Despite launching a squad with many young players and reserves, Liverpool quickly dominated. Klopp sent the three best strikers he had, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo, to the field from the start to help them find the feeling of scoring goals. Although Norwich created a few small surprises, Liverpool's players showed their class and convincingly advanced to the next round. This is the perfect momentum run for Klopp and his team before the match against Chelsea.
It seemed like an easy match in the fourth round, but MU had to work hard to defeat fourth-place team Newport County. It's worth mentioning here that the return of Lisandro Martinez cannot bring immediate results. Or, to be more precise, he alone is not enough to cover up the mistakes in MU's defense. If Newport County is luckier, it's unknown what will happen. Anyway, with this result, MU has won a ticket to play in round 5.
Liverpool's performance is quite consistent even though they rotate a lot of players, I am not surprised by the performance and wins they achieved and also Norwich is a team whose quality is far below Liverpool so it is almost impossible for them to win the match.
I think many of the favorite teams don't field the main squad because they have much weaker opponents and things are fierce and a lot of goals are scored which is normal but the most important thing is the final result and there were no surprises this week, the victory was celebrated by I think Manchester United is not much different from what Liverpool experienced.
I must say that I am very happy that Liverpool didn't disappoint me this season. It was as if it was heresy when I said they would be wonderful this season, that was when they were still very much challenged but there have been some good reasons to have that instinct they are surely moving out of the woods, and it was fast unlike Man U and Chelsea. I now see people joining as usual, it is what is fully cooked that people see not when it is still not yet set. This is what Jürgen Klopp also realises when the club is back on track, he is trying to move out when the ovation is still very loud once again. I will always wish the guy well. Also, for the Norwich City match in the FA Cup yesterday, no one should think otherwise, Liverpool at the top is not just in the same category as Norwich City when it comes to the present feat, this explains the huge goals scored in both the first and second half of the games. Well, kudos also to Norwich City who could score 2 goals against them in both halves of the match, it could have been worse if Liverpool was not on fire.
Going forward, I see Liverpool topping the EPL table, they deserve it and any more mistakes from the likes of Man City will help them climb better. They are 5 points clear of Man City, Arsenal and Aston Villa, but I believe that it is only Man City that can chase them with a more determined mind and morale among them. It will be a tug-of-war on Wednesday when Liverpool and Arsenal meet, needless to say, it is happening in the home of Arsenal. This will be a tough game even though I believe Liverpool will still win judging by their current feat, though Arsenal is on fire too, yet I still rate Liverpool better. The home advantage is one big issue now to the point that the probability online is 45% that Arsenal will win while Liverpool was given 30%, and the rest goes to the draw, yet, I see it differently.
Well, the day is far approaching and I can't wait to see Liverpool some points better than what they are currently. If not, this might be an advantage for Man City as I believe they will win Burnley, but it will be another tug-of-war between Aston Villa and Newcastle, that's provided Newcastle is serious this time. Their performances have really dropped compared to that of last season.
