put a +0.00005 at the end of your address and that will lower the difficulty and you should start getting shares.

This works like a charm! Had to wait a bit before the stratum stopped finding new blocks all the time and start working, after that it has been spitting out coins.

Here's my command line:

./minerd --url=stratum+tcp://us-east1.cryptovein.com:3333 -u yourusername -p password
