I'm having an issue with blocks validating. When I boot up the program, all the blocks validate just fine up to the current one. But any new blocks generated when the program is open have a red X next to them. However, if I close the program and re-start, they validate just fine.
Also, for the startup phase, it seems like it reads all the blocks in sequence. With 400 blocks that's not too bad, but what will happen when it reaches 10000 or 100000?
The chain got broken on block 112. We worked on a fix and hope that 0.59.4 solves this issue. If not, at least we will get more debug information specially for this issue.

There is a very interesting concept, where the problem of proof of work is translated into a deterministic physics based level of a game.
The posed problems can currently only be solved by humans (coding a bot to play the game is possible but hard and ineffective).
This would move botnets as well as ASICS and GPUs out of the equation and instead the further distribution of the mining period completly in the hands of human individuals.
You could rent someone to play for you though....
Initially we planned to program a game additionally for the mining part since we have experience on that field as well. But it was more work than expected to do what we did so far. So, no, there won't be something like a game

No, it's not too late yet, however, we will end at the end of the month I would say.
V0.59.4 is online - (x.3 is still running on a seperate net if you are wondering).
So x.4 started a new chain again but we are already beyond block 100 so you can start mining right away if you like.Changelog:- implemented "get balance *" to get all balances of all addresses plotted (also used within the checkpoint feature now)
- debug tab - solved: everything got translated to small letters. So the commands with passwords included did not worked therefore (command keywords are case insensitive now, further input case sensitive)
- store not only latest valid id in valid.exo but also the corresponding inchain hash. Both will be checked now on startup and will be modified properly if it is needed
- changed red cross symbol in block explorer to tilde symbol to better reflect what it should say
- displaying account's balance now in the transactions tab as well
- started with address book implementation, however, it is not finished yet
- clarified mining instructions in mining tab
- fixed exocoin news metrics in home tab (no scrollbars on default settings for normal lengthen news now)
- possibly solved an error within 0.59.3. and previous versions. If not we will get more debug data at that point hopefully now. (chain async @block 112 in last test)
- transactions will be send now with reliable udp packets
- displaying now "broadcasted over XX nodes" after transaction initiations (still buggy: after restarting the client it will show 0 for all transactions - wait for future version)
- fixed a bug in reliable sending (this feature only got called in bug report functionality) ; the udp class no longer crashes if trying to send a bug report
bug reports can be send again.
- improved the chain sync procedure (fixed 2 cases where the client would not sync properly)
If the chain gets not broken again then the launch's eta = early june is still realistic.

Yes you are right. The most important thing is to get a stable and secure product. Better delaying again a week than having hacker attacks on the first days or chain asyncs. With the changelogs and open beta tests I hope everyone is seeing that we are working on the product lots of time and make a steady progress.
