Referee decisions are really disappointing this season. I really can't believe how the referee didn't call a penalty for Doku's challenge in the last minute... That challenge has really nothing in it to be defended. A player shouldn't be able to do whatever he want as long as he is touching the ball first. This is just a ridiculous rule.

There is an obvious kick to the chest there but the referee just wanted to act like there was nothing wrong.  Sad  We are still witnessing unbelievable decisions in even the Premier League which is called as the most prestigious league in Europe.

Liverpool and Manchester City had to settle for 1 point in the match, and made Liverpool have to be willing to give up the top position of the Premier League standings to Arsenal, regardless of the draw of the match certainly caused controversy over the referee's decision not to give Liverpool a penalty for an alleged right-footed hit from Jemy Doku into the chest of Mac Allister which made him fall in the penalty box,  I think the referee took the right decision to stop the game after the incident happened, but unfortunately the referee did not try to see with his own head and instead listened more to those in the Var room, if the referee might have run towards the Var screen and checked directly then maybe the decision would have been different in my opinion.

Now even on social media many have begun to question PGMOL neutrality in officiating a match which is indeed seen often making decisions that harm a team, and even now it seems that many claim that PGMOL often benefits Manchester City as happened in the match, but despite all the controversy in the match I do not see if there is another league in Europe that is indeed more prestigious than the league English.

It looks like Tottenham are going to determine the fate of these 3 title contenders.  Grin  Because Tottenham are going to play against each one of these teams by breaks of only a week. Liverpool seem to be the luckiest among these contenders as Tottenham players would be worn out more before coming to play away against Liverpool.  Smiley

Of course one shouldn't forget that Arsenal are still the leader at the moment. But in case they stumble - which is likely against Manchester City at the end of the month - then Liverpool can turn this fixture into their advantage all of a sudden.  Wink

Which one is your favourite to become the PL champions?

It wasn't the referee that waved play on after that incident but the VAR referees who told the referee in charge of the game to continue play. After the incident, the VAR referees called the match official to wait for a moment while they check of the incident was a penalty or not before they also signalled to him to continue play. Just like you said, I was very surprised to see that VAR didn't instruct the referee to go check his side monitor and make the final in that particular game. Football is one crazy sports that'll always leave is with shocking decisions sometimes even when we least expected it

Yesterday's draw in a big match at Anfield was a deserved result because both teams showed a very high level of play.

It would not be wrong if after the second draw, we will feel the tight competition between Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City because the point difference is very close, only 1 point between Manchester City and Liverpool and Arsenal.
It is not impossible that Manchester City can top the standings if Arsenal cannot maintain victory in every match.
The determination of who is worthy between Manchester City and Arsenal will occur in round 30.

Tight competition will also occur in places 5 and 6. Aston Villa, which continues to experience a decline in performance, will be taken advantage of by Tottenham. Manchester United will also try hard to move up one ranking from its current position.
I honestly hoped Liverpool would win that game. I want to see Klopp hold a farewell ceremony with Liverpool by winning the EPL title. It will be one of the best moments for Liverpool and fans. But City played very well in that match. Both teams showed the same level and of course a draw is a fair result for both teams. I think currently several leagues have already confirmed their champions so the matches will be boring to watch. But these results also make the English league even more exciting to watch. 3 teams are fighting for the championship title with only a difference of 1 point.
Liverpool were simply the better team in that game and I expected them to win the game but they weren't just prolific enough to convert their chances in that game even when they created so many clear chances. Pep Guardiola I think will be very happy with the result yesterday because his team was the weaker team but still managed to get a draw in a game that's as crucial as that game. Football will always remain the best sports because of the kind of quality moments it produces just like the game between Liverpool and Manchester City yesterday.

If they are in a position where this team cannot match their trophy haul, of course a draw is not the result they really want, even though a draw has made them feel like they are having trouble chasing points until the end of the season.
Regarding Klopp's wish to bid farewell to the title that Liverpool will win, many parties do not want it professionally because each of them has their own targets with their respective support teams.

Both teams for me play according to my taste. I want to come to the conclusion that they deserved to share the points at Anfield yesterday even though there was an incident where Liverpool should have received a penalty in the final minutes of the second half.

Looking at the game of the two teams yesterday obviously a draw is a fair result for both teams, I think now we will see the competition for the championship will be tighter because the three teams only have 1 point difference between them, the three teams still have a chance to change positions especially in the next two weeks another bigmatch match will also occur again in the Premier League between Manchester City and Arsenal.

Even though Man City players are generally of higher quality, the rigid style of play that has shaped the brand will not be easy to change. It is highly appreciated, but Man City cannot beat Liverpool. The two teams played openly, constantly giving each other tit for tat. The match could have had more than two goals if the opportunities were fully utilized. Although their strength could be stronger, Liverpool can make it difficult for any opponent at home. Liverpool is also unafraid to push their squad to play double-attacks with their opponents. The 1-1 draw was even somewhat unfair to Liverpool, as the number of opportunities and the quality of opportunities they created were both better than Man City. At the end of the match, Liverpool was also denied a confusing penalty when Doku kicked Mac Allister in the penalty area. Man City has survived a tsunami in Anfield.

Talking about Erling Haaland in the whole match, he only touched the ball 21 times, lost the ball once, and never won an aerial battle. This was a disappointing match for Erling Haaland, as he was utterly outclassed by Virgil Van Dijk. I actually think Van Dijk is a better centre-back than Haaland as a striker. This is a battle between the best centre-back and the best striker. And Virgil van Dijk won. Klopp's introduction of Salah and Andy Robertson created space for Diaz to move and exploit the hole. Diaz played with enthusiasm, constantly tormenting Man City's defense.
The battle for the EPL continues as we saw the two top teams playing out another 1-1 draw which means them both sharing the spoils. This was also a great draw for Arsenal as they remain top of the EPL table. Arsenal now have to maintain consistency but one big deal is that they’ve got more matches against the big 6 as compared to these 2. This draw was quite expected but the match was sincerely fascinating. The match is what we would love to talk about today, how it all went down for these 2 teams in yesterday’s encounter. A second half penalty goal from Mac Allister canceled out a John Stones lead in a brilliant 1st half contest.

Liverpool were very tremendous after the break and they caused Man City and Pep some sort of worry and this was a warning message to Arsenal too, that they’re very serious and ready for the challenge. No damage was done to their title challenge rather they’re just behind on Goal Difference and with their performance yesterday, you can begin to think that the goal difference might not be much a worry for this side. With that draw, I think City are so delighted knowing they can at least snatch a point from Liverpool at Anfield. They could have killed the game in the first half but they couldn’t take their chanceS and also in the last minutes too but the chances weren’t converted.

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola’s Premier League rivalry came to a pulsating conclusion with a tense and tenacious 1-1 draw between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield. The final chapter continues with just 1 points separating these teams, it also leaves Arsenal on top with some high goal difference between them and Liverpool. Erling was no where in that match and I felt he was supposed to be the sub off and not KDB. VVD keeps poving why he’s the vest centre back as he kept Erling in his pockets and also exploited upfront and the introduction of Robertson and Salah was real spot on by Klopp. This Liverpool side seems real fierce and I already see them as EPL winners.
The guardiola-klopp rivalry was one of the defining elements of today's football in tactical terms. Both coaches pushed each other hard. If you look at the matches between them, you realise how much of a headache klopp was for guardiola. Even in seasons when liverpool didn't perform well, klopp was able to come up with surprises. Mohamed salah, Trent alexander-arnold and Alisson Becker are more or less half of this team. But the advantage is that even without them, the team has been winning important games for a few weeks now and klopp's departure at the end of the season has become an extra motivation. If luis diaz and darwin nunez were a little more skilful in finishing, the game could have been easily won.

I think Liverpool really learned how to beat Manchester City by shutting down Haaland throughout the game, I saw when there is a team that can trouble Manchester City is when that team can keep Haalan's movement tight, I quite remember when during the Arsenal vs Manchester City match in the first game of the season when Saliba managed to keep Haalaand tight and Haalaand was even quite frustrated because he couldn't score In that match and finally made Arsenal win 1-0, the same thing we saw also in last night's match how Van Djik managed to kill Haaland's movement and even Van Djik managed to stick and disturb Haaland when Haaland was only left one-on-one with Kelleher.

Yes, yesterday's match was very tense even though Liverpool dominated the match, but look, Manchester City put up very good resistance several times, making Liverpool's defense panic when Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne tried to apply pressure towards the goal.
In fact, Liverpool wasted a lot of opportunities because they lacked focus, like what Nunez and Luiz Diaz did, where it was very clear that they lacked concentration and if only these two opportunities could be utilized well, they would definitely get a winning score.
Not only Liverpool but de Bruyne and Haaland also wasted a very good opportunity to almost score but for some reason these two clubs seemed to have the same pressure because Manchester City was a little stressed playing away but Liverpool felt pressured because they were playing against the strongest team like Manchester City and the result a draw is not commensurate with the tension between these two clubs, but actually this is the choice for both clubs to get 1 more meaningful point.

For me, it doesn't mean that Haaland and the other players are not productive, but as you yourself said, competing at Anfield is not an easy job and we can see how if Ederson had not made a mistake on Nunez which resulted in a penalty, Manchester City would have won the match.
Not only was Manchester City less productive but Liverpool also didn't give a very strong performance because the 1 score that Liverpool got was only from a penalty kick and if that didn't happen maybe the PL title competition would have ended because Manchester City won.

It was Liverpools eagerness to win every single ball they lost that impressed me, so much high spirits. Both Pep Guardiola enjoyed the game and has said nothing more but reign praises on themselves and their respective clubs.
Only if that Jeremy Doku penalty should have been looked at by the Var then Liverpool should have been the winners of that game yesterday against Manchester City.
It does feels like the match official was protecting Manchester City players more than he did with Liverpool. Officials in the modern day gane are no longer transparent in them decision making.

Liverpool did well, they just couldn't capitalize the chances they had both Luiz Diaz and Darwin Nunez missed clear cut chances which should yave lead to goal.

Interesting game to be honest Liverpool should have won the game but they missed all of the golden chances they had to end the game. Both Darwin Nunez and Luiz Diaz did miss chances they shouldn't have missed in the first place.
Anfield is not one easy place to win against Liverpool, no matter how good they're I mean the opponents the best results they could get out of the egakr would be to draw that match same way it was this evening with Manchester City.

Players like Kevin De Bruyne and Bernado Silva weren't productive and creative so the likes of Alvarez and Erling Haaland couldn't find the back of the net in this game and also thanks to the Liverpool defenders even without Konate. Jurgen Klopps substitute made sense, he was ready to attack all til the game ends.

Manchester City disagrees!!! The lads in the city camp are very much hungry to collect another title to their name as they play catch up in terms of number of titles got by all EPL teams...

And that Liverpool City game, let's not run away from the inevitable...City are winning this game no doubt  Roll Eyes
The game is actually going towards my expectation I knew from the beginning that the Liverpool vs Manchester city game is going to likely end being a draw game , for Arsenal to have their way on top of the premier league table once again , both teams strength are equal, though I expected more than 2 goals in this match ,I initially thought the goals would reach like about 4 goals, making it end in a 2-2 draw.

Well we all saw a great exhibition From a City team that did wonderfully as a visitor, a Haaland and a Fodden, they will always make the difference in this team, in fact many things I saw in City, the biggest weakness I saw is that Pep He took out De Bruyne and he was in the cameras and discontent and the exchange of words, that even Pep himself went to talk to De Bruyne and the getos on De Bruyne's part were not very friendly, they focused on that, so I think there are problems Between Those two, I hope they get fixed because De Bruyen is crucial in every game, I read that Otero player was dissatisfied with the PEP and they didn't put him in because he wasn't ready, he wasn't performing, Pe is a coach with a lot of discipline, and for that reason it has good Results.

Pep Guardiola sends request to Kevin De Bruyne after Man City star's anger at being substituted vs Liverpool

The frustration shown by Kevin De Bruyne at being taken off during Manchester City’s title clash with Liverpool must be turned into motivation for his next performance, according to Pep Guardiola.

De Bruyne set up City’s goal at Anfield as John Stones scored from a smart corner routine but the Reds levelled early in the second half via Alexis Mac Allister’s penalty.

Source: https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/pep-guardiola-kevin-de-bruyne-man-city-liverpool-fc-b1144363.html

This is evident, things with Pep are at Another level , there are things that he doesn't say, he only keeps them to himself, and over the years he says them, that's what happened with Messi, he was always a player who for him was the best in the world, however this Causes more fury, Because Pep Guardiola always has things Going well for him, he is like a Zidane the time he had problems in Madrid with the Colombian James Rodriguez, since every time he entered The Colombian scored a goal, but Zidane didn't pass it, but who is going to refute something to Zidane , if he saw something he didn't like, he didn't accept it and that's it.

To me it's quite normal that they will both disagree at some point,  since they aren't seeing things the same way, and what we football lovers have to understand is that their are so many good players with winning mentality in this Manchester city team, any decisions made by the coach that they feels like wouldn't give them the desired result, will definitely be kicked against, even as he was brought out, their was some excitement in the stands of the Liverpool fans because they actually knows how good kelvin de bruyne is, and the threat his carries, so I think de bruyne is right, the game became easier for Liverpool the moment he left the pitch, and that decision affected the Manchester city team negatively.

The game between Liverpool vs Manchester city is already underway, with the few minutes played so far, Manchester city have been the better and dominant team so far, and they are already winning by a goal to nil, a goal scored by John stone from the Conner, this Liverpool team needs to step up and do better if they want to stay in the fight for the title race, because much is expected especially in this game that they are playing their direct rival for the league title, so they have to prove that they are up for it. Let's just watch and see how this game goes, if Liverpool can actually get their own goal, or Manchester city doubling their lead.

In that round there were 3 games that had a draw and they were games that in a way the draw did not cause any great surprise, but I will talk about the recent game that had a draw, I am talking about the Manchester City game against Liverpool, in that game both teams were playing a lot Well, focusing on defense so that they wouldn't concede too many goals, and also focusing on attack, Manchester City is known for having a squad made up of excellent players, but this result shows how Liverpool are very strong and are a very strong candidate for win the premier league, but with this draw liverpool will need to count on arsenal and manchester city losing a game, something that will be very difficult to happen, fortunately in the next few weeks arsenal will play against manchester city, this will be a game in which they will eliminate one of these two teams in the race for the title

Arsenal will need to work hard if they want to beat Manchester City, especially in defense, I believe that in Arsenal's game against Manchester City the team with the best defense will win, if the game ends in a draw, then they will put Liverpool in the lead and with greater chances of winning the premier league. It will be very interesting to follow Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City's next games. Now talking about the teams competing for position 4, Aston Villa and Tottenham are the two main teams with the best chances of finishing in position 4 and going to the European Champions League next season, in that round Aston Villa played against Tottenham in a game that I thought would end with few goals, but I was surprised by Aston Villa's humiliating defeat

the 1 half ended without any goals and I thought that Aston Villa were having a good defense and that in the 2 half they would maintain the same posture, but to my surprise in the 2 half Tottenham started much better than in the 1 half and their attack improved they even scored 2 goals in the first minutes of the 2nd half and then scored two more goals, and Aston Villa were unable to at least score 1 goal, they conceded 4 goals in that game, it was a very humiliating defeat, with this result Tottenham is more close to position 4. tottenham and aston villa are unstable teams, which is why in my opinion it is very difficult to predict which of these two teams will be able to finish in position 4

Honestly both of their goals came from penalty and that is why I think it's quite important to realize that Manchester United is still not looking all that great, they are not overpowering anyone and that's the most important part. I believe that we are going to see them fire ETH and that should be the most important thing. I think that's the most important thing, if they fire the manager then they are going to end up being much better.

I understand that they have loaded the team with who he wants, and that's definitely something, but that doesn't mean that we are going to see anything major changing. So all in all, we are going to end up with a whole rebuild of that team eventually, a few players may stay like Garnacho for sure, but many will have to change.

To Be Or Not To Be
- snip -

Only 5 minutes into the second half did Liverpool manage to equalize through the penalty point.
Now the afternoon is 1-1 and the match is running with higher tension which makes the match even more fierce.
Seeing that the game between Liverpool and Manchester City is quite even, but I bet on Liverpool, I think with the full support of the fans they will be able to win this match.

Liverpool is unbeaten at home in this season/league and I dont think Mancity able to break that record today.
I dont want to see a draw but it looks like it will end with a draw, any point from this match is very important for both teams.
Im sure in the last 10 minutes - Liverpool will not attack carelessly anymore, better get 1 point and still lead the league than to give Mancity 3 points.
