i dont know. the stale rate was this high until i hit about 90-100 shares, then it got less. so maybe it was just bad luck i had those 10% stales at the beginning.

Erm... spongehead, what are you mining with?

There's a user with 135GH/s right now, I guess it's you.
But it shows you have submitted a total of 42 shares only Huh (and it just went down to 41 Shocked)

Mining since bitcoin was $1
carbon = plant food

but regardless al gore and the other main stream media has gotten everyone to be worried about the co2 coming out of your mouth when you speak.

That being said - saving rainforests - good idea.  if you want another site check out rainforest.org - $50 USD = 1 acre put into trust permanently.

It was the cheapest way I have ever seen.

Please don't get me wrong. Buying rainforest land is great, a real step forward. But anytime I see the phrase "carbon footprint" my blood starts to boil.

I think your pool speed is off/wrong/lying.

User Id   Hashrate
19           79793

Your saying that you have 1 user is running 79GH/s.  Then it also says that miner has -2 shares:
the rate was correct and was coming from me. it also showed the correct number of shares in the user interface. the statistics delay could be a bit shorter tho. the hashrate dropped after i switched back to single gpu mining, some minutes between the switch nothing was running.
i think the hashrate and number of shares are updated differently. it was still showing the old hash rate but it didn't count new shares anymore because i detached the grid, so there were no shares anymore.

Wow, negative shares! That's new.

So when your pool runs @ "83.2 GH/s", the biggest user in the pool is 79GH/s with -2 shares...I don't believe for 1 second that you're really running a 83.2 GH/s.

Nice try though.  Please fix your pool speed indicator. People don't like it when you get this type of thing wrong.

ok, i know your asleep, but still some advise:

1. get a favicon for your website. makes it look better when bookmarked and when looking at the tab + it is easy to set up.
2. change your sig. dont write "...our fees plant trees..." but instead write "...your fees plant trees...". makes it look more appealing Cheesy
3. check if long polling is enabled. im getting stales in the two digit area. @deepbit its sub 1%. thats important, no one wants to waste that much of their hashing-power. even for a good cause.

ive added you to my websites pooled mining list: http://btcxc.info/mining.html

In the "Account" settings, there is an option of donation, of which is default at 0%. So, to clarify, this would be addition to the 2% stated on the home page?

So you'd need to be genning about 140 btc/month to get fees to pay off the server (2.8 btc = ~$80).

That's about 82GH at my best estimate, seems like a reasonable endeavour. Anything beyond the first 82GH should be donating to charity until the next difficulty increase.

Can we get some stats on profit and how much is being donated where, what it's doing for the environment etc. Also, can you explain running costs so that we know how much fees are going to have to cover to make 'profits'?

I'm a huge sceptic of anthropogenic global warming theory, but I am an environmentalist (the oldschool type: I like to walk in the countryside, I like clean air etc) and would be happy to support this pool if the numbers are right.

Foggyb, 'anyone can go plant a tree' avoids the objective. The more we cut down rainforests, the harder it's going to be to maintain a healthy earth and keep oxygen production sustainable. You, or me, planting one tree, isn't going to offset the massive amount of deforestation going on right now. I'm not saying don't plant a tree, but it doesn't undo the amount of deforestation done in your name.

TheYogi, don't just try to sell this from a carbon point of view because AGW is a hot debate and a lot of people will avoid the pool and all the good it's doing from a point of view of it being one side or the other of the AGW debate. Deforestation is an issue for all of us, not just AGW-believers.

You sir are a genius.

It lets people make money, makes Bitcoin look better, and lets people sleep easier knowing they are doing some good.

More pools like this should go up and associate themselves with a charity. People can pick and choose what pool they go to and what charity to support.

Don't be greedy you people who are thinking about opening up pools. If you are reading this the good publicity can potentially pay for itself.
