Any hope to know have developers plan to implement "dag cache" feature in next release?
T-rex, lolminer and Gminer already have it...

if you checked discussions above, seems PM developers don't care anymore about making their software great again Smiley We can vote with our rigs only, so if you ok with T-rex, lolminer or gminer, switch to them and don't use PM until it has dag cache implemented.

Guys there's still no 5.8a version of PM, all the link posts are fake ones don't download from anywhere beside the official link on page 1 for safety.

Thats awfully defensive old chap, just so we are clear i give zero cares what you do or why you do it and i extend that to everyone. If you like using closed source operating systems then good for you. I however do not as you correctly determine and for the record I do not worship linux rather I avoid centralised control and exploitation wherever I am able to and this includes propitiatory software and I urge everyone to inspect carefully to what and whome they bind themselves for there are many offers made to the blind in order to exploit and harness there energy. And after all that is said the ones paying attention notice that Phoenix Miner is closed source so yeah, not ideal....  All the best with those 6600's in time they will yield good results but for me the density of hash is to small, i prefer bigger cards and smaller rigs in case you had doubts about it  Grin

Okay, great. I have not asked, but I heard you. You chose the hardest way. Just keep going, but please, do it more quietly.

this is why i don't like chatting with people that worship linux.

I happen to agree with you. It seems all my life people who use linux are in a mindless cult and anyone else not
using it are all idiots. You cannot converse with them without them looking down on you for not following their cult.

Did you download it by using the link on the first post of this thread (page 1), and only that ? There's regular scam posts with false links posted here, you should only thrust the official link.

Beside that, Windows make some false positive on PhoenixMiner, it happened to me also. IF you're sure of the source you can ignore it.

Okay guys, please, cut the sparks. Everyone here has different goals and different strategies on how to meet their goals. I personally still need some more GPU's to retire my last few 4G cards, but I'm off the market because I do not agree to pay at the retail stores about double the price, compared to the reference price for the cards they selling now. Even a few months ago, I managed to buy 2 new RX 6700 XT cards from eBay at a lower price than what they are selling them now in the retail stores. Also more worst is the situation with the LHR cards. They are not available in the retail stores, but the displayed price is double compared to the founder's edition, and the LHR lock makes them less power efficient even with 70% unlock.
But this is just me. However there are still people who pay these prices, even they know may never make an ROI.
I would never advise someone to do or not to do something unless I had been asked.

Essentially people like us who missed earlier waves.

Welcome to the games, all are welcome but we note the entry price continues to grow so early entry is advised...  Grin

See my recent posts for the way to go to mine RX6000 series under Linux it doesnt appear to be a PM problem but but rather an opencl driver issue related to ROCM? and correct kernels to consider.

I am using Manjero at present but currently building a ubuntu image in the hopes of resolving stale share issue with better ROCM opencl drivers, but so far below is an example of performance under linux for these cards and I will say i like the RX6000 even if the prices are jacked up they run quiet with there massive heatsinks and even without fans on for periods very nice for primary indoor heating source so thats a massive saving on not having to turn the heating on thru winter and all is considered in the Return of investment calculation although i do mourn for my RVII as they where special.
Right now I put £35 a week electric in and get out £70 plus free heating. Bring on the depths of winter I am ready.

I think PhoenixMiner finally lost it's battle to become best ETH miner... or actually lost it's 1st place that it got after Claymore sudden disappearance.

Since PhoenixMiner 5.7b:

TRM got clock and voltage control with awesome performance on Radeon Vega cards...
Gminer and NBMiner got awesome hashrate on nvidia LHR cards as well as T-rex that went even further and implemented mining on the full power of LHR cards in dual modes with RVN/ERG and so on.

What did Phoenix miner team? Nothing for now... Sad.

I switched to PM at the end of 2018 and didn't think to look for another miner until I bought my first RX 6700's a few months ago. Then the Windows on that rig crashed, and I switched to HiveOS because of lack of time to fix the Windows. Because of lack of support for the 6700's in PM my rig, became unstable with creating invalid shares and restarts frequently. The situation became even worst after I added my new RX 6600 XT a month ago. Finally, I ended a few days ago by separating my rig with three flight sheets, running 3 miners on it. Now my rig is stable, but I run PM only for the Navi cards, for the RX 6700's I use TRM, and for the 3070 and the RX 6600 use NBM.

Anyway, this is just an example of my issues.

For me, it looks like the devs now are spending more time making fun on the beach, than working hard to solve ours problems.

Hi guys Smiley i hope you are doing good Smiley

in my country there are constants power cuts, so the miners will restart. the thing is, everytime it does, as i didnt start the miner as administrator, it would run without the voltage mods, so it gets high temperatures Sad

i created a shortcut and use the options for it to always run as administrator, and to not ask to click it, but it either wont boot (if i put it on sell:startup), or will run but not as admin so no mods Sad

is there any way to do this?

to start the pc and it runs the miner as admin so the voltage and clock and power mods work?

thanks :=)
Windows or linux ?
You should start your own thread as its more about automatic overlocking / undervolting than PhoenixMiner itself.
Hint: Both windows and linux have ways to automate such things.  Windows have batch files and linux can run scripts at startup.

thanks for the answer Smiley

windows 10. ive always used the bat shortcut into startup:shell in the past times (claymore dual times). but it does not seem to work now. it starts, but without voltage oc etc. i even have that shortcut so it automatically is admin, actually when i click it myself it works, but not when it starts Sad
thanks again

In Windows when you use PM is not necessary to run the PM as administrator to change clocks and voltages. Just read the Readme file on how to set up these commands:

Code:
-powlim
-cclock
-cvddc
-mclock
-mvddc

You must run PM as administrator, only if you want to do memory tweaks without modding the BIOS. Depends on your hardware, use these commands:

Code:
-straps
 -vmt1
-vmt2
-vmt3
-vmr
-nvmem
-rxboost
-vmdag
-mcdag

Note memory tweaks work only on older hardware. The recent Nvidia 30** and AMD 6*** series are not supported yet.

On all my rigs, I have set up for the miner to start automatically after Windows restart, and it reads the commands from the config file. I only lose about 1Mh/s per card for losing the memory tweaks. All the clocks and the powers are the same as when it is running as admin.

thank you very much for the information. ill try that. i dont use mem tweaks, only powlim and mem core clocks (like powlim -35 cclock -300 etc)
but i do that on the .bat, not on the config. ill try that on the config file.
Sad
thanks

edit: i use gtx 1060

Best (or perhaps the only) way to open a program as admin without UAC prompt (that yes or no alert) is using Windows Task Scheduler:
You have to create a task with "Run with highest privileges" and "Allow task to be run on demand" enabled.
I don't know if Task Scheduler can directly open .BAT files or not, try it first but if it can't, you can use this command instead:
%WINDIR%\system32\cmd.exe /c "D:\My Folder\My Batch File.bat"

Also you can find step by step guide for how to create a task here:
https://superuser.com/questions/1070619/how-to-grant-elevated-privileges-to-a-windows-10-startup-shortcut-to-auto-start

nice thank you very much. ill try that (i misclicked and didnt quote the last post)

6800 is supported and recognised by PM v5.7b. while 6600 is not yet recognised by PM v5.7b.

and i'm not gonna use linux. too much hassle. i rather use windows.

thanks for pointing it out tho i wouldnt mine with 6600's unless i found a lorry full in a field lol. As for Linux it can be challenge but very rewaring to break free of MS tho sometimes it can make one want to smash things up in a rage if its not bad enough learning new HW then throw in an unfamaliar distribution i been on Ubuntu till now having moved to Manjaro to get these 6800s singing without windows such is the passion for that here.

i never asked you to mine with 6600 and i don't care if you want or does not want to mine with 6600XT. that's not the issue.

people mine with what they want to mine. 6600XT uses very little wattage. that's why i use it.

and 6800 prices is what kept me away. i'm not some rich person that suddenly started to mine.
i've been mining for years. i started mining using 1x GT 730.

this is why i don't like chatting with people that worship linux.
