They are hesitant to bring in a clinical striker andd that is the major reason why they are still not at City’s level yet. I don’t even know why Arteta doesn’t want sign a top striker and wants to keep using Havertz.

They lost because of the same reasons, they are just protecting themselves against fatigue of playing too many matches, though they lost this game, but sometimes it mostly works for them in keeping the team fresh from fatigue, so in essence of what am trying to say is that due to the fact that they don't rate this carabao cup that much, and they can't say that they are not playing it, they try to use it as an opportunity to rest most of their key players and keeping them fresh for a more important game.

I read his interview after the Spurs's game and he claims that this is the first time in his career that he has 13 healthy players available. Looks like the injury crisis is quite bad for City. On the other hand Arsenal and Liverpool also have some troubles with injury, although you could argue most of their key players are healthy for now. But who knows, City always perform well in the second half of the season so this time is crucial for Liverpool and Arsenal to gain as many points as possible to make sure they have a chance to win the league.

I think this is quite common tbh. A new coach, new energy, etc. The problem is whether they can sustain that for long or not. At the end of the day, a new coach will come and the players must be prepared for that.
