Simle economy.

One - some people have invested a lot in mining rigs. If they have it - why not use it. They will just pay for electricity, and that is cheaper than buying coins, still cheaper.
Two - some people have more fun in all that mining experience than just buying and selling coins like standard stock
Three - it will eventually align based on the cost of power/gain. If more people will leave mining for buying - miners will get more coins per day since the hash rate will go down.

FYI the algorithm favours CPUs but GPUs are still very good and for miners beyond the casual "why not" type of person (i.e. people actually investing in mining) are the best option.

I think that was the point, why bother mining now if it is hardly profitable when you can buy $10 ETN, cut the $5 mining loss and see what happens in the upcoming months, or one or two years (or 5 years) for that matter.

I am working with 75 KH/s on this pool https://easyhash.io/ and just to attention all noobs - this is CPU crypro, it is not so profitable with VGA, so do not expect great results there, compare to XMR my income is 3 times more, so that's worth.

Could be that, but the official pool has not found a block for 11 hours now and he only has 100 H/s. With no blocks found you get nothing.

Easyhash using claymore, payouts every few minutes so even if you have 100H's you will accumulate something. The pool overall is doing well.
Using claymore with AMD RX 580's 8GB ...i did receive an error running 8GB vs 4GB (doubled memory mode) so i needed to disable.

What do you mean what is the point ?? You mine to get coins, depending on the network hash rate you get less or more, but you do get them.
I got a normal workstation with 1 1080TI and it is doing around 870 H/s (downgraded to 180W consumption). With a current price that gives me around $3 per day, with $2.2 for energy = $0.8 profit a day. Not worth mining right?

Hmmm Sure I can switch to ZEC or any other and get $6 profit per day. That is all when you want to sell at a current price. I am quite certain that the price will drop as low as $0.01 when the dump starts, and then slowly go up to at least $1 this year. In that way of thinking I can theoretically earn not $0.8 per day, but $62. That would be a nice bonus on Christmass.

Speaking from investing perspective, you guys should be patient and know that any investment that gives more than 10% gain per year is an awesome one.

Only the simulated mining app/wallet is not live. Mining is well and truly live and so is trading. They had a few hiccups but the working wallet and any funds you may have will be released soon.

I have 1200 H/s and only got 20 coins in the past 16 hours lol. Move pool bud, not enough hash on there now and a high fee. They have not hit a single block in 10 hours now!

It is not hitting any blocks, too much hash in other places. If you have a low amount of hash power you will get barely anything (or nothing) at this point, it is not about your hash, it is about the total pool hash and luck. I moved to another pool and it is getting better results hitting blocks and the minimum payout is lower, also lower fee is nice Cheesy
