I hope to see some improvement from the decisions of the referees after this break ends. The Premier League is called as the most prestigious European league. There is no place for such simple mistakes here.

Referees making controversial decisions are normal in football. There are many controversies that have been recorded in history. That's all in the past. Nowadays the world is sophisticated and football has used VAR which should be able to make referee decisions cleaner. It is very unfortunate when the most prestigious league in Europe or even in the world but the referee makes such a simple mistake. I really regret the referee's attitude.

By the way what do you think about the referees in the league so far? Do you think they have been fair about their decisions generally? Because lately we have started to see huge mistakes by even VAR. You should remember the huge mistake made in the Tottenham - Liverpool game. Diaz's goal was a clean one but VAR disallowed it.  Sad

Let me tell you what I think about the referees right now. I also agree with you that there have been unbelievable mistakes despite the presence of VAR system. If even VAR is going to make such mistakes easily then what is the point of having it, right?

PGMOL also admitted after the match that Diaz's goal wasn't given unrightfully. We have seen a couple of incidents like this related to goals, cards and so on. I hope to see some improvement from the decisions of the referees after this break ends. The Premier League is called as the most prestigious European league. There is no place for such simple mistakes here.

I think that win by Arsenal over Manchester City in Emirates could be an indicator of a thing for this season. I mean Arsenal might maintain the title competition until the final week this time. You know how they fought for it last season for a long time. However they started a really bad streak on the final weeks which eased Manchester City's job a lot.

This time Arsenal seem even more dedicated at least for now. Winning against Manchester City in a big game isn't easy normally.
Arsenal is no doubt a title contender but it's too early to see them as a favourite just because they won Manchester City, the defending champion. The league has just started, there's going to be more games to be played, there's going to be injury worries and a manager ability to keep his team fit will determine how far they will go. Last season, at some point the team became fatigued and most persons claimed that Arsenal's lack of depth cost them the EPL trophy. Arsenal might make same mistake again or it could be that Mikel Arteta has learnt his mistakes, but very soon time will tell.
You are completely right, I myself was among those who expected Arsenal to in the EPL trophy last season, but unfortunately, just as yo have said, just towards the end of the season, when they were expected to play even better than they have played since the beginning of the last season, I personally can not tell what actually happened to them, whether fatigue, or they become too overwhelmed, I cant say, all I know was that they started losing and drawing games which ordinarily, they should win easily. This indeed at the end of the season cost them the EPL trophy.

Personally though, i will want to believe that not just the manager/coach of the team, but the entire team as a whole must have learnt from that mistake, and are well prepared to make sure the same does not repeat itself again this season.

And yes, it is too early to begin to see Arsenal as the favorite team in the season, there are still a lot of games to be played just as you have said, but then, i hope Arsenal will continue to give us a good game play going even further to the end of the season.

That is for sure. Even though they were able to achieve victory, it was not an easy victory against a team of Brentford's level. United are still far from a solid team. If we talk about the defense line, I agree with your opinion that Lindelof and Maguire are playing quite badly and I wonder why Manchester United is not looking for a replacement for the two of them? Is it because the substitute defender is far below them?

Varane hasn't been able to play properly since the beginning of the season. Because he got injured and he is newly getting fit. Martinez is still injured as it seems. In this situation Erik ten Hag's hands have been tied about this situation unfortunately. Otherwise I'm feeling sure that we would see neither Maguire nor Lindelof there.  Smiley

Maybe McTominay became the hero for Manchester United with those 2 goals. However this is still not enough to change the fact that they are in a really alarming situation. It is difficult to trust them even in the matches against weakest teams of the league now. There is a significant problem with especially defending these days.

This weakness caused them to get a big hit in the Champions League by Galatasaray and Bayern Munich both. Because of dealing with injuries on one hand as well their defense line has become much more unreliable. Players like Lindelof, Maguire aren't very good defenders I'm afraid.

Congratulations to Mctominay for keeping Eric Ten Hag in his seat. When Brentford scored that goal at Manchester United's stadium, I thought it was over. After that devastating defeat in the Champions League, they fell behind in the 25th minute at home. Things were looking horrible. To be honest, Brentford had a great defence, better than I expected. But the last minutes were fantastic. Let's forget about what Manu have been going through and just look at that ending. It was utterly fantastic. On the other hand, even though Manu's offence was not bad, things are not looking bright for them this season.

Lots of Congratulations indeed for Mctominay who stepped up and saved Man United from yet another humiliating home defeat. The match had gone deep into the second half and Man United had yet to score an equalizer. Looking back on their previous losses, I had very little hope that could struggle to end the game with a draw.
Very surprising and exciting to see the lads fired up and putting in pressure that broke through the defenses of Brentford twice, scoring just enough goals to win the game. Ten Hag was visibly happy when the second goal was scored. I bet he was relieved his boys didn’t lose this game. His approval ratings aren’t looking too great.

On the other hand Tottenham are also likely to join this duo in the title competition if they go on like this. Ange Postecoglou has made a big progress so far.  Smiley

I don’t see how Ten Hag would be anything short of praise and gratitude to McTominay for coming off the bench and scoring 2 goals in less than 5 minutes within the plus times to enable Manchester United take the lead. It was a lost course already with the compact nature of the Brentford defense but, McTominay was better positioned every time and this time, Maguire was on the assist!
It was a really good day for Manchester United, and the comeback in the final five minutes of the second half really surprised manager Erik ten Hag. Mc Tominay did everything in his power to give the red devils the advantage by scoring twice in the game's extra period. I believe that Manchester United simply had a lucky day and capitalised on it. Erik ten Hag needs to develop if the team is to succeed, even if I am aware that they are going through a difficult time. The team's comeback thrilled the red devil supporters. I believe Maguire is now doing what is known for with a great performance in the game.

I don't know who to thank because maybe, Erik ten Hag realized McTominay quality if he came on as a substitute. It is also possible, basically Erik ten Hag have a plan to enter McTominay from the bench, until finally McTominay managed to make two goals for the win result for Manchester United in the match. After all, it seems that not only McTominay is the hero in this match, because it seems that Maguire can also suddenly play well this match by successfully making an assist also for the goal made by McTominay. So yes, at least it can be concluded that Manchester United managed to play as a team in this match so that they managed to make a comeback by beating Brentford.

Well, I think if Erik Ten Had lost the game he would had still retain his position as the manager of the club even though most of the fans are against ETH and would really prefer the board sack, well the coach might have his own share of the blame for the team's poor  performance but the problem is not really the coaches fault, united would begin to perform well again when their current owners decide to sell the club to a new owner that's ready to invest into the team.

I also think that way. Regardless of ETH's performance in coaching United, I think we should give ETH a chance to finish this season with the target of at least qualifying for UEFA. Manchester United actually also needs a club owner who is willing to invest because United's reserve players cannot match the quality of the main players. This is a problem and I think every coach will also have difficulties if they cannot rotate their players.
And currently Man United does not have the option to replace Erik Ten Hag. So for several seasons, we will still see Erik Ten Hag with Man United. Regardless of whether it will get better or not, it depends on the player's condition because if you look at today the opportunity to qualify further and secure a ticket to the UCL next season is getting slimmer. The strongest candidate will again be taken by Liverpool and maybe Tottenham will end up finishing in the top 4. Man United's fate is in the hands of the Glazer family. If they are able to provide profitable policies such as providing a maximum budget, then it is possible that the problems they are facing can be corrected.

@hyudien ETH is not a bad coach but for some weird reason he’s not taking the bold decision of benching his star player’s and since the player’s know that they won’t be dropped their hunger to perform has evaporated. Furthermore while ETH has fixed a lot and those injuries clearly didn’t help but his poor transfer decisions and his selection of player’s could have cost him his job but for now Manchester United owner’s don’t want to sack him but few more loses and they’ll be forced to sack him.

With this winning result, it is expected to be a turning point for Chelsea to be even better for the next matches ahead. Although in my personal view, the win against Fulham was not a great victory result either because after all, on paper it was an obligation for Chelsea to win . Because yes, after all Fulham is a mediocre team which certainly has a quality that is far different from Chelsea. So in my personal assessment this victory is an ordinary result, and it does not seem to be a guarantee that Chelsea will be better . But maybe, because I also consider Chelsea current bad moment, then at least I also hope that this win can make Chelsea better than before.
It's too early to conclude that the blues are back on track after registering a back to back win. It will take more good results for me to be convinced that Chelsea's woes are over. However, it's good to see them fight for a comeback in the game against Burnley after trailing behind by a goal from Oderbert. They put up a good fight and in the end they got a well deserved 3 points.

One win from Chelsea is not enough confirmation to say that they are in for the game, if they have subsequent wins, and few draws with no losses, then I may change my views. The fact that they will all be going back for an international break is going to be another hindrance to staying consistent, if all the players go for their international league, there is tendency that some players will be exhausted or even sustain injury if they are not careful enough especially that are still struggling to stay ahead.

Quote
At Old Trafford, we had similar outcome, United came back and won the game with McTominay,  an unlikely scorer sealing the win with a brace. Manchester United were able to win the game but their performance was poor. It would have been really bad if they had suffered another defeat at Old Trafford after been beaten few days ago by Galatasaray.

I will still give them some credit, it's not easy to win a match when everyone has given up on your dreams, Manchester United are not too different from Chelsea because even in the Champions League, they are sitting in the fourth place in the group A. If they get eliminated from the group, they will coming home and by that, they don't make any difference with Chelsea who never even smell the group stage in first place.

I'm inclined to expect Ten Hag to do better in the Champions League this season instead of expecting him to do so next year. Manchester United seems unlikely to be expected to qualify for the Champions League next season because teams other than Liverpool and Tottenham have been in their best form this season.

Manchester United can certainly compete, but when the form of other teams is compared, I believe Manchester United and Chelsea will not be able to get it. Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City look more convincing and this has made me doubt Manchester United and Chelsea this season.

Well injury crisis is another problem that's really affected them this season, most of their key player from the defense, about 4 starting players from the defense line and United doesn't have any better replacement for team, Erik Ten Hag was even forced to play lindelof at the left due to lack of options in that area, but I believe when most of their injured players return, they'll begin to do better again.

It was one of the most dramatic games I've seen this season. I think Ten Haag will be sacked if United lose that game again. Ten Hag had to praise and thank McTominay for his outstanding performance.
Dramatic because Manchester United won in extra minutes. If Brentfrod makes a comeback like Manchester United did, then everyone will comment on how bad Manchester United's game is.

Don't get fired straight away. Wait and the opportunity must be given to Erik ten Hag to recreate Manchester United's best form until the first half of this season. If in the second half of this season Manchester United's game continues to deviate from expectations, management can fire them as long as it has a good impact on the club.
I think it would be very wise that way.

I thought that Man United would face defeat again. They dominated the game, but all these efforts still did not result in a goal. Conditions changed when Ten Hag brought on McTominay to replace Sofyan Amrabat in the 87th minute. Even though McTominay only played a few minutes, he played a role as a player who was at the right time and position to bring victory to Man United.
