It looks like Man City are really facing a serious problem. 5 consecutive defeats are unearthly things for them, and if Guardiola can't find out the cause and anticipate it, then their bad phase will keep going, and they will likely miss this season. For some reason, they can no longer make clinical finishing, and too many chances are wasted. That is further exacerbated with the vulnerability of their backline.
5 consecutive losses in a row, does that not tells us that something is missing?, Which IMO, it's Rodri. Now, if some of us here followed up well with the man city game, we will surely noticed that their flop didn't start since they had their first loss, but it started since they played arsenal. Rodri got injured in that game and arsenal had a red card. City literally struggle to score a 10 man arsenal until the very last minute of the game. Take a look at other games that came after that, it was a slight win margin of 1nil, until they met with Bournemouth, that was when their energy decreased and the whole thing was exposed.
I watched the game yesterday, and the truth is, pep didn't play a different game that he has been playing even while Rodri was present, which was a massive mistake. Playing gundogan and lewis as DM was a bad decision because Kovacic wasn't even present. Walker and Gvardiol we're literally pressing high while no DM was present, and IMO, that lead to the four goals that was conceded.
The sad truth is, I believe pep will play a similar game next week when they face Liverpool because that has always been his style.
