So far, it is not completely clear why Conte is doing this - either he is tired of suffering at the club, or he knows that he will be fired at the end of the season and thus wants to at least get money for the premature termination of the contract ... but I think everything will become clear soon.
Well he have been rambling about he never dealt with the situation like Spurs in his managerial career so he has been very unhappy recently. Not sure what's going on behind the scenes but it's not looking good. Earlier it seemed like he would be till the end of the season but how things are going on it will be soon if board finds it going beyond a point and becomes unbearable to them. I think he also wants to get away as soon as possible so better to part ways if both the board and the manager are having the same feeling.
Hehe, I turned out to be right and Conte's maneuver worked - now he has received compensation (17 million, I think) and time to choose a new job. By the way, it's funny, but in the history of Tottenham, he is practically the top in terms of statistics:
1. Mauricio Pochettino (1.89 points per match);
2. Antonio Conte (1.88);
3. André Villas-Boas (1.83);
4. Harry Redknapp (1.74);
5. Jose Mourinho (1.64).
I will look with interest at the achievements of the new coach and will not be surprised if the club worsens its performance.
