I've been involved with Navajocoin a few months ago. It was nothing-at-stake attacked twice...Plus it's developers have done absolutely nothing, besides pumping/dumping it with announcements.

You can download the beta wallet and try it out, it was released yesterday.

Yeah so it does not destroy the coin they use a testing zone.
the real coin is on the market, but the test is working fine.
Plus it's an improvement an better than DRK.

DRK's anon is not great. Cryptonote and Shadowcoin already have fully released and working anon that is better than DRK's. I understand this isn't meant to be objective though. I don't own any of the anon coins because i honestly don't think they really have a future, but the technology is interesting.

I'd probably add Shadowcoin as one of the few that has succeeded. The cryptonote coins and Shadowcoin seem a bit more advanced than Dark.

It never been really hyped. Devs hates pumping and marketing.
Monero is fair. It does what its supposed to do : anonymity and does it better than anything else but it is not a get-rich-quick-scheme (what most people look for).
