5.3b to mine ETC again with some of my AMD 470 4gb cards. I have a test rig up with Win10 and 20.4.2 drivers installed. I have two cards that are the same except one is 8Gb and the other 4Gb. The 8gb card works fine of course, however, the 4Gb card only finds invalid shares.

https://imgur.com/jZELw2P

Not sure if my image will show up or not but I tried to embed an image.

Any ideas why the 4Gb card only finds invalid shares? I even dropped the mem clocks on the 4Gb card and added more power to see if that would help and it did not. I am about to install SMOS to see if that helps, but would really like to run Win10 if possible.

Just installed PM with SMOS and it is doing the same thing.

Anyone willing to take a guess?

lower the memory to 1900 or even less and try again on win10
rx470 4GB has elpidia memory?

Hello everyone Smiley

My rig is 6x XFX RX 580 8gb

I mined 3 years on WIN10 with Claymore. On Claymore 14 and earliers one card in my rig always went slower - few mh/s. With Claymore 15 the problem disappeared. I mined beautiful 31,7 on every card . Now i switched to Phoenix Miner from obvious reasons. Max what i can get is 31,3 per card but again one card is slower then the rest about 6 mh/s. What can cause the problem? I switched to newest amd drivers and now when Phoenix starts i get  "Unknown OpenCL Driver version". But the hashrates are as earlier - 31,3 - 5 cards and one around 25.

Also phoenix pauses after some time of mining - 1 hour, 2 hours up to 5h. The last command shown then is PAUSE. WTF, im so new to this soft. Please mining brothers help me Smiley

This is my cfg (important part)

-epsw x -mode 1 -coin eth  -esm 0 -estale 1 -asm 1 -cclock 1150 -cvddc 900 -mclock 2190 -mvddc 850  -tstop 80 -tt 1-5:65,6:62 -fanmax 100 -rxboost 30 -straps 2
try to skip somme, he?
I`m using same brand and my line for tuning is: -cclock 1100 -cvddc 750 -mclock 2050 -tt 65 -ttli 73 -rxboost 1 -gt 0
thats for my favorit MICRON memory, for samsung and hynix it`s just -cvddc 850
all gives 30.4 and takes ~120W from the wall

Phoenix,

Just an update on this issue:  v5.3b seems to be moving in the right direction - all of my GPUs mine, now, but they each see about 18MH less hashrate on v5.3b versus what I still get on v5.0e.  Again, with this version, downgrading to v5.0e resolves the issue without rebooting.  If it's helpful, the starting hashrate for v5.3b during autotuning is only about half of what it is in v5.0e.  I hope this helps.

I wanted to report an issue I ran into on v5.2e for mixed-gen ETH mining on one XFX RX 5700 8GB + one XFX RX 480 8GB + one MSI RX 480 8GB on Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS (via minerstatOS) with amdgpu-pro v19.30 drivers.  When I upgraded to v5.2e, I saw my RX 5700 take approximately an hour to build its DAG file, and then yield 0 hashrate, and the two RX 480s only produced about a third of their normal hashrate.  I previously saw the same behavior with all PhoenixMiner v5.1x versions, as well.

Rolling back to v5.0e immediately resolves the issue without a reboot.  I have used a few versions of the PhoenixMiner for about ten months on this mixed-gen rig without issue, so this has been something introduced after v5.0e.  In case it's any help, I am including a few log excerpts, though I never saw any suspicious messages or error logs to report.

v5.2e log (note the miner uptime versus the DAG generation progress)

Phoenix,

You are right about the stale shares of nanominer. But for some reason gminer is not producing an accepted share for any of my 390's under smos. It may be related to opencl version 18.20 or it needs root access, I don't know. I can't test now under hiveos, where the opencl is 19.20. Any suggestions?
I use amd pro 19.50 and 20.30 drivers in ubuntu and hive. Try them.

Try going back to driver Open CL 19.20

I could use some guidance please.

I downloaded the new PM 5.3b to mine ETC again with some of my AMD 470 4gb cards. I have a test rig up with Win10 and 20.4.2 drivers installed. I have two cards that are the same except one is 8Gb and the other 4Gb. The 8gb card works fine of course, however, the 4Gb card only finds invalid shares.
