A fix please!

I think this issue is in the HiveOS yard. My problems in Hive started since I got my RX 6700's then they continue with my RX 6600 XT. I think the main problem in Hive is because they use old drivers and there is no option to update them manually for AMD cards. Because PM uses optimized custom kernels for all different models cards, but these kernels are made for the new drivers. So with the old drivers, the miner cannot recognize the new cards and it uses generic kernels. Most of the other miners in Hive use generic kernels and you can mine with no issues. Looks like to me in Hive has a lobby against PM which is promoting Gminer and NBminer.

To get RX 6x00's cards to mine in Hive first you need to install the old stable version on your boot disk, then you have to update it to the latest through the web interface. For me, this is the wrong way to do it.
Anyway, after I get through that, I found my RX 6x00's not working with PM above v 5.5c. So I ran my NAVI cards with PM, but to make my rig stable I had to use TR for my 6700's and NB for my 6600 XT. That worked until PM 5.8b. Then the 6700's started working with the PM but not the 6600. Also with PM 5.8, my RX 5x00 cards became unstable. Now I use NB until the weekend when I have to fix my windows.

GPU1: Unable to prepare kernels: clCreateKernel (-46)

-clkernel 1 - auto select. work -clkernel 0, but stale shares 2-4%.

Ubuntu 20.4.3 ( no HiveOS)
AMDGPU-PRO-21.30 drivers amdgpu-pro-install -y --opencl=rocr --headless

I am not using -clKernel just PhoenixMiner decide as it will pick the right one, see releasenotes.

The only settings for RX 6600 XT are as follows:
-acm
-gt 14
-ttj 70
-hwm 2
-coin eth

MH/s 28.719 ASRock Challenger Pro 8GB RX 6600 XT

I you have any ideas for improving hashrate share your ideas.

Here are some tips.

-clKernel  It is just instruction for the miner what type of GPU you have. When it works fine with default don't need to change it.
-acm  You don't need this command for the RX 6600. It works only on Polaris and older cards.
-gt 14 You can improve a little bit hashrate from here, but I prefer to leave this on automatic because over time when the epoch grows or after you change clocks/voltages this number will change too. So you need to check periodically what this number would be.
-ttj 70 This command will do nothing because the RX 6600 does not report junction temp. Is better to use -tt and/or -ttmem .

Hashrate of 28.719MH/s is the default settings for this card. I would recommend you to start with these settings:
Code:
-cclock 1100
-cvddc 675
-mclock 1100
-mvddc 1250
This is what I use for my Gigabyte RX 6600 XT. Try if it works for you for a couple of days. Then you can start changing your numbers slowly until you find the sweet spot.
More options for tuning you can find in the Readme file in the miner's directory.

-clKernel Type of OpenCL kernel: 0 - generic, 1 - optimized, 2 - alternative, 3 - turbo (1 is the default)

Failure to specify the clkernel will default PM to use clKernel1 - see the command list in post 1 reproduced above for convenience.

To increase performance you might want to see if gpu tuning is working under your setup? -gt x ( i see you have -gt 14 which is more or less default setting which is 15)

Press z during mining to see if they will autotune to find best -gt setting and if so wait till finished and check the results by pressing s and apply it in config or command line.

I know it's the default but since 5.8b kernels have changed for the RX 6600 XT specifically. Did you actually read the ReleaseNotes.txt?
  - Implemented optimized kernels for AMD RX6600XT cards

The -gt 14 came up after autotuning. Will fiddle with the -gt -cclock -mclock -cvddc settings to see if I can improve it. On Windows the same card gets more than 32 MH/s.

I think this is for Phoenixminer devs, this combination 4x rx6600 and phoenixminer 5.8b or 5.8c is not working out of the box in hiveos. If not wil do a post on hive forum.

As ever my intention is to give newbies an opportunity to have sight of the malware posts but yes all direct download links should be rendered safe.  Embarrassed

Its fine, just that some of them tend to have itchy fingers, you know

tbh i think the scammers are losing it as 5.8c is officially released now and actually for us RX6x00 fans it fixes much and is very welcome release indeed. My own rig of 6 of them is flying now under official PM 5.8c with na aged driver! So please scammers urgently release PM 6.0 as i would like double hash rate for 200% increase in power efficiency as well and throw in beta super mega turbo boost on AMD HW for my fetish...

Thanks PM for 5.8c and good work btw.  Grin Cool

Just want to report back with the status of using 5.8b/c for AMD 6600 (non-XT). When using 5.7c, I had 32% stales and 1.11% incorrect shares in 24 hours. With 5.8b,  both are reduced to 0.12% and 0%. AMD driver is 21.10.2 on Windows 10. Thank you, PhoenixMiner!

The  new  version  is  finally  ready.  You  can  download  PhoenixMiner  5.8c  from  here:

Changes in version 5.8c :
  • Full LHR disable mode -lhrdis  1 - yes (default), 0 - no
  • Added lock core clock
  • Fixed an issue causing crashing with some RTX 3060/3080/3090 cards
  • Implemented new "turbo" kernels (-clkernel 3) for AMD Polaris cards that can work with the current DAG sizes over 4 GB. Note that -clkernel 3 uses double the VRAM and will
provide slightly faster hashrate with slightly higher power consumption. You can use the -rvram command-line parameter to specify how much VRAM to be left unused
  • Increased the maximum supported DAG epoch to 600 (i.e. until about Sep 2023)
  • Implemented full hardware control for AMD RX6900/6800/6700 cards under Linux. Note that with these cards under Linux you need to specify relative core voltage: e.g. -
cclock -50 will set the core voltage to be 50 mV under the default value
  • Added ROCr kernels for Vega, Radeon VII and Navi cards. With these kernels you will be able to run these cards with Linux drivers 20.45 and later but the performance will
be lower than with the older PAL drivers and kernels. We recommend using AMD Linux driver 20.30 for all cards except RX6900/6800/6700
  • Fixed an issue causing crashing with some RX6900/6800/6700 cards under Linux (there is no need to run these cards with -clkernel 0 anymore)
  • Added support for AMD Windows drivers up to 21.8.1. Note that Radeon VII cards will not work with drivers 21.6.1 or higher - you need to use older drivers for proper
    operation of these cards
  • Added support for AMD Linux drivers up to 21.20 (use older drivers for Vega or Radeon VII cards as they will not work with 21.20). Note that the latest 21.30 drivers are
not supported (and the initial testing shows that even the older Polars cards are not working properly with them, so avoid 21.30 for now)
  • Numerous other fixes and small improvements

Please let us know if you have any problems or questions related to PhoenixMiner 5.8c

Dear mods,

this post above links to what i believe is a none official source of PhoenixMiner yet you delete my warning to it and leave it up?

What are you doing?

Has a scammer infiltrated your ranks or is PhoenixMiner back on Github without any notice? PhoeninxMiner was kicked off Github its well documented in this thread and the only official place to download PhoeixMiner is from there own website which is linked in the first post of this thread and copied below.

UNTIL VERIFIED OTHERWISE BY PM TAKE NOTE, DOWNLOADING PHOENIXMINER from any location other than "" is likely to ruin your week.

The following link appears to be a new github account and provided for reference it is an unknown repositary setup yesterday 24th Oct 2021 DO NOT DOWNLOAD FROM IT.

So you repost and include links to known malware.  Reported is what you should have done…and thus your post has been.

Yes i reported the scammer post several times today and it is still there isnt it complete with links yet my post warning about it has been removed. For the record the links i posted are now disabled for safety and security purposes.

Merit for correcting and please dont post the links to the malware even with warnings.  Best you can do is keep it reported.  Thanks for correcting it Wink

Why do you post it here while 5.8c is already published?! This is misleading. Hacked account?

Most of them are new accounts but a portion are also compromised/ purchased ones.

The moment you see one not from PhoenixMiner himself, report and avoid.

nope. this one looks like valid account with some merit. I bet it was hacked and despite that I reported this already, this posting is still there.

Yup, we will encounter some of the higher ranks (I've seen those with 100 Merits before) but those are usually with airdropped Merits or have stopped posting a long time ago.

About the post, which one are you referring to?
