We saw Arsenal win against Ipswich. But I expected a more organized gameplay from Arsenal. Because Ipswich Town is a weak team. Ipswich Town is in the relegation zone. At the same time, Ipswich Town's defense is very weak. In such a situation, we would naturally expect Arsenal to win their home match by a large margin. But Arsenal won this match by a small margin of 1-0.
Arsenal also won the last match against Crystal Palace by a large margin of 5-0. But Arsenal could not score more than one goal against Ipswich. Ipswich players played defensively. Arsenal players did not try to attack much either.
However, Arsenal needed 3 points to occupy the second place in the points table. And they managed to achieve it. The top spot of the table is now occupied by Liverpool and Arsenal is in second place.
Yes a far more organized game play from Arsenal. I have followed the game in the first half and they had hardly chances created, which is a shame because they had 85% ball possession over 20 minutes I think. But it kept going like that and improved a little bit in the second half, but no knockout goal against Ipswich Town. For the sake of excitement I think it is good that Arsenal won because otherwise the Premier League will be over in 4 weeks from now and we can call Liverpool the new champion, but the way that Arsenal was trying to save this win rather than score a second and a third goal made me hope that Ipswich Town gets their lucky moment and score the equalizer. I really wished it would have happened. It was so deserved because that is what sets Liverpool apart from teams like Arsenal. Liverpool does not preserve, they can preserve for sure but their game is to keep up the pressure by attacking. So far it has worked great for Liverpool and all other teams can't keep up with the pace that Slot's team is going.
Their is a saying in modern day football which says, the best way to defend or preserve your lead, is to attack, and that is exactly what Liverpool is doing, and this is what sets them apart from the rest of the other teams, what arsenal did last night was too dangerous because a single goal from this Ipswich side will destroy or spoil all they toil for throughout the night, so it was actually not ideal too me, though they got the whole three points at the end but it wasn't an easy ride, because that game plan was a dangerous one which wouldn't have gone down well with the arsenal faithful if they have drew that game, especially now that Chelsea lost their own game.
Then as for the title race, in my own perspective nothing is guaranteed now, and even if Liverpool opens a 15points lead, I wouldn't give them the title just yet because reverse fixture is just getting started, so their are like 18 more matches to play for, so I wouldn't be 100% convince yet that Liverpool will win the league Because their are more 18 matches to play if am correct, so we are just a half way into the marathon, nothing is certain for now.
