Nobody expected Manchester United to even go on a draw with Liverpool because everyone supported Liverpool to win, but until when we all see the first goal of the game was from Manchester United. Although the game today was an unexpectedly amazing game, and a lot of people are proud of Manchester United seeing their performance today, which I know Liverpool will start thinking about putting more effort into their performance not to let themselves go on a draw or even lose the game again because they want to achieve the title of this season at a very high cost, so they will not like to lose that opportunity against less performance.
In fact, you are wrong because you have missed so many of the posts above. If you read carefully from one post to another, you will probably find that some Manchester United fans expect their favorite team to win or at least draw. Of course, many people didn't think that this draw could be achieved by Manchester United when Liverpool was in their best form, but not everyone thought so because some others also believed in a draw.
Averages are backing Liverpool to win, but not everyone. I'm sure some Manchester United fans want their team to win over Liverpool, others to draw, while only a minority are doubtful about the final result. I also doubted that result from the start, but seeing their performance in the first half I was sure there would be something different about the result.
I think we had so many people with expectations, even though they're not 100% certain. In football, we most times judge or predict a game based on previous performance, but sometimes, some fans would want to have too many expectations ( in the sense that they hope for the result to go their way), even though the stats doesn't agree to that.
I actually supported Liverpool to win the game, not because they must win the game, but because they've given me a reason to believe that they could win the game, which was from previous performance and H2H. If United had a better wins this season, I would have supported them in that way as well.
But just like you've said, I think united's performance in the first half wasn't that bad. I literally thought they will be defending all day, but to my greatest surprise, they tried some attack, but Hojlund was just too shitty today. United wing backs were just too awesome. After United scored that first goal, I expected Liverpool to react, which they did, and even went ahead to give a lead. At the end of the day, United just had to share all points.
I will admit this. I think it's a shame that I looked down of this united side, though it's not my fault anyway, because I only judge base on records and stats. With this draw, I think they've shown that they can be a threat to big teams that are in contention for the title.
