I couldn't believe Manchester City later lost to Brighton even when they had the lead against Brighton. I don't know how long Manchester City will continue to display this kind of performance in the Premier League, but if Pep Guardiola knows he can't handle Manchester City again, he should let Manchester City management know so that they can look for a new coach who can handle Manchester City. Pep Guardiola has been with Manchester City for a long time, and he should have known how to manage his squad anytime Kevin de Bruyne was not fit, but he always struggled to win matches when Kevin de Bruyne was absent from the Manchester City squad.

I think almost all of us are surprised by this defeat, as we know Manchester City were defeated by Bournemouth last week so they have to win today to catch up with points from Liverpool but what we see is that they are defeated for the 2nd time somehow they lost 6 points from the last 2 matches. I don't understand why suddenly Manchester City's performance is so bad, is it only unlucky day or is there another problem? Liverpool certainly take advantage of this situation and keep gathering more points to lock the top of the standings. In the next match Manchester City will play Tottenham, will they lose more points?
For a club that calls themselves the best team, having four consecutive Premier league title and yet cannot win majority of their games just because some specific players are injured, City has lost 4 straight games in all their competitions, i begin to doubt if they will be fortunate for another time to beat the record and retain their position. Liverpool are currently leading with a one goal to Nil against Aston Villa, if the result should continue in favor of Liverpool then the points difference will be extremely much to cover up which definitely will cost City a lot to surpass for the top position and Liverpool some loses in other to drop points. Liverpool are just becoming the favorite.

And unfortunately Man City's slump continues in the away match against Brighton today even though Pep Guardiola's troops have tried their best to win the match but must admit it is difficult, in the end Man City had to lose again for the 4th time.
On the other hand, Brighton was able to rise after previously being 1 goal behind impressively in the minutes before the end of the second half with 2 goals.
This final result is quite disappointing for some people and temporarily makes Liverpool sit comfortably at the top of the standings.

I think this is not just a disappointing result for some fans, but a disastrous one for many bettors. Maybe someone doubted City's victory and did not bet on this outcome (odds 1.76) but even the City double chance quote was very generous - 1.22. I considered the possibility of making such a bet, but after I did not have time to make a bet on Real Madrid, I changed my mind (and I am very glad about this because it would have been a multiple bet).

In today's premier League fixture between Brighton football club and Manchester city, the citizens would be looking forward to getting out of their winning drought after suffering two straight loses in the league against Bournemouth and in the champions league against sporting Lisbon. Manchester city would be presented with opportunity of redeeming themselves once again by getting back to winning ways against old foes Brighton who also would be seeking to stop Pep Guardiola 's boys from taking all 3 points in what seems to be a must win for both teams. Its an important game for the two sides and a lot would be at stake and the three points here would be very vital for either teams, so I think Manchester city are going to win this one.
Your prediction that Manchester City was going to win their game against Brighton today didn't materialize as the home team through Joao Pedro and O'Riley scored two late goals to hand Pep Guardiola City their fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions. Just like you,  I didn't see such a result coming and that's because Manchester City in the past two weeks have lost three important matches so I thought they'll be approaching the game with all seriousness but Fabian Hurzeler's men had a better performance and rightly deserved their win.

They were sure to try everything but even a 9+ minutes isn’t enough to save them this time. I knew they weren’t going to get an easy game from Brighton this time with that lackluster performance they’ve been about. A mid first half goal was enough to put them ahead as if, they were up to something but suddenly, they couldn’t keep up in the second half. The team is some worth diluted of its quality with KDB and the Ballon D’or winner Rodri out. They need them both on the pitch as it is, there is only how much Silva, Doku and Foden can do which, isn’t helping so well.
Manchester City without KDB and Rodri is a reck, we are just seeing more proof, but I think they will bounce back since they are often in a bad state in performance often around this time of the year. Also they are quite lucky that the January transfer window is close by and so can strengthen their squad by then. The match was shocking to me but a good win for Brighton.
The worse we see now for the Manchester City club they have to lose in a row several times and this time in the Premier League did not get points, it is possible to stay away from Liverpool if they win today.

As Doku and Grealish are injured, in addition to De Bruyne who has not been able to recover even if he plays as a reserve, it will still not be optimal in their game, is it possible that now in defense is weak?

Ake and Akanji are always on the bench even though I see their defense is solid.
Manchester City seems to be moving away from Liverpool, because Liverpool is already leading 1-0 over Aston Villa. Although the match is still ongoing if you look at Liverpool's style of play, besides dominating the game, they also created several opportunities, I think Liverpool will win this match at home and stay at the top of the standings. Manchester City is currently weak especially in its defense line, and Manchester City previously did not care who played and also always replaced injured players or for other reasons with great players or those with the same quality, it seems that Manchester City is no longer a scary team.

Manchester City heads into the match against Brighton on the back of three consecutive losses—a rare streak for Guardiola's team. However, these losses were in the League Cup and Champions League, with only one recent defeat in the Premier League, against Bournemouth. All of these setbacks happened in away games, where City has struggled to find consistent form in attack, partly due to the absence of key players like Rodri and De Bruyne.

I expect City to show resilience against Brighton, as they cannot afford to drop more points. I believe Guardiola will find a way to sharpen their attacking play, and City should secure a win despite the challenges with their lineup.

Another disappointing end to a game once more in which they were on the lead but later lost it to their opponent. Manchester city now are currently in their worse form ever for quite some period of time, I mean it's been a really long we witness Manchester city to actually lose 4 games on a row, i mean back to back this is really disappointing and it just shows how important the likes of rodri is to this club.

Manchester City will try whatever to get three points against Brighton since they have lost two games in a row, and if they are truly serious in winning the Premier League trophy this season, they will not get three points tonight. They performance in the first half was very interesting, and they were in good form to win the match, but now that I see 2-1, I don't think they can win anymore because Brighton is dominating the second half very well, and their fans are motivating the players and they are doing well, Guadiola is confused, and he doesn't know what to do anymore, this will be a bad night for Manchester City fans and players because they are losing every week, which is a shame on Guadiola. Liverpool are playing against Aston Villa and am sure Liverpool will do anything possible to achieve three point with them, because they are even playing at home and they will try so that they will give Manchester City a big gap in the league table,  let see how the game will end against Brighton and Manchester City. They are pursuing Brighton tight but they are defending well.
What a turn around for the home side as they were able to come back in the second half to win the game from one goal down. Brighton played impressively in the second half and was able to outsmart City in the match.

Another lost from City today, making it four consecutive lost, which is the first to happen in history since four years back. Brighton was able to win City for the first time since 2006, making it the second time since history. What is wrong with Pep and his men, is it that most clubs have understood his game pattern and it is no longer working.
Brighton played some impressive football today not minding the class of the opponent thereby making the Manchester city side look like a youth team, am so delighted about how the clubs in the premier league are able to face the big sides in the league unlike last season when Manchester city could beat nearly every team in league, I think this is quite different and an improvement of last season which is quite good for the league because the competition is growing bigger and there seems to more competitive clubs in the league this time around than it was before now.

Let love lead
Haaland long legs is really beneficial to him, else the defender would've gotten to it first and cleared it, but his reflexes are classical and he got to the ball first and swiped it in. He could've made it two safe from the bar and slight deflection from the keeper. Welbeck's penalty was denied by Var and I think it's home advantage that got played out. The game is interesting and the pressure is real. I'm really enjoying the power tussle between the two teams.

I hope Man City can maintain the score advantage or maybe increase it. Leading by 1 goal will not make it safe for Man City even though they play dominantly. Brighton is not a weak team and they can give a surprise if they get a chance. Brighton still played quite well even though they didn't get enough chances. Many of their attacks failed but Man City if they want to get 3 points from this match must not let Brighton get more chances. both of them played a fairly fast-tempo game. it must be tiring for all players.
It is obvious Manchester city could not keep up to Brighton's pace and tactics, hence they conceded two goals in 5 minutes by Joao Pedro and O'Riley which ensured Brighton's victory and keeping the the points at home. It's very entertaining watching this match, I think Pep made some real bad mistakes bringing in the likes of De Bruyne who is not yet very fit tho measure up with the Brighton guys tempo which clearly he couldn't.

Brighton lost a lot of chances, clear cut chances for that matter, else the score line would've been messier than it already is. The most important thing is that they won the match and Joao Pedro made up for all his shortcomings with his goal and assist. Congratulations to them

Manchester City are currently only two points behind Liverpool in the Premier League standings, but that does not mean Manchester City are a bad team because Manchester City still have time to reclaim the first position from Liverpool this season. And in today's away game I also have no doubt that Manchester City can beat Brighton, because if the result of the match is a draw, of course Manchester City will be even further behind Liverpool if Liverpool can win again at home in today's match by hosting Aston Villa.
I believe 2 points is nothing, specially for a team like City who does play for long term. I mean they just had their first ever three in a row loss since 2018, that means it has been 6 years since they had a 3 in a row loss, more than six years even. I would venture they already maxed out on their losses for a while, and they are going to end up winning most of their games from here on out.

This means, Liverpool will eventually lose a game, or even get a few ties, and City will be ahead one again. That is what happens most of the time, City doesn't start out amazingly to the season, but then gradually they become better and better, which causes them to have a much better result, and much better deal without a doubt. I am guessing we are going to end up with something similar here as well, things will not be all that complicated and City will do the same thing that they did for a long time.

On the table, Brentford 10th while Bournemouth 11th

They are obviously of the same capacity. They are fighting it out against each other. First half ended 2:2 and in the second half,  Brentford is ahead 3:2. If the match eventually ends in draw, Bournemouth will go ahead.
I don't know what to predict in the match, but I think there'll be more goals in the match. This is a typical example of an English Premier league match. No dull moment at all.

The score in the first half was 1-1 and not 2-2 but that doesn't matter, because the final result Brentford managed to win at home by having better ball possession and shots on target compared to Bournemouth. Because in fact, in the second half Brentford dominated the match, so it was natural that Brentford managed to score two goals in the second half. Maybe also,  because Bournemouth scored first in the second half in the 49th minute but it didn't last long, because in the 50th and 58th minutes Brentford managed to score two goals in return which might have been spurred by being left behind. With results like this, Brentford managed to improve and maintain a good record  against Bournemouth.

Fine by Time
Haaland was able to break the deadlock on the 23rd minutes of the game with a very fast reaction after the Brighton goalkeeper, Bart Verbruggen tried preventing the ball from entering into the goal post. Haaland rush fast to the ball and played it the second time inside the back of the net before Brighton defender put his right foot to stop the ball.

Manchester city missed quite some good chance but they dominated the game away from home and they are also on the lead. Brighton couldn't create much opportunities because City defense is stronger than their attackers, but Danny Welbeck almost find the back of the net.

Brighton 0-1 M. City
Watching that goal for the second time, I observed that the gap between the two Brighton defenders and Haaland was too far and that was why Haaland had the space to shoot the ball to the goalpost. Although it wouldn't have been a goal if not for Haaland who was able to stick to the ball to the end. Luckily for him, his long leg became an advantage for him against the other defender who tried to hit the ball away. Brighton should be ready to attack immensely if not they will lose the game. Manchester City is in bad form and that should be an opportunity for the other teams to win them. By next year, most of the injured players will be back and the team will be strong again.

Liverpool and Villa game looks like it is going to be an exciting one. I know that Liverpool is leading the league right now, but Villa isn't a bad team and we are going to see things change a bit without a doubt. What we can't see right now would be just how strong Villa could be as a competition to Liverpool. I am expecting a draw here seriously, I know many think Liverpool will win, and they may still end up getting the win, but I am seriously expecting a draw from from this game.

With the way Villa has been with Unai Emery, if they can get some more money on their hands, they can actually become a team that could turn into a title contender in a few years. All they need is a bit more money, they are already in top four level right now with the way they are, and that is with so much less money than other teams, if they could get some more money then they could actually do much better and go for a title, not saying they will win, but could finish top three easily.

Liverpool heads into the match in top form, currently leading the Premier League and showing consistent results in the Champions League, where they’re the only team with four consecutive wins. With plenty of depth across all positions, Slot’s team has managed a busy schedule with ease, while Aston Villa has struggled. After a recent loss to Club Brugge in European competition and a series of setbacks in English tournaments, Villa appears fatigued and is experiencing a mini-crisis. I expect a Liverpool win, as they’re in great shape and full of confidence right now.
