Tottenham 2 - 1 City

It seems to be the first defeat for City this season. But judging by Pep's satisfied face, he is completely satisfied to miss unimportant games here and concentrate on other tournaments. City were eliminated very early last year too.
By the way, despite the modest score, it was not a tough equal fight, Tottenham should have scored at least one more goal, while City did not have any more chances.

It was obvious that Pep guardiola didn't want to concentrate on the carabao cup as there are bigger fish to catch and that's were Pep Guardiola attention is at. When we see Manchester city playing in the champions league and the premier league, there's a difference compared to when they play in smaller tournaments as the carabao cup. Manchester city has won this trophy many times and Pep Guardiola too has won the trophy therefore he mightn't be that interested in it anymore. Bit still Tottenham played very well and they were determined to win as they know this might be one of the only opportunity for them to win a trophy this season as other tournaments is packed with better teams.

The teams' tournament considerations are understandable, for City it really is an unnecessary tournament, but still, look how in the last minutes of the game the City bench (including Haaland) laughed. Although there were seconds left before their team was eliminated. This leaves a bad impression. It is clear that the calendar is overloaded with games and in case of force majeure it is impossible to choose a window for a rescheduled game (as, for example, in the case of the Valencia - Real game), but still it is somehow disrespectful to everyone.

Yes you are right, you should not rush to conclude about their game in this match, because this is their first match after firing Erik Ten Hag.
Am just surprised that everyone is already saying there is already improvement in Manchester United, but it’s surprising how people will conclude on a team's performance just because of a match played, and we all can see that they played against a weak club, because I will say their is an improvement in the clubs performance, then Manchester United will have to move to a better position on the table, what Manchester united should focus on is the premier league, and not carabao cup. Manchester United scoring 5 goals against Leicester City is not something special, and I don’t know why Manchester United fans are happy, their next match will be against Chelsea, at least let’s see how they are going to perform in the match.

Arsenal has not been really lucky with injuries this season, they have had key players suffer injuries and it's had its own toll on the team but their performance hasn't been too bad just yet, they have been trying to still make up for the spaces by the injured players such that it doesn't feel too pronounced that some key players are absent but then Arteta shouldn't be blamed at any point for any thing because he's doing just well and with time they may have this as one of their best attempts at he league title if they eventually don't get it.
Yes but they are still doing well in the season. They have not fall their fans hands. And there was no injury in the team players they would flying in the season with no loses and probably no scores against them. As it is too the fans of Arsenal are still happy with their performance. Arsenal will still go a long way in the season. They have only record few loses and more wins. Football is a game of skills and strong legs. And most of the Arsenal skillful and strong leg players have injury. But I still believe them.

Arsenal will keep trying, but I don't think they'll win the Premier League this season because I believe Manchester City or Liverpool will win again, and I'd rather Liverpool win the title because Guadiola has won it back to back and is still trying to do so this season. Arteta was not fortunate in his time at the club because he consistently struggled to win the league competition but was never successful. And I believe he can win this time, but he has definitely started losing points in the league. They should have won their match against Liverpool, but they drew it, giving Liverpool greater ability to win the league, because Manchester City is just topping the league with just one point, and they have tough matches to play and they have not face Liverpool yet.

The competition cannot be predicted because they have many games to play, and Chelsea may even top the league because they are trying. If Manchester or Liverpool perform poorly, Chelsea will have the opportunity to top the league, and I believe Chelsea will finish this season in the top four and qualify for the Champions League the following season.

There is only one point separating Manchester City and Liverpool, Manchester City got to the top after Liverpool's draw against Arsenal, and it is quite beneficial to Manchester City to be back at the top, it will give them confidence that they are still a strong candidate to win the league this season. The Premier League challenges will be more difficult than the previous season, Liverpool shows up to be greater than the previous season, and they are expected to win the title for Arne Slot on his debut, whereas Arsenal does not want to repeat what they did the previous two seasons, when the title fell out of their hand at the end of the season.

However, Guardiola started Foden as a striker and kept Haaland out of the game, which he failed to use all of his best players against Tottenham in the EFL Cup, Man City had three shots on goal, while Tottenham had seven, two of them were converted into goals. Since Manchester City isn't a bad team, Tottenham Spurs used their best players during the game. They won with the two goals scored in the first half, and Manchester City was eliminated from the tournament.
I don't think Manchester City's one-point lead over Liverpool is particularly advantageous given that City has a tougher set of Premier League fixtures coming up and are currently missing two of their key players. This title race  is mainly between Manchester City and Liverpool. Although Arsenal was expected to be a title contender, I don't believe they have what it takes to compete with Liverpool and Manchester City this season.

We all know Pep Guardiola likes to take risks and frequently rotates his squad, especially in cup games. His decision to play Foden as a striker and rest Haaland against Tottenham didn’t surprise me, he probably has his sights set on becoming the first manager in England to win four consecutive Premier League titles.

Last season we only saw Arsenal as a challenger to Manchester City in winning the league until end season, even last season big teams such as Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool had to fall because of their inconsistent performance, but this season it looks we will can see more competitive competition in the Premier League when several big teams start to rise, three teams are competing and currently in the top position of course they have shown consistency and also performance which is quite good so far, but I think the competition will not only happen from Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, but we can't deny that team teams like Aston Villa, Chelsea, Brighton and even Nottingham Forrest we can't underestimate because their current performance, the league is just running at the beginning of the season and it is still difficult for us to predict which team will be able to win the championship later, But to be honest, at this time I hope there will be another team that can break Manchester City dominance this season after they won consecutive championships for 4 seasons.

The gap from first to fifth place at least does not have a very obvious gap, there is still a chance to narrow it especially if City slips in some of its matches. However, it seems quite difficult to break City's dominance before its rival teams are able to overthrow it in the next meeting. For me, it is not yet clear which team will be dominant in the top four with a narrow points difference. The reason is, there are still many matches that must be played by these teams. In the next few matches or so, I am quite sure that several teams below the top four will slip one by one. In other words, their performance has the potential to go up and down so that they will overtake each other. Aston Villa may not even be able to finish in the top four until the end of this competition, especially with Nottingham Forest and Brighton. I don't mean to underestimate them, but the Premier League competition is indeed quite tight in its competition. As for Chelsea, their performance in this competition is starting to develop, but this team cannot be said to be ready and consistent. Even so, at least the Premier League is still exciting and we can see that the competition is still tight. at its peak, in the middle of the season there will be one team after another that starts to become inconsistent. let's just wait and enjoy each match, whether there is a team that is able to break Manchester City's dominance.

Aston Villa lost to Crystal Palace 1-2

This was really unexpected result. Aston Villa was going up against a team that was literally struggling to stay out of the relegation zone. And Aston Villa is literally in the top four positions right now even though it has not been long since the season has started. And somehow they have ended up losing against Crystal Palace. I understand that this one was not an English Premier League match. A match of the EFL Cup round 16. But still, there was no justification for losing against Crystal Palace.

On the other hand, they should give Crystal Palace a lot of confidence. I hope they will be able to improve their performance and get further away from the relegation zone.
A team like Aston Villa with lack of much depth in term of strength of their reserve players wouldn't risk many of their team players against Crystal Palace in EFL championship,  Unai Emery side are very much in UCL as well as the premier league thus playing academy players against a Crystal Palace that only play the league is a welcome development, I think losing against Crystal Palace in yesterday EPL match isn't an issue based on the fact that first team players are guided against sustaining injury and resting them for next weekend match to prevent fatigue and tiredness.

It is too early to measure the strength of Ruud van Nistelrooy and also Ruud van Nistelrooy does not have much experience so it is natural that Manchester United does not yet believe in showing Ruud van Nistelrooy as their permanent coach.
I do not think too much of Man United's victory over a team that is not on par with them and indeed the Man United team is a top Premier League team that they should be able to compete in the title race.
And the dismissal of Ten Hag is a step from management to advance or make changes in the Man United team, I welcome this step and hopefully Man United can rise.

Ruud van Nistelrooy also does not want to be a permanent coach and he said that he came to Man United with only one goal, which is to become an assistant. The point is not whether Nistelrooy is capable or not of becoming a Man United coach, but it was a valuable victory that Man United got because it is something they rarely get this season and it can be an encouragement so that they have hope again to rise from their slump.
Still in the end Ruben Amorin will manage all the tactics of Manchester United and indeed Van Nistelrooy is only an assistant official no more than that, with a 5-2 victory at least there is great motivation for the players.

I don't know if Amorin will be coaching this week and how the terms of his signing have been finalized?
Because this time Manchester United will play Chelsea this is a tough team because Chelsea is now more advanced than Manchester United.

You say EFL is not the main goal for the big team but Chelsea is not a big team anymore to focus on the Premier League.

Anyone interested in football can probably guess that Chelsea aren't going to win the Premier League this season, but that doesn’t mean they won’t stay focused on the league. If you asked Chelsea fans to choose between an EFL Cup title and finishing in the top four, they’d all go for a top-four finish because that is the only way to secure a Champions League spot is by succeeding in the Premier League.

I don't know, is it just because you see the gestures or smiles that occur in Manchester City players even though they lost against Tottenham in the EFL Cup, so you conclude that these big teams do not have a target to get the EFL Cup trophy? I personally am not so sure whether they do have other targets or not, but the point is whatever target they have, playing well is something they must have in every match.

Maybe, it is natural when Manchester City does not have ambitions in the EFL Cup, because Manchester City clearly has a bigger target about defending the trophy title in the Premier League, and also good results for them in the Champions League. So, Manchester City's elimination in the EFL Cup,  then it might make Manchester City have a better focus in the Premier League and also in the Champions League.

There are United faithfuls who still believe Erik ten Hag is a good coach, and that the rumors of him having internal issues with his players were fabricated by the English media. Even though Ten Hag’s tenure as Manchester United's head coach is now over, I am puzzled by how many United fans think that Ten Hag did not receive the recognition he deserved, according to them Ten Hag was one of the club’s most successful managers in the post-Ferguson era.
You try to satisfy human beings and make them happy at all time, you end up doing so at your own peril and possibly bring doom on yourself.
I won't be surprised to see the same set of people who shouted and called for his sack to right now begin to show sympathy and empathy for or to the man after he's been sacked.

For me though, it doesn't matter whether Erik was or had internal issues with his players or not (which I don't believe there way any of such issues anyway), the fact we all can see was that Manchester united wasn't showing or making use of their full potentials under Erik's watch, the team has continued to deteriorate season after season, and I think Erik being given a chance to get some rest was long overdue before now.

I find it hard to believe that there are still people who believe Erik ten Hag is very good at Man United. Maybe if we talk about Erik Ten Hag's first season at Man Utd then I would agree. Because at that time Erik ten Hag succeeded in bringing Man United to a 3rd place finish. And that was an extraordinary thing at that time. But in the following season we know that Man United experienced bad results not only in the Premier League but also in the UCL. And yes, that is enough to show Erik Ten Hag's incompatibility there. so I'm confused about what people think who still see Erik ten Hag as a good coach for Man United. But I won't deny that Erik ten Hag is a good coach in general. But not for big clubs. He may only be suitable for a club that does not have many stars in the coaching squad. As some people here have said. Who also said the same thing as me. That Erik ten hag just doesn't know how to handle star players. In my opinion he likened his way of coaching to the way of training ordinary players who have not yet developed which makes the star players uncomfortable.

Manchester United's first game with Van Nistelrooy was a testament that the former manager of the team was not really capable of handling such elite and dynamic team like the Man U. He has issues with his emotional quotient and he does not really have that stamina to control his players and at the same time boost their morale to make goals for the club. I've said it earlier that the problem of Manchester United doesn't only lies in the hands of the players but the manager. If Ten Hag was able to control that aspect of him, he would have seriously impacted on the club positively through his experience as a manager.

Through the club's official announcement, you may be able to understand that Ruud van Nistelrooy is only a temporary coach for Manchester United until they find a new coach. This is probably the opposite of what I just read, meaning the club wants another coach instead of Ruud van Nistelrooy. Manchester United's victory over Leicester was clearly very special for him, it was a valuable victory for an interim coach.

The next match will obviously be very difficult for Manchester United, of course Chelsea is not a weak opponent this season. Chelsea have improved since Enzo Maresca took over as coach. Chelsea is now ranked 5th or 1 point below Arsenal and Aston Villa. So this home match will be the toughest test for Ruud van Nistelrooy, but he has hopes of securing victory as the players are able to do their best.

I'm starting to be amazed now by Man United's game which is really quite surprising. Because their goal productivity can really be seen again in today's match which is taking place in the Carabao Cup against Leicester City. The current score is 5-2 and could increase. Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro even scored 2 goals each in this match.

Van Nistelrooy seems to know better how to use the Man United squad to make it better than Ten Hag. I think the Man United squad will get great appreciation for this match. And because this is Man United's first match without Ten Hag, this will be a little more painful for Ten Hag.

This game will make it obvious that Manchester United can do more better without Erick Ten Hag. Just take a look this is their first game after he left but they are scoring 5-2 in the game. No one will be expecting that to come, almost all of use had to start to lose hope on Manchester United, but just take at their new self. I pray they will do more better and play a very good performance with their new coach. We have more to expect from Manchester United. All poor performance has come to an end, everyone should wait and see how the narrative of their performance will change entirely.
Well, I also hope they can rise and become a strong Man United like in their glory days. And actually, with the squad that Man United has, this team should be able to get even better. Because Man United is actually filled with players who have quite high quality. This team just has to have the right coach who can make the most of all these strengths. So far as interim coach we can see that Van Nistelrooy can be expected to bring about these positive changes. And it's quite unfortunate because he is only a temporary coach. And I hope that whatever coach Man United will bring in will be able to bring Man United to its maximum strength.

The result may have been unexpected but looking at the performance of Aston Villa in the match dominated the game in possession and created more scoring opportunities than Palace but couldn't convert their chances to score goals but Palace took the lead with the little changes they had and they were able to secure victory in the game which no one saw coming because of their poor form.

From the performance of Aston Villa you could see that the team is playing like a team that has been affected by fatigue, they are playing well in the domestic league and they are also playing well in the champions league but playing in the cup seems stressful to them that could be the reason they decided not to take the match seriously because of it's in the Premier League there's no way Palace would defeat Aston Villa.

Pep views EFL as an unimportant competition. So, he was not disappointed by his team's loss. He should be carefully managing his club because he has only 13 players fit at this moment. It's impossible to force them to play fully in all competitions, and i consider they're losing for the best. My first time seeing Pep happier losing a game in the final minutes.

The injured players of City could even form a starting lineup, which is showing they are in the crisis.

We will have a good match in the next few days, Manchester United vs Chelsea!

Manchester United successfully beat Leicester City in their latest match, Chelsea is strong enough in this season. The match will held in Old Trafford, but Manchester United lost too many players.

What do you guys think? personally I still view Chelsea is stronger due to their consistency.

If you saw what happened yesterday you won't be writing Manchester United off completely. Even when Manchester United are in them worst form you'll see them revamped and rejuvenated against clubs like Arsenal Chelsea and Liverpool.

If I should give my prediction,  it will be for Manchester United to win that game or draw. They can not lose to Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Come back to this post ams it'll be yet again another game they'll lose away from home. I love that double man midfield Ruud utilized yesterday honestly.

Maybe some people are right about Manchester United players they wanted to get rid of their coach Ten Hag because just after he left the team we saw an amazing performance from Manchester United in the first half and they scored four goals in the first half which is a great achievement for them.
Winning the game against Leicester City with a 5-2 was amazing for them because Ruud van Nistelrooy was coaching Manchester United in this match and maybe if they get a better coach they can even have a better performance and get better results than this when they start working with Amorim.

I don't think Ten Hag's absence has anything to do with Manchester United's strong performance against Leicester City. However, I believe that the players did it on purpose to get Ten Hag sacked from the team; they appear to have gotten sick of him as a manager because Ten Hag didn't get close with every Manchester United player. To be honest, look at their performance against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup yesterday, since they brought Casemiro into the club, he has not scored an amazing goal, until yesterday, when Ten Hags was not in charge, and he scored two goals. Bruno and Casemiro have not scored a goal since the start of the season, many of us believe that Casemiro has finished and that he should be sold to Saudi clubs.

Despite the fact that it is too early to conclude that Manchester United has returned to winning ways; I was happy with their victory over Leicester City and the energy with which the players demonstrated that they are Manchester United. As a Manchester United fan, I can obviously claim that we are not afraid of playing against Chelsea this weekend; in fact, I believe they will be scared to play against us after we defeated Leicester City 5-2. Grin
I agree with you that the last few matches the players have purposely tried to play as bad as possible so that Ten Hag would finally get sacked, but it hasn't happened and even Bruno Fernandes no longer knows how many times he needs to get red carded and suspended for Manchester to lose and Ten Hag to get sacked.

In general, Manchester in recent years after the sacking of the coach usually go victories, so it was after the sacking of Moyes, Mourinho, Sulsher and apparently Manchester should just sack coaches more often and better before the most important games with City or Arsenal).

There are some things that are known in football but are not said much. One of these things is that players do not perform to their full potential when they work with a manager they do not want. This is the case in many parts of the world and when players are not in harmony with their manager, things do not go well. In some cases, they do not play good football until the manager is dismissed from the team. I think this is exactly what happened at Manchester United.

After the manager left, the players started to play better. It has only been one match but we will see this in the following matches. My guess is this because the players at Manchester United are very good individually but they were not playing well as a team but now the situation will change.
This scenario could have actually happened there all this time. Although I find that a little hard to believe. It's just that remembering how Ten Hag's coaching sometimes always has some problems with several players, this can indeed lead to the scenario mentioned. But let's hope that's not what happens. Because if that's what happens then it will really happen again if the new coach who is brought in turns out to have the same attitude as Ten Hag.  Grin

But the fact that the players' performance has improved so drastically does make a little sense. But it could also just be coincidence and luck. But if the results of the next match show that the Man United players are still playing well, like in the match against Leicester, then it could be that this scenario has actually been happening all along. But I hope that the increase in performance that occurs is not because of that. I prefer and hope that the current improvements are the result of better strategies and instructions from the current coach.
