West Ham-Arsenal game on this weekend will be a very tough game and it is one of the missing games of both teams. West Ham are maintaining the 5th place despite losing to Manchester Utd away in their last game. They got 2 losses in their last 3 games but both of them were against the Manchester clubs.  Grin  Arsenal got a really valuable win against Tottenham the last which should give them a big confidence. Arsenal beat West Ham 2-1 this season but this time I expect them to have a very hard time against West Ham. I even think that West Ham could take revenge on that game and beat Arsenal in this.

I don't think injuries affect Liverpool's championship chances even slightly. If all players were healthy and get no card ban Liverpool couldn't win the league.
Many players injured must influence big for the chance to win the title. Especially, if the injured players are the key players of the club. If all players of Liverpool are healthy, I am pretty sure that Liverpool must be in the top 3 standings right now. If you are a real football lover, you should know it well. You need to remember what Liverpool could achieve in the previous season once their players are healthy and in their top performance.

Yeah I agree with you, some of the Liverpool core players who suffered injuries greatly affected the team's performance and the results made them really have to fight, it's sad if compare the current results with previous season, I'm not saying that they should be able to be champions, but at least they must be better rated than now.
Even if we do not talk about anything else, Virgil van Dijk missing the season played a huge role, that guy is one of the best defenders in the whole world and not having anything like that would be horrible for any team that has a great defender like him. This is why we can't say that Liverpool wasn't affected by the injuries, they also had players missing along the season as well that went and came back, small injuries or even Salah with coronavirus as far as I remember that was the only one but could be more that I forgot.

Basically we are talking about some momentum lost during these periods as well. However we can't put it all on injuries as well, we are talking about Liverpool leading the league for weeks and then suddenly they started to lose a lot and back to back, 4-5 games lost in a row is not something Liverpool should do even with that many injuries.

Firmino and Henderson ( the worse midfielder) were around during the doom days yet they couldn't do anything to stop Liverpool downfall what made you feel they would do anything now?

I don't know why I'm even replying to this. Henderson is really important for us, both tactically and mentally. He doesn't have to do bicycle dribbles in order to be a quality player.

But ok, let's try to explain. We're playing with Nat Phillips in defence currently. Getting Henderson back means that either him or Fabinho can replace Phillips without us losing shape and stability in the middle of the pitch.

Of course injuries have an important role on the performance of a team. But for weeks, there has been no injury preventing them from scoring more goals than the conceded amount and winning their matches. I understand that their defense is weaker in the absence of especially Virgil van Dijk. But they don't have any excuse for the attacking side. Players like Salah, Mane and Jota (He has been playing for a few weeks though) all have been playing for a long time. But they still are having big problems on getting a comfortable win or even getting a win. I hope the win vs Wolves has boosted their morale and we can see them playing better in the next matches ahead of them.

I agree that injuries will hinder the performance of the team, but as a professional team they should have good mitigation what if key players get injured?  the strategy should be prepared in a variety of team conditions.  Plans A, b, and c should be prepared.  Now the Reds are in 6th place which means the Reds may also have to get ready to say goodbye to the Champions League. Klopp is so emotional about everything.  Their hopes of winning the title remain in the Champions League, having been knocked out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, and hopes of defending the league title have vanished.

The most important thing is Patricio seems to have escaped serious injury. You can read here that the injury is not as bad as first feared.

Read this good news, and Wolves desperately need Patrico in all of their remaining EPL matches to improve their rankings.

While all of Liverpool's players are healthy, I don't see any chance of Liverpool making it into the top three this season. Liverpool is 10 points behind third-placed Leicester United. And Liverpool is 25 points behind Manchester City. I think Liverpool could end the season as the fifth team in the table.

^^ Patricio collision was a horrible one. That was just rumours flying around that he had a fracture or something and there are always people around spreading something like that just watching the collision. Now that's the second Wolves player sidelined due to wierd collision. First was Jimenez who had returned to training but is not fit yet to return back. Wolves also already had signed Willian Jose to cover up for the forward position. Hope Patricio recovers and gets back soon at pitch. He is really a great goalkeeper.

Well, we grinded that one yesterday. Last few minutes were nervewracking to watch, defending in the last moments looks so different with Van Dijk in the team. We were all over the place but luckily Wolves weren't concentrated enough when needed.

~snip~
Someone watched as Coady hit Patricio. Patricio tries to save the ball from Salah but unfortunately he collides with Coady's knee. He collapsed immediately, this is terrible. But I heard that he had a brain failure. But today it seems the news is not true. He had come to his senses and remembered what happened.

As for the result, congrats to Liverpool you are lucky I think it will be a draw,  wolves play well they are just unlucky.

Liverpool managed to defeat Wolves in a very tough match 1-0 away and it should absolutely increase their confidence for the next matches. They won't be able to end the league at a very good position or as champions but they can at least try their best to finish at a better position to be able to qualify for a tournament. When it comes to the CL, it is really their main goal right now and I've no doubt that they will play their best game. But it is really hard for them to win the CL as there are many tough and in-form opponents ahead of them.
That's the problem they are facing right now champions league is 5 points ahead with Chelsea, if can cover that difference it would be great for them, they need at least champions league level, but it is not going to be easy, Chelsea is playing not so awesome recently neither, only 2 wins in the last 5 weeks but Liverpool could recover and win all their left games and could actually go over them, if Liverpool plays well I am sure that chelsea will lose some points fr sure.

This is going to be tough to watch for Liverpool fans, every single game will be a very difficult game, it is not going to be easy to see Liverpool missing champions league or maybe even europa league if they continue like this. That is why I think it is quite important that they win or their fans will want someone responsible for this, they will want to hear who is the reason for missing all of european competitions.

The break is coming, we have almost 20 days to prepare and get some people back into the team (Henderson and Firmino primarily). This was a really important win.

It's probably different this time around. Players coming back after a long lay off have a different mindset. They usually have that hunger to play on the big stage again and prove themselves. All they needed to do is overcome that "rust" and have confidence in their fitness.

It's true that Liverpool's only hope right now is a Champions League trophy, so I'm sure they will fight to win every game in the Champions League,
even though the mission is tough, considering that there are still several other strong teams that still survive in the Champions League.

What is left for Liverpool now is focus on UCL now maybe or if possible win to so as to stand a chance of qualifying for next season UCL as for the league their chances of making top 4 is gone for good because none the team of above them is ready to pave way for Liverpool comeback, the likes of Chelsea, Leciester City, Man Utd and West Ham will consolidate their positions in the league by not dropping any points in the remaining 9 matches.

Looks like Patricio will be ok so I'm using this opportunity to thank him for the points. His positioning for the Jota goal was abysmal Grin

It is true that Liverpool has to fight for the CL trophy otherwise for the next season they have to really fight to be able to compete in CL, seeing the current standings it looks like Liverpool is having a hard time getting into the Champions League zone for next seasons.
Hopefully, the win over Wolves will be a sign of an improvement in their performance

I think the win of yesterday night is a good indicator that Liverpool needs to do the same in the remaining games of the Premier League in order to secure a spot for next season in the Champions League. This surely looks difficult looking at the standings however it is still very much possible.

I agree with you...manchester citè is great this year and i believe even if liverpool or united didnt wast many points citè was to be the champion with no doubt...liverpool still have a chanse to get the champoins league trophy and save the season but i think its a very hard mission

There are still 9 games left for Manchester United to play, and I firmly believe Manchester United will not be able to win all the remaining games.
So it is very unlikely that Manchester United will pursue the points that Manchester City have. In other words, it is almost certain that Manchester City
will win the Premier League trophy this season.
