I don't think the coach of the Reds Arne Slot would be pleased with the kind of performance they had against Arsenal, if he is ok with everything in that game then Liverpool are going to find it hard to get the team play as a unit and get better results when it comes to the big 6 teams in the EPL and the clubs in the champions league. To me I don't see anything special about the Liverpool side, let's forget the fact that Arteta and his boys was joking about the game, Liverpool need to identify their problem before it becomes too late for the team and they haven't gotten any player in this transfer window, seems they don't feel like adding any new player to the squad but someone might leave Liverpool soon.
From the looks of things, he seemed pleased by their performance and was also heard commending them on their efforts. If you look at things, they are the only club that hasn't made any signings and that should tell you a lot. Liverpool will either be better than when Klopp left them or they will be a shadow of themselves, all depending on how Arne Slot handles the team and we'd see when the season starts if Liverpool will remain the threat they were last season and if Anfield will be a dreaded ground for teams or not.
He should be proud of his team because he got the best result in that game but he shouldn't be too comfortable about his squad because the heat hasn't started yet, EPL and champions league games and the domestic league games too are to be worried about, we know they haven't gotten anything in the market which we also know that they need the team to be more than he is seeing it as "ok to go".
No matter how this manager Arne Slot wants to handle the Liverpool team I still don't see them becoming as tough as they were when Klopp was in charge, they need to bring in some new faces to make the team look more mobile. To me I think smaller clubs will make a mess out of Liverpool more than they can imagine especially their long time rivals Everton. Come to think of it Ipswich has been busy doing stuff in the market and you feel Liverpool can survive the heat against such a busy team? I haven't mentioned some of the teams who finished the top 4, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Man City and the others are going to get the best of Liverpool, so all I'm saying is, the Reds will find it hard to play as strong as they did last season.
Although Liverpool finished in a good position last season, I'm talking about finishing in one of the top 4 positions, Liverpool performed very well in some games, so it wasn't a perfect season for Liverpool. The season before last season Liverpool had another disastrous performance, but from what I could see in that game against Arsenal, despite it being a friendly game, Liverpool performed very well in terms of performance. You see, Arsenal was playing with its best players.
Even so, Liverpool won. Liverpool scored 2 goals first, then conceded 1 goal. But looking at Liverpool's performance in this game, in my opinion they are doing very well. I see some people saying that the new coach should sign players, but how will he sign players when he hasn't even coached the team in many games to know what difficulties the team has? It doesn't make sense for him to sign any players now. He needs to see how the team will behave in the Premier League games to know which sectors the team has problems in, whether the attack or midfield or defense has any problems and then he will research which players he could sign to solve the problem in that sector.
Man City 4 - 2 ChelseaEven though it was a friendly match, this is a result that made me laugh. Manchester City has not been good in these friendlies, they have conceded many goals and suffered many defeats.
Manchester City 3 - 4 CelticManchester City 2 - 3 MilanBarcelona 2 - 2 Manchester CityYou see, in all these 3 friendlies, Manchester City failed to score 4 goals and failed to win. But it's funny that they managed to score 4 goals and won the match against Chelsea. It seems like a sign for the next matches they play against Chelsea. In that match, Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick
