We've just been commended by Manchester United for playing a pretty good game, moments after Ronaldo was put in the box Manchester United had to pay for it. Seeing the substitution of Sanco by Ronaldo did not actually change the flow of the game.

It's interesting how the two came close to equalizing the attack, even though at some points Manchester United didn't really step up attack and were blocked by the defence.

^ Are you watching the game? Manchester United isn’t playing better. They’re parking the bus and was gifted a goal. Aka they got lucky. Playing like this week in week out wouldn’t be ideal.

Man Utd have taken the lead with what happened to be their first shot on goal all match long, It's been a complete one-sided game with Chelsea dictating all aspects of the match so far, I think Chelsea would still find a way into the game.

Wow! Can't believe Chelsea is loosing!! It's indeed shocking how they get to play so well against other EPL teams but when it comes to Manchester United, they get to make little blunders that could be quite costly. You can imagine what Jorginho did in the time that it mattered not and just like that, its Jordan Sancho on the score sheet, putting the Chelsea team on pressure as, they can't afford to loose this one and equate points with Manchester City. It could mean there one time ticket from being top of the league.

I very much doubt Chelsea won't equalise real soon but, I hope the game doesn't end in a draw too.

I can't watch Chelsea v Manchester United. I have to say that I was very surprised when I looked at the statistics. Manchester United took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Jadon Sancho. Chelsea had taken 11 shots up until this minute of the game. Manchester United took only 2 shots and scored. Chelsea also have the upper hand in ball-handling statistics. That's part of the strategy from Carrick, put Ronaldo on the bench and have more players in the midfielder.
It is an indication that Carrick knows who is his opponent and how is his own squad's condition.
As tyz said previously, Ronaldo is a type of striker who wont be able to work to defense too much, most of the time he will stay in front.
It is clear that Carrick chose super defensive strategy against Chelsea, and I guess Ronaldo will play in the 2nd half to replace Rashford as I do not think Carrick will play 2 strikers against Chelsea.

First I was astonished by the formation presented by Carrick but I was happy that he has the confidence to make some changes in formation.
Manchester United has not improved yet but we are no longer where we used to be. By now under Ole, two goals should be against us.

I want to query the Fred option in the team, he could not build up any game. I think Matic would have been better than Fred ahead because of control.
I really need to see Ronaldo in and Bruno fall back to build the game up from midfield.

All Man Utd players collectively played defensively, they are able to choke up pressure mounted by Chelsea, I can now see why Carrick benched Ronaldo, meanwhile Fred, matic and Mctominay holding the midfield tight atleast the match worked according to man Utd game plan and kudos to Degea for making some crucial saves that kept the visitors clean sheet, I hope Man Utd to up their game in the second half and play more attacking football maybe they might get a scoring chance if Ronaldo islater introduce in the match.

It seemed that what the coach had planned for Ronaldo in the second half gave the attack an added boost. By not playing in Ronaldo first half, of course in the first half it was worrying at least Manchester United had to survive without Ronaldo for a while. It turns out that so far, they can survive without Ronaldo enough to withstand Chelsea's attacks.

I think it's all Carricks idea as, CR7 has been stressed lately, from there last game in the EPL with Watford that ended in a disaster over the last weekend and there won UCL game against the Spanish side Villarreal for which, Ronaldo became there saving grace. It's not very surprising to find him on the bench in such an important game. Its a bug decision from the management indeed but, is it really for the best on the part of the team? The first half is gone already and is a Chelsea dominance as expected and should they want a chance at this game, they've got to let CR7 loose now else, there is a little he could do once the goals starts coming from Chelsea's end.

Carrick tried to take this decision how to play without Ronaldo in big games and trust Rashford and Sancho more but I think Carrick will definitely play Ronaldo's role in the second half to start the attack with the goals he wants but at the moment Man United are still holding out despite dominating the same Chelsea.
But for me Carrick is still confident enough for his team to defend even though the attacking pressure is still being carried out by Chelsea, this will take advantage of opportunities and gaps to become goals when Man United attacks.

Manchester United still struggled to create chances in the first half against Chelsea, playing without Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench it was very clear a forward line without creativity and minimal chances, not even a shot on goal in 45 minutes of the first half, maybe Ronaldo should be included at the start second half to be able to provide options on the front lines.
