open beta in some minutes. Since there is nothing "perfect" right now and eXocoin will not be "just a program" (it must deal with a virtual currency properly and without serious security issues) we definatly will go for a 2nd open beta before the launch with the (nearly) final product then. You can then try to attack the software with whatever you like. As for this beta you are maybe able to crash the system. If that will be the case we will investigate and restart after a fix - providing an update as well then as auto-update.

the recent large drop in the value of BTC is a prime example of why 1st round get more. That and the fact that 1st rounders lose access to the investment

You might overseen one point for your calculation: You are assuming that the 230 BTC cap will be reached. Although I cannot say it will not be reached I do not think that it will be. Secondly all numbers are public. So every investor can calculate what you just have did and can decide to not invest if they are not happy with these conditions.@eXo_coin (or any other developer)

You are saying that 1st stage investors have not faced higher risks - fair enough to say. In my personal opinion that is not true. I agree with you that the risks where not that much higher (compared to other IPOs with more than one stage) but they were higher: You must rely on the escrow service or you must rely on us. Both ways are not 100% safe. Additionally every invested coin is parked in a wallet outside of your control. Thus you cannot use it for other investments / react to course drops/increases etc. So even if we just hand everything back you might lost some of the investment because of a bad BTC chart. The earlier you invested the higher is the risk to get in trouble with that point. The earlier you invested in eXocoin the more trust you put into us, our words and our product. That is something that should be honored as well.
Anyway those conditions are set and we will not change them now. Please accept the conditions. If you cannot live with them then please do not invest in 2nd stage.
website is up running again. Host got issues with switches.
If in the day tomorrow everything runs smoothly then we will stick with the plan to start with the 2nd stage on 2nd April.
Open beta will launch in less than a few hours probably. Please stay patient for further notice soon. Selection criteria are not fix set like "your account must be registered after XXX". We will check your investment wish depending on various criteria (registration date, activity, 1st stage investments, desired amount)

now that you have officially stated the conditions for the second stage of the ipo, let me be the first one to ask critical questions about your proceeding.
note that i am asking this qestions under the asumption that the upper cap of the 230 btc for the second stage will be reached, but as you obviously assume that yourselves according to the follwoing statement my questions have a right to exist.
why do you think that an early bird investor deserves a whopping 67% more eXo for his investment compared to a potential investor of the 2nd stage?
even if you consider a 67% advanatage for early birds to be fair, why do you insist on the upper cap for the second stage instead of using the formula

Early bird's take more risk than late adopters, so they should get a bigger share.
Earlier you adopted, more risk you will experience.
The reward for the first round IPO should correctly be more than later investments.
It's the same situation for most of other IPO process.

please explain in detail why you think that early birds take a higher risk than potential investors of the second stage. imho this statment is just ridiculous becaus the early birds could have made their payment via an escrow and are sill able to be back off right now if they want to. so imho the risk between investing in second stage compared to investing in the first stage is actually exactly the same!

As for the beta: Right now we have an issue caused by the hosting provider on exocoin.org
Although our beta-VPS are not facing that issue (other provider and locations) we might delay our beta test. Additionally we are doing still final checks on that beta version right now and are in contact to the hosting provider. Please give us some time so it might be delayed some hours up to one day.
Is there an expected date for beta test?
You know, the delay before beta test will scare the investors.
And you means you will choose the investors during the 2nd round IPO.

Yes, its official. Check the '2nd satge' link in exo_coin's post above.
1st round's 155BTC(approx.) will share 23% i.e 23 million coins.
2nd stage 230 BTC will share 18 million coins. If second stage falls short, there will be some adjustments so as to ensure 1st stage investors get more coins per BTC invested
