Haha, so there are still people who compare the new season to the preseason games? Wake up, guys. The Chelsea team is much better than Arsenal and Tottenham. They competed for the league title last season until January, when they lost steam due to COVID19, and they finished the campaign as semifinalists in the Champions League and winners of two domestic cups runner-up medal. Chelsea is a force to be reckoned with; they want the league this season.

I agree with your opinion about Chelsea. They are one of the most serious contenders of the Premier League title at the moment. It wouldn't be the right thing to overlook them this season. I can still say that they need some transfers now on one hand. For example their biggest need is a striker now as Lukaku is no more here and Werner might also leave the team soon. If they somehow find the right striker for themselves then they would really compete harder to achieve the title.
Chelsea already bought sterling for that but sterling's performance was not so impressive. Another solution is actually needed here. I meant i kinda feel that if any players that already bought by chelsea are not so good now. The defensive players will be hijacked by another club. This is also making another problem to come for chelsea. The team has not yet gotten the right defensive player from the transfer season. The more players are going out from the club but no replacement.
The day of chelsea become even harder.
Chelsea will most likely continue to issue players before the summer transfer window closes, and apart from players who have entered the transfer market and left there are five players who are looking to leave Chelsea this summer.
Cesar Azpilicueta reportedly wants to return to Spain Barcelona.
Marcos Alonso wants to join Barcelona.
Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic have also decided to leave Chelsea.
they are good players at Chelsea, and Chelsea need to have new players who are able to restore their glory because if you look at other clubs have changes and also significant preparations for next season.

I think they know they are not a contender this season. They may aim at top four which is still very hard to finish for Chelsea.
Don't be quick to write the blues off, the team has always been one with a fighting spirit. ....snip
Yes, maybe this season has been one of the toughest seasons for Chelsea regarding the players in the squad. Moreover, some of Chelsea's target players could not be obtained. However, Chelsea is a big club, the transfer window is still running, and there is still a chance to get other reliable players. They are also negotiating some players who are capable enough to fill and strengthen the squad. So, even though it's not easy, I still believe that Chelsea can still be strong in the future. Maybe there will be a great surprise in the near future?
Chelsea has signed enough for the season they have all it takes to contend for the title. I think what Tuchel needs at the moment is to sit down and draft a working formation that suits his current squad. you don't use an old vessel for a new wine it might likely burst. Tuchel has to try series of line ups before he will know which would be his preferred starting ix

My most concern now is if Chelsea will not slide into the relegation zone in the seasons ahead, because with the current happening around the club it looks like no significant attempts were made to revive the club and the club's performance in the last season was nothing to write home about. I don't understand what is happening with the club because not much has been heard from Chelsea in the current transfer market, other clubs are already signing big players and the premier league is about to start.

I think they know they are not a contender this season. They may aim at top four which is still very hard to finish for Chelsea. This season Manchester City is better, Arsenal is better, Liverpool is again a contender, there is also Tottenham and Manchester United so Chelsea may not see top places. They may save some money and be prepared for next season for the championship. It's impossible for them to win anything this year.

Yes, the competition in the English league competition from year to year is always increasing. Almost all teams did some player reshuffle. But in the English league it is very difficult to determine which club will be the best. If you look at the activities of the transfer market and the results of the pre-season, it is certain that Manchester City will be victorious again this season. Then from a top club, Chelsea has very little activity, so it can be predicted that Chelsea will have a little difficulty getting on the championship path.

At least during the pre-season friendly matches they looked kinda bad tbh. They didn't look like a team in itself and just individual players trying to put in a shift. Watch them against Arsenal and they were completely outclassed by Arsenal's play. They need better team cohesion and team play, which is the managers job to sort out. Yes, they do lack the quality up front as I don't think Tuchel rates Werner highly as their main man up front. Chelsea really needs to get busy in the transfer market. All their transfer prospects seem to be joining other clubs from the looks of it. With Prem starting in a week's time. They should seal the deal for a quality striker soon. So that he's up and running in a few weeks.

At this point, I will rule Chelsea out as title contenders but I'd be happy if proven wrong. In the end, cant take pre season games too seriously but it does have an impact on team moral etc.

I can't argue about them not being pretenders, but nevertheless - there are at least two of the biggest rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City, who will definitely be competing for first place again next season. I for one don't see Chelsea in that competition, they're a bit out of step with those teams. But they will be fighting for the top four one hundred per cent

Chelsea currently seems to be still trying to find defenders and have not thought about buying new players again and if they need a new striker then it will make chelsea waste a very large amount of money, this is a PR for chelsea which they choose to consider with the parties management and as much as possible to find both positions from defender to defense and striker to attack.

Don't be quick to write the blues off, the team has always been one with a fighting spirit. They had a fairly good team with quality last season, they just needed some more inclusions and options here and there. Raheem Sterling from Manchester City has joined them, he should at least count for something and Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli. I still expect Chelsea to get another big experienced player soon though before the transfer window closes. Also, i think tuchel has had more time with the team and it is going to have a visible effect on the quality of play and their delivery of tactics and strategy from the players in the team.

I have had this fear that Pep will bench Haaland and keep using his midfielders to do the striking role as usual. But on a second thought, Haaland is a class and the eyes of the world are on him, if he eventually starts benching Haaland, he would fall under serious criticism even by the media.
But from City friendly with Bayern, I could see that Haaland can easily integrate in the city team because he has great position and I am very sure he has alot of goals to score. His major challenge would be injuries.

Haaland is now in a tougher competition than at his previous club. Keeping fit is something that must be done. this will help him not to spend too much time recovering from an injury.
But seeing Haaland's game quickly get support from his team, I don't think it's difficult for him to score a lot of goals this season. there is no reason for Pep to put him on the bench. Haaland will be the new star of the EPL.
If he can play possession football and still have eye for pass he won't get a problem in playing under pep Guadiola, but the competition will be hard on him here in the premier League, because he will face tougher opponent and players, at England the defenders can stand physicality and speed, players like Virgil Dijk, Ruben Diaz, Christian Romero, zouma, alot of defender's that can stand his type of player will be waiting to relish the pleasure of challenging one of the best at the premiership.

When Man City faced Bayern in a friendly, Haaland proved his quality by scoring one goal and making Man City win the match. But maybe Haaland
will struggle a bit when playing in the Premier League, because as you said, there are so many defenders of very good quality who can stop Haaland
from scoring goals. Because the Premier League is more competitive than the Bundesliga, most Premier League clubs have good financial strength,
so it's not surprising that so many very good quality players are in the Premier League. Even so I believe Guardiola will be able to maximize Haaland's
form, so it's possible that Haaland could quickly adapt to the Premier League and become the Premier League's top goalscorer. We will see Haaland's
form tomorrow as Man City will face Liverpool in the Community Shield.

I do agree that it is going to be a bit of a tough situation. But at the end of the day, it is Haaland we are talking about and we all know that he does what he does because he can do that. We shouldn't be shocked to see him scoring 20+ goals a season for many seasons in a row. Certainly maybe he wouldn't be scoring 40 goals a year in a single season (in the league) but it would be possible to reach 20+ goals a year every year for nearly a decade, it looks like a potentially possible thing.

We have to wait and see, maybe he will finish the year with 20 goals total instead of just league, or even not that, or maybe he will finish the season with 50 goals total, who knows?

Yes, the problems that befell Chelsea last season did affect the team, so their performance decreased slightly. Although many say "it shouldn't lower their performance" But we don't know for sure what happened to the team as a whole. Because what we know is what appears on the outside. It's very difficult for Chelsea to stay optimal in these circumstances.
What is certain is that Chelsea will continue to try to improve their performance at the beginning of next season even though what appears from the outside is a decline in performance because it is triggered by problems that existed last season. But overall Chelsea are still trying to make his team's performance improve next season.
All clubs certainly want to improve their performance every season, when the transfer market opens, clubs are competing to bring in new players for the same purpose. The spotlight is on Chelsea because of their failure to get the player they were looking for in the transfer market this season, Chelsea have been trying to get some top players, but the player they are after has chosen to join another club. As a big team, Chelsea is considered a failure in the transfer market, because other big teams in the Premier League have managed to strengthen their squad with several new players. It will be difficult for Chelsea to stay in the top four if they do not immediately strengthen their performance because next season the Premier League competition will be even tighter.

Ronaldo seems even okay for being released on free now. This is really insane to me because there is no meaning in just waiting for him. It is obvious that he won't be able to find any team that are going to compete in the Champions League. The Atletico Madrid rumour also seems like just a lie. He shouldn't leave Manchester United in this case as it would be a big disrespect to his team also. The fans want to see him here and Ronaldo should think about his memories in this team also.

I would like to see how Arsenal and Tottenham move for the upcoming season because if you look at it from a reshuffle point of view, it looks like they really intend to have a good season.
This is the ideal time for Tottenham and Arsenal to take over to replace Chelsea. At least make some further improvements, whatever is happening at the moment at Chelsea is still ongoing and quite prolonged. For a club like Tottenham themselves, they feel benefited because from the transfer market to the pre-season that Chelsea went through, it would be difficult for them to show their best performance.
Arsenal and Tottenham will perform excellently well in the coming season, they will give those top teams a run of their money, it's not going to be easy win as usual over those two clubs, considering the quality signings made by those club especially Arsenal who had beef up and strengthen their squad in all area and departments likewise Tottenham are now stronger honestly they will improve their performance, I believe top 4 spot will become more competitive now after Arsenal narrowly missed the spot to Tottenham last season they will try and clinch it this upcoming season.
Chelsea have lose key players and will still lose Alonso and azpilicueta, yea they got koulibaily and Raheem Sterling in but I don't think they will be stronger this season, arsenal did well last season and with there good work on transfer they will do more better this season,if it wasn't for Newcastle, arsenal would have been in the champions League not Tottenham Hotspur, spurs will do well also in my honest opinion I think they will challenge Manchester city and Liverpool for the premier League title.

Haaland effect, I suppose?
With Haaland arriving at the club, I don't think he is the kind of player Pep is going to bench for some midfielder like he used to do to Jesus. Without major injuries across the season. Haaland is the kind of striker that can guarantee City at least 20 goals.

It would be a big loss if the performance was good and the purchase price + salary was not small just for display on the bench.
But, even so, this will still be a risky thing, especially if you look at the condition of Haaland's body this season while at Dortmund, it is clear that this is still very risky considering his legs are really vulnerable this season.
