Let's stop fooling ourselves the truth is once you like gambling there's no way you can stop there are times where you will give it a break but you will always come back because gambling is more than just making money out of it I still have some games in my head that I feel like playing but I can't afford to gamble right now so the best way to tackle this issue of addiction is to always have little money that you can afford to use for gambling and discipline yourself enough that whenever that money never comes then you won't be gambling anytime soon until you make the extra income from gambling only have a budget in mind and you won't have any problem with gambling.

Honestly speaking, gambling became rampant and only spread since the advent of online casinos because of the internet connection. Meaning if there is no internet, do we think there will be influencers to promote casinos in the gambling industry? of course nothing, but only celebrities can endorse casinos.
But still, we are in modern technology, let's be careful and responsible gamblers when we play a game

I'm believing those suggestions are for a gambler who is an addict because a random gambler doesn't bother his or her self on what ads pops up from their phone at intervals.

To disable gambling apps or casino ads won't be a solution for an addict who is not yet ready to stop because if he does disable them on the caution of a second party or by himself, he would request a friend's phone for gambling because he is not ready yet to stop. It is about your readiness to stop or limit your gambling behavior. Both budgetting or deleting of gambling apps are not permanent solution.

I am of the opinion that since gambling sites are mostly online and some has adds that pops up as advert on visited site, one should be able to disable or change their browser settings  by blocking casino adds and as well disabling  gambling sites on their browser settings so as not to gain access to it anymore till the number of days they deem fit to their resolve. This was just a little tip I gave as a possible solution. I had to put it up here for further discussions so that the bigger community can see it as  well.

To many solutions might came out but people have different approach on how they can deal with addiction since there are methods that may work for you but for other may not. Best solution will always be your family support and also your realization upon everything you do on your gambling activity for sure you can ease all away those excessive activity you do.
It doesn't mean that you are continuously playing you are still in addiction stage but if you think you minimize your losses and in control on everything then possible you are now away for being in harmful situation.

This is a good solution that can be effective to some extent. But gambling adverts are everywhere not just on the internet. If seeing a gambling advert is what triggers you to gamble, then you have to look for other solutions because escaping from them is impossible. Gambling adverts are in almost all sports activities and in my area almost all nook and cranny are filled with gambling adverts.

Self-discipline is important to stop gambling addiction. One should develop a strong will to control his gambling activities. There should be a to gamble and a time to stay away from gaming. There is also a need to have a gambling plan and consciously follow the plan. Every gambler should have betting limits that should be strictly followed.

The only way to solve gambling addiction is to start learning self control. This cannot be learned in a short amount of time, you need to be tested and tested again on your budget and gambling and how do you spend it or how much do you continue,if you start gradually slowing down your spending and time spent on gambling then this is a very good indicator that you are doing well into achieving some sort of self control which with the passing of time will only become better.

Not seeing only ads and blocking sites through DNS or other IT means will not work as long as you think about gambling constantly.

Not seeing does not mean that you can get away from gambling addiction, if you're a gambler the temptation to check casinos is always there, even disabling ads about casinos will not, if you have not played on casinos you can do that but if you experienced playing in casinos, once you're online you will have the curiosity to check casinos, it's better to have a control avoiding is not enough to stop gambling addiction.
You have to believe in yourself that you can do it and that you can control your gambling habit, of course, pop-ups are an annoyance even if it's not about gambling, people should install ad blockers on their browsers if they're someone that is annoyed by ads, you need to install one.

I don't think that gambling ads online are the cause of excessive gambling or will reduce your gambling activities when you don't see them anymore. There are also other things that we watch and we see these gambling ads in them. For instance,if you are watching football or sport you see the ads and so the best way to stay from addiction is to have self-control on your gambling activities and only use the money that you can afford to lose. Better still if you can't do this, because you are always tempted by the are online stop using a browsing phone and don't watch TV anymore.  Roll Eyes

Everything we do to prevent us to gambling will not work properly if it does not come from ourselves because later when the desire for gambling takes over us, we can overcome the prevention that is done from the outside without any obstacles so that we can return to gambling.
You must be a person who is responsible and has self-control, so that gambling is only limited to the limits that have been set, even if you have never set a budget or limit and try to take other precautions including installing an ad block there will be no problem because you can control yourself well, you will never be tempted to play when you are not supposed to play, so everything has to come from ourselves, even the self-exclusion provided by the casino will be useless because we can play at another casino because we cannot control ourselves.

Gambling addiction is seen only in rich brats. A middle class person can never have any addiction towards the gambling. These rich people gamble to entertain themselves and later plays on ego. Whereas a middle class man gambles only to make some extra income. He will stop gambling if he doesn’t have any more money to gamble. For rich brats they need to understand the value of money, and should set a budget while gambling.

Not only that, but you also have to really avoid live broadcasts of gambling sessions that are on YouTube and other social media, considering that almost all social media are places for affiliates to broadcast game sessions and share referral links, even though we have deleted everything in the browser and stop getting into gambling sites, but if you see live streaming of games on other social media, it just reminds us of gambling and makes us curious to return to gambling.
The tips that you convey are actually quite good and useful, but actually these are not the only steps that can stop gambling addiction because there are many ways that can be done, regarding the results of successfully quitting addiction or not, it's a matter of behind because the main thing in stopping gambling addiction is the intention and persistence of the gambler himself to recover.

It is a good tip, but again, if the gambler wants to play, he will find a way. Let's say he follows your steps above, but still he can disable it and play into it. Online casinos are really accessible unless you only use your phone and buy some boxes with locks online that you will set your timer for when you can open the box. The only real solution to this is to build a habit within yourself, like playing basketball or any kind of sport, so that you'll be more interested in playing it than gambling.

There is nothing that can be done from this forum that is going to yield a meaningful result. One positive measure is the obligation of responsible gambling measures on casinos, allowing self-exclusion, setting maximum deposit limits and the like. But the offer is so varied that the degenerate gambler will always find a room where these measures do not exist and where he can continue to gamble more.

Get some friends, go out of your house, and quit sitting at home behind the computer. Unless you're sick(like me) then you should be outside enjoying the world. Go play some basketball, go swimming, take the kids to a waterpark. Gambling shouldn't consume your daily life.

The only way to stop online gambling is, you must have strong self-control and strong desire. An alternative is to find a high-paying job. Most gamblers are playing because of profit. They want a higher income, more money. High paying job could fulfill that, not just that, a high-paying job will surely keep you busy. For me, these two is the most effective way to stop gambling but it still depends on someone's behavior.

Gambling addiction is like any other addiction, and just as it is a bad idea for a recovering alcoholic to go to a bar, it is also a bad idea for a gambler in the process of recovering to watch ads related to online gambling.

However blocking those ads is not going to be easy as they are literally everywhere, and even if you could block all the pop-ups that could appear, at the same time you will be unable to block all gambling discussion that comes naturally on the content you are watching, this is what makes overcoming addictions even harder than on the past, as the ease in which we are able to obtain almost anything we may want now plays against us at this critical juncture.

Blocking gambling ads won't always be effective because these platforms will find a way to bypass the AdBlock that we use.

Also, instead of using a browser setting to block gambling sites, it's better to use self-exclusions, as most casinos are willing to freeze your account for a specific number of days or weeks.

These are all helpful, but you still need to initiate that self-control to stop yourself because these solutions won't be as effective when you're only putting in half the effort in stopping your addiction.

Most people who are addicted would surely look for outside solutions before addressing the problem directly: themselves. You are not solving a problem if you’re always looking for help, knowing that the problem also lies within you. Developing self-control and sticking to a budget is something that is more effective compared to other solutions offered by the platform itself or other third-parties. Once that’s sorted, everything is smooth sailing out there.

Gambling addiction is best solved by having gambling budget which is very small to the amount you are earning, like 5% of the 100% you are earning.

Responsible gambling comes from inside you and how you discipline yourself, it is not about ads or anything.

But generally you should block ads, not just gambling ads, but because they are all frustrating. You can use ad blockers to block ads.
When it is considered an addiction it can't be stopped until there are no funds. Once a person becomes addicted cant stop gambling until the person lost all of the funds. And still, the person can restart gambling if the person can manage funds again. Even if anyone enables (locks) the account for a few months still the person can restart gambling by opening a new account.
