I must confess I do not understand the protests. Glazers have been there for how long - 15 years? What are the fans complaining about now? The Superleague idea?

United has finally stabilized a bit results-wise, they secured CL for next year and are basically in the EL final. If they wanted Glazers out, they should have started the protests a long time ago.

I am not a United fan but I have followed some of the news since those times American owners took over. Some of the main reasons:
1. Glazers took over and borrowed money using the club as collateral -- put them in big debt almost $1B.
2. Profits made from seasons go into paying interest, not reinvestment.

And the protests DID start a long time ago, do you remember even a section of fans broke away and formed FC United of Manchester? Nickname the Red Rebels. As icopress mentioned in his link.

Protests were worse before, police had to escort Glazer:)

Four games left. Things are still not looking good for Liverpool at all. I mean there is a serious serious possibility that they will not be going to europe this year. I get that City could have been champions while Liverpool becoming second again, that would have made sense, if something marvelous happened and they were third that would have been decent as well, but 7th? Really? Now they are 7th and if they win that extra game they will be 6th at best and that’s it, and that extra game is against United so there is a big chance they could lose that game as well.

I don't know what is wrong with them but I don't know what happens in a season where they pay so much money, not earn too much money and not even be in any european league at all, that sounds like maybe it is time for them to dissolve and sell their players because they may not be able to afford to go on.

Let's move on from that incident at Manchester.

It's nice to look back at the poll as the season winds down. LFC is on top while Man City is a close second. It's clear who is going to be crowned but how did your team do? My pick was way off and they're competing for the CL qualifying spot hehe.

That means only an individual with a high networth will be able to buy it from the Glazers if only they decided to sell it. I think this protest was orchestrated on this specific days for several reasons. The main reason probably would be like because this is a big match between Manchester United and Liverpool and alot of media will be covering this so this protest will get a huge coverage as well
Until this moment, I did not go into the details of these events, but I read the interview of one of the fans and this is what I learned ... (although it is rather odd that one of the fans gave an interview to the press given that football fans dislike journalists as much as the police).

[1] The event was carefully planned as, in addition to the action at the stadium, the fans tried to detain Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer so that the game would definitely not take place.

[2] The protest would hardly have taken place if Manchester United were in dire need of glasses, and given that M'City is leading by a wide margin, the penalty in the form of deducting points will have absolutely no effect on the outcome of the season.

[3] Most likely, the Glazers are ready to sell the club for 4 billion, but one thing is clear: they are not ready for a partial sale, given the debts.

[4] Fun Fact: Fans who didn't want to put up with the fact that Malcolm Glazer bought their favorite club in 2005 founded FC United of Manchester.

Chelsea are really close to Leicester now. They are only two points behind Leicester.  But Chelsea's next game is going to be against Manchester City away. And it means that their job is really hard. Meanwhile, Leicester is going to play a home game against Newcastle. So, it looks like the gap will be bigger again.
Chelsea defeated Manchester city in the FA cup semifinals although it will be as a broken record to say the FA cup is different from the league games, although I think Manchester city would only play for glory or for some records other than that, Chelsea has more reason to win the match than Manchester city.

Also to Leicester city playing Newcastle who can be venomous on their good day, Leicester city has their hands filled, but I think they can win Newcastle, and also Chelsea may just defeat Manchester city.

I do not know about you guys but I personally think this was something good. It started out as a peaceful protest but of course a few people there started to become violent. That was wrong and the media is wrong to highlight that fact.

But the point here is being missed. The protest was organized,,, some hooligans chose to make it their scene after drinking.

This is not about owners not spending money, it was owners taking money out of the club for personal gain. Clubs that have over 100 years history in communities.

I am not condoning the violence but you all have to see past this. This was a statement to remind the owners that the fans still have a say in club matters.

they have been protesting for a long time. I remember still in Ferguson's time, they protested (backing to green-yellow colours, which were their original colours)but not radically like now.
now it’s a little different because they don’t have good enough results (no trophies) so they have no justification for tolerance. a small part of fansthe largest fan-owned football club in the United Kingdom by number of members even separated and made another club, which will be only for football, FC United of Manchester https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F.C._United_of_Manchester
if a bad period happened to them long enough (as Arsenal or Liverpool before Klopp) they would certainly be even more aggressive.
Boris Johnson even highlighted a demonstration by fans of the Manchester United football club at Old Trafford Stadium.  He was disappointed that the demonstration ended in chaos so that a police officer was injured.  Whatever the reasons behind this demonstration are so inappropriate that there are victims of violence.  Very uneducated at all this behavior that hurts other people.  If it was for that super league reason, not even everyone in England supported it happening and that would be enough demonstrations like this.  And just as we know that demonstrations like this have happened several times not only MU fans, there are many other clubs whose fans are angry too.

Plus it's not whether they can keep Bale, but whether he wants to stay or not:)

I believe that Bale will want to stay or better said if Zidane remains at Real Madrid I really doubt that Gareth will want to return...
Now in which team will see him next season, it's a good riddle.

It's SO hard to tell with guys like Bale. Not a big fan of him, especially since he moved to Spain, not so much that he doesn't speak Spanish or anything to do with his golfing etc. but even as a sportsperson I always felt he doesn't give it 100% you don't get the feeling of determination from him. And if his decision is only because of the manager, then he shouldn't stay at Spurs either cause who knows who their new manager will be?

Anyone of you who hopes that the final of the English team will happen in the Champions League this season?
No, I didn't expect it to be real. Real Madrid vs Manchester City is the ideal final in the Champions League.
In my opinion, the match between MU vs Liverpool is quite an interesting match because currently Liverpool really need a victory to secure their position in the standings and if you look at the current standings, of course this match will be a decisive match for Manchester City to seal the title if MU can beat Liverpool.
Manchester City just need 1 more win and maybe the match vs Chelsea will decide their title this season. 4 match remaining, if 1 win and 3 more lose have also guaranteed them championships as Manchester United will no longer be able to catch up.
English clubs prove that the Premier League is the dominant force in European football Wink I also do not like the idea of a purely English final in the Champions League, although of course Chelsea and especially Manchester City made comfortable results in the first matches and if this happens, I will take it calmly. However, Real Madrid and PSG also retain their chances of reaching the final, for Real Madrid it is enough to score one goal, and PSG will have a harder time and need two goals scored. Chelsea are fighting for the top four in the league, so it is not a fact that City will be able to claim the title in this match.
They are not the dominant force in Europe. Only a few time they make it to final and win. In the last 10 years, they only won the title for 2 times while La Liga dominate the league.

Even MC won the first leg, I still doubt that they will easily win the second leg

The protest was ridiculous.  A couple of police officers injured, some people vandalizing stuff and just doing plain ol’ hooliganism.  And for what?  Cos the club owners won’t spend money on players to win cups?  Lol.  Ridiculous.

Yeah nice to see Bale start and give that kind of performace.
Its not just about hooliganism. During these COVID times..it could be a super spreader event for Corona to be spread again across the country. I barely saw anyone wearing a mask. I can understand the fans frustration but its not like changing the management now with 5 games remaining will change the outcome for the last few games. There is the whole off season for them to display their disappointment and time to work towards a better future for Man United.

Chelsea must have full concentration for this week, they must win versus Madrid in the champion league and should preserve the 4th position in the premier league. Versus manchester city, on Etihad stadium, it will be hard to get a winner at least draw either. the city must win on the home cause all fans have to wait to get a party. At this moment, Chelsea still has a chance if they going bad in the premier league if they get a trophy champion league of course.

Its pretty iconic huh that this will be the match decider for Manchester City to win the Premier League because both Manchester City and Chelsea will be playing on Champions League as well before this match. Its going to be tough for Chelsea because it was a draw in the first leg so they would need to play harder on the 2nd leg so probably they are going to sacrifice this match against City

City on the other hand had it on a little easier though because they are pretty much guaranteed to win the Premier League even if they had to play extra hard for the Champions League as well

Anyone of you who hopes that the final of the English team will happen in the Champions League this season?
I think it's still possible for Chelsea to qualify for tomorrow's final if they are fast enough to score from the first half or go goalless until the end. But I don't think tomorrow's game will end in a draw, Chelsea will win at home and qualify for the final under Tuchel this season. Madrid will find it difficult to win at Chelsea.
Chelsea stands a better chance at winning the semi final tie though. Anyone who watched the first leg would know that Chelsea was the better team in that match. Nothing was working for Zidane's men. Madrid's midfield was completely outplayed by Kante, Jorginho and Mount by a great extent. Even Madrid's defense was caught with their pants down on multiple occasions. If timo werner had scored most of those chances, it would have been a different case altogether in the second leg.

By the way, City is playing tomorrow against PSG while that Chelsea vs Madrid game is scheduled to hold on Wednesday.

Hopefully Chelsea can play like in the first leg, because in the first leg I agree Chelsea has more control over the midfield. But unfortunately Werner
as usual always throws away opportunities, I hope that in the second leg Werner should be replaced by Giroud. And Hakim Ziyech was able to play
from the start of the match, because with Ziyech's presence, Chelsea's attacks were usually much more varied. My prediction Chelsea can beat
Real Madrid in the second leg, but Real Madrid also still has a chance, so Chelsea do have to play carefully. Do not let Benzema be given
an open space, because as we all know Benzema has a very good finishing.

I genuinely believe that's what will happen in the finals. Even though Real Madrid possess the quality to score at Stamford Bridge but it would definitely be hard for them to not concede a goal while doing the same.

Man City will win the title pretty much whatever happens. Its just about how many points can they make and win the title as it would be significant for their legacy.  The race for the 4th spot is heating up and is sort of up for grabs. It still amazes me how well West Ham have done under David Moyes. European cup spot almost in the bag.

West Ham literally needs to win against Burnley to push up the points gap with Chelsea. West Ham has been in the 5th position for so long and it seem Chelsea is not ready to lose their position to them.
If they lose against Burnley tonight, they might also lose their position. While Burnley is close to the relegation zone, winning today's match will do them more good. But i don't think they can easily beat West Ham.
West Ham won and they are on the track to claim or at least make a threat for the 4th CL spot from Chelsea Wink
EL spot is hot also few rounds from the end while relegation battle seems to calm down.

-snip-
Everything is possible but Real Madrid will not give the ticket to the final easily without a fight.
