Hello. Thanks for the releases.
Will you add more DAG epohs in the next release?
I agree. Current epoch # 400, there are less than 100 left because I think that it will stop working much earlier than 500.

I saw some other ethash miners add more DAGs...

Let me guess, the card in question is EVGA or Gigabyte and the second one is another brand? Most likely thermal throttling is the case, 3080\3090 are known for that, these 2 brands being the worst (in that case only LOL). Note: it's not the core temp that you see in afterburner, it's memory temp, you'd need utility called HWinFO64 to see it. Download it, take a look at your memory jusction temp sensor reading and you'll most likely see 110-112 degrees Celsius. Common fix is to change thermal pads to good quality ones with 12-17 W/mk (I use these, https://cdn.alzashop.com/ImgW.ashx?fd=f4&cd=CB131w1&i=1.jpg) and do everything possible to improve  the ventilation.

Both cards are EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3090's. Not using Afterburner but EVGA's Precision X1 instead. 60c is way too low for thermal throttling when I have the temp target set at 91c lol.

Did you carefully read what I wrote? Did you download the utility and check your memory junction temperatures? You are still talking about your core temperature which has nothing to do with the issue.

My bad, forgot about that. I just used GPU-Z instead as I don't have hwinfo installed on this PC atm and yeah the memory temps are getting seriously high, 110c peak. I've been debating watercooling these cards anyway so perhaps this is a good excuse to get the air coolers off and replace those pads in the process.
EDIT. So I just checked the 2nd card and realised it's not that far behind the first one, sitting at 108c on it's memory yet it's still performing way better.

Hi, hoping for some help with 1 of my 3090's I use for mining. Using v5.5c.
The problem I'm having is as soon as it hits around 60c temp, the performance drastically goes down. For some reason the card stops pulling the usual ~350 watts and only draws ~270 watts after 60c ish temperature is hit. I have a 2nd 3090 which pulls much higher, has no monitors plugged into it and draws around 400 watts. That card will happily go up to 66-67c temps and remains at the 400 watts draw. I'm really scratching my head with the first 3090. It hurts watching it's hshrate go from 120mh to 90mh just because the temp climbs from 56c to 60c lol. Meanwhile the 2nd card doesn't seem to care about temperature and will chug away doing 122mh with 400 watts.
If you need any extra information such as logs, OC settings etc then please let me know and I can provide them.

Yes, a log will be helpful, but first make sure you add the command-line option -hstats 2 to see the actual clocks, and the reason for throttling (we assume that there is throttling involved), and because 60C is too low for temperature-related throttling, it is probably power-related but we need the log for more information.

If the card is throttling because of the power limit, you can increase it with this option -powlim +20,0 (the 0 is to leave the power limit of the second card at default value as it doesn't have throttling issues).

Hi Phoenix, thanks for the response. I've added in the command line options you suggested and ran the miner for a couple minutes. Sadly the -powlim argument didn't really help. I wasn't sure what the most convenient way of sharing the log would be so I just went ahead and threw it in a pastebin. You can see that here: https://pastebin.com/q780sgsL

The exact cards are EVGA 3090 FTW Ultra's and I'm using EVGA's Precision X1 overclocking software. The OC settings I'm running are the same for each card and they are as follows.
GPU: -400
Mem: +1200
Power and Temp target slider is maxed at 119% for power and 91c for temp. The fans are also all set to 100%.

Reposting this as it got buried by all this NH nastiness  Roll Eyes

RX 6800 support for Linux?

How's AMD RX support in Linux for PM 5.5c? Has anybody had any success?

I plan on running PhoenixMiner on Tiny Core Linux 11.1.  Rig will be running 1 x RX 5700 and 6 x RX 6800 (non-XT) with no plans on doing any CPU mining.

I currently am running Win 10 and looking to move to something a lot more stable that can still give me at least 425 MH/s.

And if anyone has figured out how to consistently do 70 MH/s on an RX 6800 running PhoenixMiner, please DO let us know!  Grin

Ok i saw the new link
But how can we download it. I f you click on 5.5c does nothing

But despite of that, i want the 5.5b. Where can i find it?

I have a rig since 2017 and now i'm mining with Phoenix 5.5b now stable for many days.
I don't want to change it

Any knows ?

You just need to scroll down, click the "Assets" link to see the files that are included in the release, and then click on the archive you want to download (e.g. PhoenixMiner_5.5c_Windows.zip).

We recommend using 5.5c as it is an official release, while 5.5b is beta version. However, if you insist on using 5.5b, you can download it from here:

      https://phoenixminer.info/downloads/beta/

NOTE to everyone: do not download any "hotfix" version 5.5d - there is no such version, and when we release the actual new version, it will not be named 5.5d.

I don't think you can sue without revealing your identity to someone.  This whole thing just reaks of ways to get him to reveal his identity which is highly sus.

My thought exactly after I read his suggestion LOL

Interestingly I believe that you can, at least in some instances. Although I don't believe it's realistic in this situation (or that PhoenixMiner would be inclined to try).

Courts can grant permission for a claimant to use a pseudonym under so-called anonymity orders, usually in domestic abuse cases and the like, or in the case of PhoenixMiner you could set up a shell company to mask the true ownership and have solicitors file a claim on behalf of the shell company.

I used to work as an asset manager for a company that purchased a lot of mortgages, they were regularly bundled up into SPVs with the servicers listed as directors and another offshore shell company as the beneficial interest (yay tax avoidance). Possession claims were filed by solicitors on behalf of the SPV, with documentation such as home at risk notices signed by approved individuals from the third-party mortgage servicer.

The true ownership was never disclosed. To my knowledge only one person ever tried to obtain it, they had a dubious theory that our servicers didn't have the right to bring a claim against them, and it was rejected by a district court judge.

That would be ridiculously complicated and expensive however, especially given the complexities and chances of success in filing such a claim in Slovenia (or wherever NiceHash are based) over a relatively trivial matter such as this. I just think it's fascinating that it's possible at all, and a little bit of a disturbing argument against shell companies if I was honest.

Thanks for the insight, it was an interesting read. I assume it was US state legislation, not federal? In either case though I guess this trick would be quite hard to pull in other parts of the world, but then I never had a close look into this matter.

Hi all. What is the command line parameter to auto set the difficulty? Mine is stuck at 10000MH and finding shares takes a long time. Thx for your time

The difficulty is set by the pool, not the miner. Different pools use different difficulties. The difficulty of the share is really just a representation of how much work the miner has to do before the pool accepts the share

ty. I thought that might be the case...

Sure thing.
I'd recommend ethermine or ezil for your pool. Flexpool is also a good option, i think they all have about a 4k difficulty. I'm on ezil right now and the diff is 4294mh and my smaller cards have no problems

I have been using Phoenix on my rigs for several years from version 4.1 onwards to mine (at one time or another) almost every supported coin on many different pools. I have never seen any suspicious behaviour from any version... ever.   I have had some technical problems with a few versions which were usually resolved by the next release.

If the devs. want to stay anonymous then so be it. I don't care. Miners need to monitor their own rigs and be satisfied that the software they are running is safe.

I don't know what NH is up to here but it feels like a FUD campaign to me.

For me...it is business as usual. Running the latest version 5.5c with no issues.

Well for me I am and have been using most versions of Phoenix miner with no issues. I am currently using Phoenix 5.5c within the Nicehash miner for about the last month. Only to switch things up for a BTC payout. Otherwise I normally have used the Phoenix miner as a stand alone.

I am glad to see the Phoenix devs coming forward to defend themselves and go to lengths to give reassurance on their software and that they are not "MIA"

Lets hope both Nicehash and Phoenix can find a middle ground and get this resolved soon for the benefit of everyone who uses both software's. Its not healthy for the mining world to have doubts on either side.
