[...] For players like Saka who technically are your best players, what you get is a competent backup who will be ready to fill in if the inevitable happens.
You don’t get the same quality because it’s not in the market and if you had to, you’d be paying over €100m and then you bench €100m player because your best player will still play either way.

What they need to be clamoring for is someone who is one or two steps above the current option which is Reiss Nelson. That automatically raises their level.

Not to be asking for someone on Saka’s level.

Agree, Reiss Nelson is the best option at the moment, after all it would be too hasty to look for other players in the last week before the transfer window closes. I also agree that Arsenal need to add depth to the squad in the crucial position of Saka, but this is not the right time, maybe they can do it in the next transfer window. Previously we heard a lot of rumors for this position, but nothing has realized until now.

United vs Brighton will be a great game, United is doing alright and they built a squad that is definitely entertaining to watch, they have good like 20 or so players and that depth will help them all season long. Brighton however started the season unexpectedly well and looking like they are actually very well, it is a great deal and we could see them do greatly this season, much better than expected.

So, this game while being in the early weeks is a great deal, it will show the future of both teams, you may think it is a joke but I honestly think that both these teams have the possibility to finish very close to each other at the end of the season. I will bet on United to win too, but I am not really comfortable and could see a draw between these two teams. However, I do believe that both teams will score, it looks like they have what it takes on offense, and defense is not there yet and I think both teams to score will be the key thing this game.

After Jurgen Klopp announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of last season, the club had to go in search of a new manager before they finally settled for Arne Slot as his replacement. Many of us doubted if the Dutch manager will be tactically strong enough to continue from where Jurgen Klopp left the club but from all indications, it seems that the new Liverpool manager have already settled in quickly and have also established a working style of football at the club. Is it too early to conclude that he'll make a good coach or not?

isn't it too early to start giving this new coach a credit knowing he just played a single match in this season against a weaker team like Ipswich to which to won 2:0? Liverpool didn't change most of her key players apart from the coach you don't even expect them to loose their first premier league game of the season. Maybe after the Sunday September first match against Manchester United that's more like a tougher opponent then we can look at how tactical the new coach will be against such rivalry but from just a single match point of view, it's rather too early to say the least from it. Even if Liverpool ends up doing well this season to the point of carrying the league, it's never a discredit to Klopp, this current Liverpool team is the child of klopp and this nee coach will even have lesser work on his shoulder since the players are already well experienced to adapt to different partern of play from the new coach and still get good results in Thier play.

Chelsea may be the team that can surprise us the most this year. I think it's quite difficult to make predictions about them, I really can't predict where we will see them in terms of the Champions League or the League table. They have ba pretty good squad, but a good squad may not be enough to win matches. They must be more than that and be successful as a team. We'll see what they can do in the first few weeks Smiley

It is not really cool looking down at a team from the first instance or there first outing in the league. The loss may be a stepping stone to more success for them. Chelsea have a pretty good squad and that is a reason why they should not be look down on even when that’s not enough to qualify them to be league contenders or will finish in the top four of the table. The new coach has a lot to work to do because a good squad without a good coach to manage them will be worth nothing in the end and can lose everything they want to fight for for that season.

It takes at least 4-5 days of matches to see a trend, in the first few days even the last ranked teams from last year can be first: this is absolutely normal.
I always find the start of the season of the various championships exciting, it's all a buzz. Then during the year I always go to focus on what interests me.
The start of the championship is like the first lap of Formula One for me: great fun for me Cheesy

The start of every season is always full of fun and many of the matches will make you feel a particular team will do better that season or some teams will play worse for that season. That been looked into, it is very important to know that every team at the start of the season don’t always get their best self yet and may only do better or poorer than how they start depending on how they assemble and prepare their squad for the future encounters.

I love ambiguities like this. We have seen similar scenarios in many teams before. Even in the teams we call the best teams in the world, we have seen major collapses after the coach changed or a few players left the team, and the quality of the team suddenly changed. Or teams that are in a very bad situation or even have financial problems can suddenly become very good. We know the example of Xavi, who took the team from the bottom to the best. That's why Chelsea has the potential to do anything Cheesy

I like what I see from Arne Slot. The man exhibits a spark, a game vision. Pre-season was strong; first win was quite outstanding. Lets not immediately crown him the "next Klopp," though. While Klopp's shoes are large ones to occupy, he left a gifted team. That gives Slot a head start without doubt. Maintaining this momentum during difficult times is the actual test. Every manager experiences a difficult period; the way they handle it will help to distinguish the exceptional from the excellent.

Liverpool's has the ability to challenge for the championship, but its more than just winning. Its about how Slot shapes the team and adds his own mark. We will be observing just that. Let us thus savor the early achievement for now. However, its a long season, and there's a lot of football left to be played.
It is actually to early to determine, however first impression matters. Slot and his boys did give a nice play. But I would have been more bold to say this assuming they played an EPL team. Ipswich town is one of the weakest side to grace this season's EPL. So, we should be patient to see Liverpool play and EPL team and then we can judge Slot.

However, I don't expect much from Slot such as lifting the EPL title this season. But I do expect that he should be able to qualify for the top 4 and also make some waves in the Champions League.

A lot of Arsenal supporters are clamoring that the club signs a right winger to provide competition for Bukayo Saka before the end of the window.
Imo, there are players you don’t get competition for because competition for them either doesn’t exist or don’t make sense.

Throughout Manchester City’s domination what competition did they get for Kevin Debruyne. What competition did Liverpool get for Mo Salah, and what competition does Madrid have for Vini Jnr.?

For players like Saka who technically are your best players, what you get is a competent backup who will be ready to fill in if the inevitable happens.

Yes, it is too early to conclude that he will be the coach who will make Liverpool achieve success like in the Jurgen Klopp era or vice versa. Arne Slot has just played one official match with Liverpool, he needs time to develop the club to reach the level of Jurgen Klopp's coaching era. A common habit that occurs when there is a change of coach is that the club will experience an increase in performance or will even be destroyed like Manchester United when Alex Ferguson left. Now everything is still grey because the season has just started, Arne Slot will do whatever it takes to bring Liverpool back to compete in the title race, but it all depends on their performance on the field.

Yes, it is too early now to judge whether he will be a successful manager at Liverpool. We have to give him the whole of the season to completely evaluate his performance. Meanwhile, the attributes he has shown to the team are encouraging and a lot of Liverpool fans are leaving their hopes high expecting good results. Let's not forget that he was also left with some good players that Jurgen Klopp had bought back then, so even without his tactics and strategies these players are players with good experience who will play well in the field.

Currently, Liverpool has what it takes to compete for the title. From coach to players down to the available resources provided for them.
Arne Slot himself is coach who is also trusted by Jurgen Klopp to be able to replace him as Liverpool coach, he is believed to be able to bring Liverpool to better peak of success in the future.
But no one knows whether all this will really come true or not because what is clear is that for now Liverpool still has strong and tough squad, they will be able to compete well and everything will come back to how Arne Slot leads and uses game tactics that are suitable for all Liverpool players.
I think for this first season I not so sure that Arne Slot can bring Liverpool to win the title, they will only adapt and start learning to understand each other to gain strength in the future.
We see what will happen in the future, but what is clear is that being able to beat Manchester City in the fight for the title at the beginning of Arne Slot coaching which still requires lot of adaptation will be difficult to do.

Your worries when betting on Man United are quite justified because there is still not much that Man United can prove at this time and they didn't even win convincingly last week either. I hope Ten Hag will give Joshua Zirkzee some early minutes, so we can find out whether Joshua Zirkzee can score earlier or more goals and can make a meaningful contribution. In the match against Fulham, before Zirkzee entered the field. Man United wasted too many good opportunities that could have been goals.
Joshua zirkzee starting in tomorrow's game will be a welcome idea if only ten Hag will do it. We saw how much he bragged about the guy in their last game which I must say, Joshua was deserving but then, it's when a player performs for a longer time you'd be able to know how much strength he has.
Brighton are no new comers to playing against Man UTD and I'm betting my money on Coach Fabian Hurzëler bringing all his best to be able to salvage yet another three points at the Amex.

Let’s see how they are going to perform this season, at least Chelsea already has quality players and a good coach. So Let’s see how their performance is going to be, but I am not expecting Chelsea to end the season in the top 4, but I am expecting improvement in their performance. Before Enzo will be able to build a perfect squad, it’s going to take some time. There are lots of things for him to fix, which I am sure he won’t be able to do within a season, so what I expect from Chelsea management is for them to give him time. I just hope Chelsea will be able to have patience with him.
For some season now Chelsea have been having challenge with their performance which they always end the season with poor results.  This season I don't expect Chelsea to end the season in top four, what I just want from Chelsea is good transformation, atleast occupying the 5th or 6th position won't be bad if eventually Chelsea is able to achieve it because all what Chelsea have gone through I don't it will be over night for them to be among top teams in performance in this season. I feel Chelsea's coach can make good difference this season because I see him as a capable coach that will be able to revive the team this season.

There will be no good transformation to happen with Chelsea, until they can trust the process. The problem is that many things have happened with Chelsea in any season since Todd became the new owner and chairman of Chelsea. It starts with the change of coach, players, and even their tactics. It raises my doubt about their performance in the current season.

I doubt Chelsea will be able to go back into their best form like what they used to be under Abramovich. Also, expect them to finish better than last season when we made it 6th is too good to be true considering we have many changes happened this season.

i'm still fine if they can still finish at 7th - 9th, but not above 10th.

I don't think it would be wrong to say that Arne Slot is really adapting well at Liverpool. Because we can see how Arne's performance has been after coaching Liverpool, so far it can be said to be quite satisfactory. Because for example, of all the pre-season matches he played at Liverpool, the result was that Liverpool never lost and only got one draw. Then Liverpool's first match in the Premier League against Ipswich Town was successful, because Liverpool was able to win the match. So with this positive trend, I am sure Arne Slot will be an excellent successor to Klopp at Liverpool. So, if for example Arne Slot can continue to maintain Liverpool's positive trend, I'm sure Liverpool will be a candidate to win the Premier League, with a very big possibility. And for the second week, Liverpool will face Brenford. I think Liverpool will win this match very easily. Because if you look at the head to head record, Liverpool is far superior to Brentford. Because of the 5 meetings, Liverpool were able to win 4 times and only lost 1 time. Therefore, it is certain that Liverpool will definitely get 3 points easily in this second week's match.

Klopp made a great career and legacy in Liverpool but Arne Slot began his career in Liverpool good enough. It gives so much hope that he can continue success of Klopp with some early matches. But from some impressive matches to a successful season is a long journey. Some coaches were fired after early impression but later end with very poor performances. I hope that Slot will not end like this and he will have to go through this season with many high quality competitors like Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

His style is good for Liverpool but to succeed, time is necessary to wait for his performances in next several months. In Liverpool, years ago Klopp started with not too good performances so Slot need good support in early months there too.

It is too early to say whether Arne Slot is able to bring Liverpool to a higher level but there is no harm in speculating. Judging from the first appearance against Ipswich, it seems that Liverpool performed the same as when Klopp was still there. However, Ipswich is only a weak team that was promoted this season, so we cannot say that Arne Slot has made a quick change. In the next match we can see how Liverpool actual performance is when playing against an equal team when playing against Man United. But before playing against Man United, Liverpool must play against Brentford without a doubt Liverpool will still win. However, if when playing against Man United later Liverpool must lose, we can say that there is no change in Liverpool performance.

Not having patience with coaches is one of the reason why Chelsea keeps going back and forth in their performance. This season they’ll improve, hoping to continue on that trend the following season but they’ll end up sacking their coach and the new coach will have to start all over from scratch, this has affected them so much and I feel they should try and be patient with their coach at least, when he’s even able to improve the performance of the team compared to what they played in the previous season. Chelsea has a lot of work to do, I hope they end the season on an improved level this time around.

According to reports, Sterling has been stripped of his jersey and is banned from training with the first team. I am not a Chelsea fan but even I know it is utter disrespect the way Raheem Sterling is being treated at Chelsea. This is not how to treat a player you have fallen out of love with. The club should sell Sterling now before the transfer window closes instead of this humiliation.

I didn’t know there was a saga between Raheem Sterling and Chelsea’s management, this could have arise from his link to Aston Villa after the coach wanted and show interest in him. There behaviors towards him was not fair because the player hasn’t even made any statement to want to join the team. He deserves more respect than how he’s treated as a their player. Now that the coach has no interest in him, they should just let it slide and bring him back to train and play with the first team players.

It is within the rights of the manager to decide which player fits into his playing style. However what should not be condoned is the humiliation Raheem Sterling is being subjected to in the club right now. In football, there should be respect and I think the problem is beyond the point of being a good match for the new manager. I suspect the decision isn’t entirely from Enzo Maresca and may be influenced by Todd Boehly. It looks as though Chelsea are trying to force Sterling out of the club in order to cut costs. Sterling performed really well during the pre-season and there eas no complaint from the manager then. So why the sudden changed of heart?

I also have actually thought about how they treated him and why all of a sudden but I have read reports that Todd Bohely has adopted the strategy of not paying players higher wages and that’s probably why Sterling is a target at the club, he is currently sitting on a 350k wage and that might be too much for Todd and this decision definitely looks like it was his decision. The same thing is happening to Chalobah to at the club, it is ok to set out players that aren’t on your plans but stripping them of jersey numbers right before they leave is disrespect

I see Enzo at Chelsea like Kompany at Bayern Munich, their coach's performance has not been proven. Indeed, both coaches are Championship champions, but to coach a team as big as Chelsea and Bayern Munich which are known to be full of pressure, Enzo Maresca and Kompany are expected to be able to prove themselves instantly. They not only have to play well, but also have to win by dominating. So I doubt Chelsea will give Enzo much time, let alone two seasons. We know the system at Chelsea, if the performance does not improve, the coach will be fired. In fact, as you said, building a team takes a long time.

Both learned under same manager which is Pep and been the championship winners is the only thing they have currently but Kompany has actually done it in the Turkish league before the English league and he is edges Enzo I terms of top flight league experience. Also the situation at both clubs are different, Chelsea isn’t stable with the way the board are handling its affairs although Bayern Munich also has its own management problem but they seems to be more stable than the Londoners

Sure. Their many clubs are doing better than Chelsea even though the season just got started, but we have seen some clubs performing very well, which will make it difficult for Chelsea to end the season in the top 4 as you said. Furthermore, all their problems will not get fixed within a season. Their new coach needs at least 2 seasons to make things right for Chelsea if they give them enough time. Chelsea are good at changing managers after he failed to give them the result they want. Enzo is a good manager, and if they give him enough time, he will fix Chelsea problems and their performance will be good again.
Yes, that's right. This season it seems like all teams will show their best performance because many other teams have built their squads to be strong, not only Chelsea but also other big teams. So finishing the season in 4th position seems difficult, especially Enzo Maresca, because he is too early to handle a big club like Chelsea. Considering that Maresca is a coach who does not have a track record of handling top clubs that are full of pressure from various parties.

I see Enzo at Chelsea like Kompany at Bayern Munich, their coach's performance has not been proven.
