Four more games have been postponed which were decided to be played today normally. Covid-19 has started affecting the leagues very badly. And I wonder if the leagues will come to a halt some time later. Because things have started becoming really serious now. Until this big problem is solved, they might make a decision like this and the leagues would end later than it was decided.

It is unfortunate that some matches will be postponed due to Covid-19, hopefully league will not temporarily stop like the start of the pandemic, because the number of people exposed to covid is quite high per day.
So far Tottenham have been the team that has had the most matches postponed this is not too good for them because when things get back to normal they will have a busy schedule because of the few postponed matches.
Yes, that's right, even though every EPL match has become one of the most sought after entertainment after the pandemic. The organizers' (FA) swift move to postpone a number of matches was appropriate enough to prevent the spread from getting more passive. In the future, maybe matches without spectators will be an option so that there will be no further delays in EPL matches

In today's matches I do not expect any surprises and I bet on the victories of the hosts. I believe that both Liverpool and Chelsea will clearly beat their rivals, so in both games I bet on wins with a handicap (-1.5).

Well Chelsea might struggle a little with Everton, they arent a bad team only cannot win many games in row.So it might be problem if Chelsea dosent score early.Newcastle will probobly defend hard against Liverpool and try and attack from counter-attack.
The problem is that currently Chelsea are faced with a storm of player injuries that make Tuchel have to think seriously here.
although this is now gradually passing because some players have started to return to training but it is not certain whether they will play in this match or not.
Kante is now fit and can be on the bench but it must be monitored because he is one of the most important assets for Chelsea.
It's barely 30 minutes left to the the start of Chelsea vs Everton match. And 1 hour to Liverpool vs Newcastle both both Chelsea and Liverpool should be adding to their tally tonight not even their injured players should stand as excuse because this should be a free goal for both team as the maintain their place in the premier league table
a match that didn't live up to my expectations.
I expected something more that chelsea should be able to achieve, but the reality is different.
but indeed this cannot be separated from their players who are not in good condition due to the injury storm that Chelsea is currently facing. and actually this result is quite good for the players who are actually a layer of the main players

All of this games can be played behind closed doors rather than the putting the premier league to a stop.
Although the Covid cases are just too much, are there not enough safety meàsure ?
Weekends will remain nothing but boring if the premier league comes to agreement to pause for a while.

This week so far only 5 games will be played but at least we have three strong teams playing like Liverpool,Manchester City and Arsenal.Hopefully these games will be beautiful and with lots of goals in order to make it up for the other 5 missing games due to Covid 19.I agree with match postponement because this way they are conserving the other players from being infected with Covid 19,it is a messy situation but hopefully it will pass soon.

The problem is when these postponed games will be played because we have tight schedules right now,so most probably these will be played during March/April.

Waiting for the virus to pass seems pointless, I support managers that want the league to continue inside close doors and a controlled environment, it is better they try to finish off the season rather than wait for the virus that is mutating into new variants. I know it's dangerous, but i think to avoid jam packed schedule of matches to play by clubs and worst case stopping the season, it is best to try finish off quickly.
I wanted to again check EPL match fixture today because it has been long that I checked it, I  saw that most of today's matches have been postponed. Even aside Covid 19, there are other good reasons matches can be postponed, I see this as a good reason if it is because of Covid 19, rescheduling it will be better. I do not support the manager that want the matches to continue without postponing it, not that it won't be played but just this time is not the right time due to good reasons.

some of the managers wants the continuation of the league amidst the escalating cases of the virus, probably playing matches in empty stadium while some managers wants postponement of all matches so as to bridge the gap and play some the reschedule matches.

The problem is not only the potential for the spread of Covid but the condition of the player that does not allow to play. Even though the number of supporters is limited, or the match is held without fans, but according to the Premier League rules where the match can be run if both teams have 14 players available including the goalkeeper. Meanwhile, many EPL players and their staff are currently infected with Covid and must undergo isolation.

I feel this is a difficult question for all, because if you continue the games and player’s get covid then they’ll cry we don’t have any first team player’s and we want postponed games too then it won’t be possible. Furthermore on the other hand if you postpone the games then the question is how to finish the league in time or postpone it and cause further strain to player’s, so in all it’s a nightmare situation which I hope is resolved soon.

This week there are five Premier League matches that will be postponed due to the soaring number of COVID-19 cases and many players, staff and coaches who have tested positive for COVID-19. Apart from the Manchester United vs Brighton Albion match which had to be postponed, there were remaining matches that experienced the same thing and had to be postponed. including Southampton vs Brentford, Watford vs Crystal Palace, West Ham United vs Norwich City and Everton v Leicester City. Of course the weekend is not good, especially for fans who want to watch their favorite club on the weekend.

The impact of these postponed fixture would really be fatal for big teams that are likely to still be playing in four or three different competitions, the schedule is already so tight enough, and having to reschedule multiple matches to fit in would be really demanding of the clubs.
According to some reports premier league clubs will meet on Monday to take a decisive action and discuss issues bordering the impact of the increasing covid-19 cases and how is affecting matches would be discussed, some of the managers wants the continuation of the league amidst the escalating cases of the virus, probably playing matches in empty stadium while some managers wants postponement of all matches so as to bridge the gap and play some the reschedule matches.

Manchester City under Guardiola's coaching is fantastic in terms of scoring goals. During the period of Guardiola being their coach, it has been 500 goals. This is a positive result for Guardiola, and City deserves to keep for more season. Guardiola very amazing to made his team so productive to score in every matches.

Guardiola is a great coach. He wanted to form a stable team. And he got it. Manchester City are a stable enough team. All the players on the team can perform tremendously in their place. Guardiola has an extraordinary squad, as well as his match strategy is too much good. Manchester City can perform well against a strong team due to good match strategy.
Yes we admit that guardiola so far have had good performances in manchester city, but I don't think it's entirely from guardiola greatness so far, we know that manchester city is a rich team and it's easy for them to sign any player that Guardiola likes, according to To me, it is actually the power of Manchester City money that is able to make Guardiola successful in forming a good team, if Guardianola is still coaching Barcelona who is currently experiencing financial problems, I think of course Guardiola will not be able to revive Barcelona.

I do not agree with you. Manchester City. Definitely a rich club. But spending money alone does not make you strong. Examples include PSG and Manchester United. PSG have spent a lot of money to build the team, but despite having a lot of star players in the team, their performance is not as good as expected. Manchester United's performance in the Premier League is very poor. So I think Guardiola's contribution is a lot behind Manchester City's good performance.
I agree with you @kro55. In a football team, one thing is having star players, another important thing is having a good Coach. PSG, have strong players, but their performance are not that stable. Also, Manchester United had talented players, but I think you can remember when they were finding it difficult to win their matches. Guardiola have been an amazing Coach in Manchester City, and I think he will spend more time in the club.

Tottenham Hotspur get bigger impact because until so far they only play 14 game except all team have played more than 17 match, Burnley become second team playing less than 15 match right now and make table fixture not completed and have the same match for all team. The FA need to make new schedule but depend how team condition because covid 19 impact need more than two week for club and player take recovery, still not any new schedule when all postponed match begin and I think need one months later to make primer league standing position have the same match game for all team.

I also would not deny Guardiola's coaching talent and his opinion to build a team, but still the finances of the Arab sheikhs thanks to which this happens is a decisive factor. Also, I would not compare the costs at Manchester United and Manchester City, yet the costs at City are clearly higher.
Unlike Manchester united, Manchester didn't just get the players alone but, they also got the coach that could manage them and gave him full control of his team, whom and not yo future on a match and even got to decide players to buy I  the transfer window. Of course the money played a key role but, only with a coach that knows how to coordinate it all to happen.

Mean while, the postponed games has been a bit more frequent, which is no one's fault but then, the Covid-19 is causing a lot of havoc right now. It really need ssome looking into before it comes to a point where we've got pause the game like during the first wave of the pandemic.

If we talk about Paris Saint-Germain, the club has consistently, with rare exceptions, won the championship in recent years and recently played in the Champions League final in 2020, so Manchester City and PSG are quite comparable about this. Also, do not forget that this season the club has been replenished with a player like Messi, which has caused some problems in the team structures in order to effectively fit such a strong player into the game.

Still .. on top of that, money is changing the whole game.

i mean , the game of transfering players ... the value get increased insane out of the market and many clubs cant afford reached the price , only those oil money can do.
Manchester city has invested through crazy transfer since 2008 and yeah it took a couple years to achieve something.

If I have not misunderstood four games of the next day of the Premier League have been canceled and meetings are in progress to evaluate whether to postpone the round completely and not just this round.

Covid cases have increased a lot and we are around 80,000 cases per day.

80,000 is quite a big number to ignore and with increasing numbers of cases around the sport the inevitable is coming! The sport will either be played behind clossed doors without the fans or if this is not a supported solution we might not watch any of these games for a longtime to come.
Am just puzzzled here, are vaccinations not effective as advertised??

There is a total of 9 games? and of course everything is possible... Nothing reassuring so far and the current situation isn't good at all with this new variant popping up Undecided
Meanwhile it could be an opportunity for few teams to take a breath and stop wasting points. Chelsea for example has dropped quite badly in the last rounds and a draw against Everton in Stamford Bridge might kill their dream.

Let's not forget the fact that Man City's success started when the new rich owner took over. They already achieved a lot during Mancini's tenure so it's enough to say that the team was already quite stable before Pep came in. All he had to do was make improvements using the huge budget alloted in bringing new players.
