UEFA football tonght! Come on Chelsea!

Here is the up to date table and latest player ratings for the Prem,

Gosh, I'm quite surprised at all those draws last week. Hardly anyone won a match, in particular, no one from the top 6. Aston Villa, Wolves, United and City the only clubs winning matches last week, are we in for another table reshuffle?

No domestic league title since 2014/15.

No CL since 2010.

Same ol’ Mourinho Wink

Lol so true ... Cheesy Cheesy . Yeah bit of a duck in title field but I think him as an entertainment character. Makes the PL complete doesn't it. Glad that after United sacked him Spurs decided to get him back in PL last season.

~if Man City will be able come back they might end the league in top 4 that is a key to sign a contract with Messi.
Yes. It may be a good reason for Messi to sign a contract in Man. City if they can finish at 4th position. It means Man. City can play in the Champions League in the next season. While if City cannot finish in the big four, Messi probably considers canceling the plan as he won't play at the highest level of football competition anymore.

I believe Man City top priority now is to reach top 4 in EPL this season this is the only option if they really needed to sign Messi although they might not in-form now, but they shouldn't be written off,  the league title is still far with just 9 matches played out of 38 EPL they are placed 13th on the table with 12 point while having an outstanding match the league leader Tottenham have 20 pts, EPL is becoming unpredictable now unlike before when few team always dominate and vie for the trophy.

The survey in this thread showed that almost 1/3 think City will win the title. And now that they haven't had the best start you start to think that they should already be glad if they reach the top 4? Don't write them off yet. We are not nearly half-way through the season and a lot of things can happen. The current situation just shows that the teams are much closer together, neither Liverpool nor Man City are able to dominate the whole league as they used to do in the previous season.

Wolves played a good match against Southampton! My forecast did not work, but I thought they could win... Wasted here many said that Southampton could easily win the Wolves...
By the way Crystal Palace also surprised, losing to outsiders! And along with them lost my bet, too....
Talking about last season, Wolves had a better performance than Wolves, but this season looks very different, especially since Soton is able to sit in 5th place in the Premier League standings. This was proven when Southampton were able to hold to a draw at Wolves which is actually a good team that can win easily, but the quality of Southampton's game this season is very different from last season where they were almost at the bottom of the standings, but this season's good performances have been able to boost achievement. Southampton to 5th place in the standings.

For me, i think there is no reason to be disappointed with Leicester; they were just simply not good enough on any level versus Liverpool. and believe me this is testament to the great and wonderful works that Klopp has done with the Liverpool squad. They are so confident and unbeatable irrespective of the crisis or troubles. Liverpool have the hallmarks of champions.
Even the Leicester team are disappointed with their own performance against this Liverpool side who had a lot of injuries.
I hope you're not a Leicester fan. They'll be disappointed since you sounded like a defeatist.

This pretty much sums up his brand of football doesn't it? Hehe
We all like to see attacking style but there is also beauty in defensive and efficient football.

.....
Lol, Mou is really desperate to win a major title again, cause he knows he can't afford to get sacked another time; well I hope he doesn't win the EPL this season Wink
Every manager is desperate and it doesn't matter if they've won one before.
He can get axed and would still be fine. There are plenty of top teams who would still want him. It could be EPL or in other leagues.

Still not available for Messi sign contract with Manchester City although city become the most favorite club to get Messi in the next window transfer, just what happen with Manchester City if not qualify if they can't finish at 4th position will make Messi not interested to play with Man City because can playing on champion league, but the season still long time and have many match for playing and waiting if Man City could be on the first or third position will make Messi want sign contract with city and make reunion with Pep Guardiola, by the way does effective when Messi have pass thirty five years old playing for Man City?

A part from City and maybe PSG I doubt Messi could find a club right now able to spend too much to attract him. EPL is waaay better than the one team french league unless he enjoyed beating weaker teams most of the time Roll Eyes, but Mbappe to Real Madrid and Messi to PSG seems possible.
Back to City, I agree that Messi will most likely sign anything with them being +5 in the table... Their situation seems desperate and I almost losing hope to see them as n1 in the league... Liverpool is much better.

One truth about this season is, the league title remains open to everyone. We witnessed a lot of team team seat on the table and are been pushed off by other in the likes of, Everton, Liverpool, Southampton, Tottenham and so, it won't be long before the citizens come along, lol... I'm joking but yeah, they've still got there shot and can still surprise everyone. Though I strongly believe, this season the league title is going to be between Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea.
Liverpool and chelsea have better chances to be nominated for finals when i don't think Tottenham can reach first places. Means it's not really opened for everyone as the giants are still there and other teams still have to build a long career to compete with the leaders .

These teams have had there ups and downs moments and have managed to be fairly stable at this time, showing some level of consistency and a nice game play too. I won't be surprised should one of them win the league.

agree that these three will play the role in title chase, probably Tottenham and Liverpool more than Chelsea, but up to this point, all three are playing good football, and it should be expected to stay that way until the end, which could not be said for Southampton or Leicester, for example
I am a fan of Everton, so hope that they can stay within top 4 at the end of the season, but that seems to be unreachable from this point, and Villa is also above their realistic play at the moment

Wolves and Southampton are playing goalless tonight, but no matter how that finish Southampton does not have a team to stay within top 6
I agree with your statement about Southampton but right now they are leading by 0 - 1 after 65 minutes and standing on 3rd spot in EPL with very good form just 1 draw in last 5 matches and they can stay on this spot for some more time as they are going to play next match at home against struggling Manchester United.

This meme really on point about Mourinho, he would even give Manchester City 98% ball possession just to win the game with one goal  Tongue
Against Guardiola, this tactic works very well. When Mourinho was coach of Real Madrid, he played that way against Guardiola. And quite successfully. For tactics Mourinho needs to be fully understood and supported by the players. In this case, he succeeds.

Leicester is not really a team that fights for a title every single season, the fact that they are usually at top 10 every single year since their championship shows how great they are. They finished 12th the year after they became champions and everyone said their championship was a fluke (rightfully so when you look at that season) but after that finished 9th twice in a row and 5th after that and this year they look like they might actually fight for champions league as well.

Normally when a surprise and shocking team becomes champions, they get destroyed by teams offering insane amount of money for their players, both for transfer fee and for salary and that team becomes so bad there have been ones that relegated in few years, whereas Leicester is trying to hold it together, they are not after becoming champions again (at least not more than any other team) they are just trying to stay good.

We'll see how far that pattern can take him and if Spurs can push for the title with it, personally I didn't think Spurs were that excellent against City, yes they carried out what Mou instructed them to do to perfection, but I think it was more of city being lazy and not having any real attacking drive going forward, well you can say it was down to the 'bus' spurs packed in front of their goal; I know soon the mind games will start, and Mou is good at it, but it's still very early in the league and City could still bounce right back in it.

This year we are going to have some good fight for title even for me Liverpool is again hot favorite but in current shape Tottenham and Leciester both are doing very extra ordinary job.
