I am not saying they will not miss anything, obviously they are going to miss a good player so they will get a bit worse, but let's not act like they are going to be mid table team because of one player neither.

You're so on point. Of course, VVD has been real solid for us at the back but he isn't all our team has to offer defensively. He'll be duly missed at our defensive line but we'll have to rely on Gomez for now. Also Fabinho has shown this season that he can step into the CB position and still do well. I think that's the route Klopp would take - pairing Gomez and Fabinho at the heart of Liverpool's defense. My only problem with this setup is that Adrian would feature at the sticks for Liverpool and as we all know, he isn't reliable. Let's see how the next couple of games would go. Liverpool is also considering getting another CB when the January transfer window opens.

Liverpool is not a team that is consisting of just superstar players bringing them the good work, it is a team oriented team and they will still manage to be a great team, probably even win the league without VVD, obviously he is a big big part of that team play but as long as not that many people gets injured all at the same time, they will be doing fairly well with just one missing player. Also they do have decent defensive bench as well so they are going to pack the court with them and try to find the one that has the best chemistry and understands the tactic as well.

I am not saying they will not miss anything, obviously they are going to miss a good player so they will get a bit worse, but let's not act like they are going to be mid table team because of one player neither.

Lampard already have a chance last season, if he failed again, so maybe we can say good bye for him,
I don't need to think what team you support but I'm sure your manager did not perform magic in his first 1-2 years just because he was backed during the transfer window.

There's no pressure on lampard his only objective this season is to finish the season-high and get his team to challenge for the title next season, so if you have another expectation then I'm sorry

Imagine Southampton coming back to draw Chelsea in a game that they've got 2 goals head start already.
I don't really know whether this is the new system Chelsea had applied now is to draw a game, Chelsea had never in a game trying to have a winning point without waiting conceding goals first, that's that bad of them, literally, if sevilla score first, Chelsea would have come back to equalize with them, this pattern of play isn't a way forward one definitely.
Give Lampard A Break
Give Lampard a break? For how long, I think it wouldn't have took him so long to take Chelsea to a greater height because he played at Old Trafford, so keeping waiting and giving him a break won't change anything, however, it would only work by changing style of play. That's all.
It's quite unfortunate that everyone wants to see Lampard perform magic just because he spent 200million pounds on players, people don't care about nature and adaptation of the incoming players and to the new weather.

Manchester United manager spent the same amount last season and finished the season 3rd the same point tie with Lampard who finished 4th with transfer ban.

We know how Roman Abramovic work, "he will give the coach lot of money, buy the best players, and bring trophy for him, if the coach failed, he will sacked the coach". Roman wouldn't waiting one season, if on the table his clubs not become number 1, just need few week to see chelsea with new coach. Most lucky become Chelsea coach manager because the owner Roman Abramovic is richest person and always give power full for chelsea coach to buy bigger player, first time when Chelses under Jose Mourinho Roman Abramovic give much money for buying Joe Cole, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, now the new coach get the same service with much money every transfer window for Frank Lampard to buy good player like Timo Warner, Kei Havard and Ziyech. I think only Chelsea owner look loyality how to get service and bring good player to stanford Bridger stadium. Maybe next transfer window Chelsea will get new player again and many star player will playing at Chelsea and have chance to be the champion in this season.

For the Leeds game on Monday I see they lost it with 1 goal and they will face tomorrow Aston Villa which has 4 victories, will it end it?  Tongue

Villa vs Leeds is a difficult one to call. Villa have probably been flattered a bit by results, particularly the Leicester one where they won right at the end. Leeds had that close match vs Liverpool, and also drew with Man City... plus they still have the upwards momentum from their promotion season. Could go either way really, although Villa's defence looks strong, so perhaps a 0-0 might be the likeliest outcome (even in this high-scoring season).

The injury of Van Dijk is worse than very first fear and reports from medical team. He will need many months to recover his serious injury...
-snip-
Now that was really bad, Klopp lost one of his best defenders but also someone who is able to score some goals... The defense line is as you said isn't that good lately and it will get worse now...  Undecided
That is a very bad hit indeed for Klopp and if I recall correctly Liverpool have struggled so much in a defensive sense since English football was given the green light to resume in June. With Van Dijk's injury things could not be looking worst. Huh

Lampard in on a break from the very first moment he sat on Chelsea's bench.
He got a season that fans were reluctant to fails and mistakes but now after all those signings and all those money spent people need to see results. If he can't handle a team like Chelsea then there are other teams such as Derby County that he can get experience first...

Update for Van Dijk's injury

The injury of Van Dijk is worse than very first fear and reports from medical team. He will need many months to recover his serious injury and he is already 29-years old. In the meantime, Liverpool's problematic defense system will get more troubles without Van Dijk appearance for the rest of this season. We all know how important Van Dijk is in The Kop's squad and how he brought strength to Liverpool after his transfer from Southampton a few seasons ago.

It's official that Mesut Ozil is left out of Arsenal's Premier League squad. There's battle among Ozil and the Arsenal board, before getting it too serious better to move on another club. I believe leave the club may assist him to demonstrate his class, sometimes he might seem lazy but he is a great player indeed. Does anyone having feeling he gets bad treatment from the club?
its quite unfortunate for Ozil he is far the best and highest current EPL most assists holder and the best midfielder in Arsenal sometimes life is just unfair, he was left out of the national team after the Germans were knocked out of the world cup he was the point of contact and everyone shifted blame to him and he was politically sacked from the national team before his official retirement.

after Umery was fired and Aterta took over last season everyone thought the Ozi Arsenal career would turn out good but sadly it got worst firstly he was left out of the champions league squad and now EPL 25 man squad. its just laughable he earns 350k a week sitting at home playing golf.

Chelsea is currently ranked 8th in the EPL standings even at UCL they (Chelsea) ended in a draw.  they have to improve, heavy pressure awaits Lampard..
It's not like the pressure awaits him, the pressure is already on him and his feeling every bit of it in every game played. Frank Lampard is doing so badly and his lack of experience at the club management is beginning to manifest in his strategies.
Don't watch football with a lot of expectation and sentiment nobody was born with a managerial talent everyone started from grassroot, lampard took average Derby county to championship playoff final lost to Aston villa and was hired with his little experience to manage a big club as chelsea with a transfer ban as a young coach he was able to accumulate young talents from the academy and some other young talents from loan to start his chelsea journey.

before the start of 2019/2020 season chelsea lampard side was tip to finish below 10th by many pundits and sport analyst going into the season with the most young stars, lampard was abe to compete with man city for second position at some point last season before losing to Bournemouth and Westham and finished the season 4th point tie with manutd who spent 200m british pounds and played the FA cup final.

klop spent about 500 million british pounds on payers and took 3 years to get his team liverpool competing for league titles, Pep of Man city took two years to get things right at City.

Very crazy things are happening in london this weekend, chelsea drew to southampton six goals shared by both team equally. Now tot'ham play a six goals shared equally triller.
At this point a team Should not count a win until it over. I think tot'ham played well just letting those goals was crazy.
I think they forgot all the chances were before the referee's whistle three times, they looked like they could easily win by scoring the lead first. Just look at they have a two-goal lead for Chelsea before Danny Ings at the end of the first half and Tottenham lead until the 82nd minute with three goals. To make matters worse, Tottenham in ten minutes conceded three goals. It's a shame that Gareth Bale's debut was not that good and he could even be the unlucky one that day.

Chelsea and Tottenham only lost concentration in the last minute in my opinion, because both Chelsea and Tottenham conceded goals
in the 90th minute. The victory failed to be achieved, this is a lesson for Chelsea and Tottenham to focus until the game ends. Especially
for Tottenham, who played poorly in the second half to concede 3 goals, then regarding Gareth Bale's debut it was not that good. But Bale
only started in 72 minutes, meaning he only played around 18 minutes, so it's only natural that he hasn't shown his best.

Calm down
Yo know it is only five games , this hype maybe will be oover in next five games .
Astonvilla is indeed doing impressive job with barkley loan from chelsea it looks like the game so live in the middle along with grealish connection.
I predict aston villa will go down soon but wont be in relegation battle anymore , mid table like 7th or 8th is far more than better for them if they look back at the last season.

You just said what I had in mind to say. Like everyone else, I'm impressed with Aston Villa's current season performance after the lacklustre performance last season. They even embarrassed my team with our biggest defeat since klopp took the reigns at Liverpool, so yeah. They've been good so far.  However, this isn't the first time an underdog have performed this good in the first set of matches. Let's see till the mid-season if they'd keep up with their consistent performance. Until then, my money is still on the big boys despite terrible performances so far from Liverpool (especially) and Manchester city. I don't even want to mention Chelsea.
Yes everybody will agree regarding this
Impressive run so far from aston villa and everton , honorable mention for leeds even though they lost a couple times but they did show a great performance under bielsa.
If you look at the winning percentage between klop, ole and lampard , you will be impressed even more.

Here i show you the stats :

Win %
Ole 68%
Klopp 58%
Lampard 52%

Lost%
Ole 13%
Klopp 29%
Lampard 32%

Source : trust me bro

No haha seriously this stats is valid.
But united fans calm down, stats doesnt win titles lol

The couching job is not just about your view of the games from being on the pitch, watching the games from outside the pitch comes with a different work load and that's what Frank Lampard is lacking and needs to build on.
The game with Sevilla might seem like a big success and I believe it is, at least they've not conceived, they've got the home advantage and managed to share a point but they should be winning at this point. They've lost a lot of games already for a turn around. Imagine Southampton coming back to draw Chelsea in a game that they've got 2 goals head start already.

I am not sure if this is true but if this is the case (Ozil was not selected) I think it is a little unfair..

In the last sentence of his tweet, Ozil also believed that the reason he was dropped from Arsenal was due to his comments that offended China for defending Muslims in the Uighurs.

I am sorry hilariousetc but it seems you have never played football in the real world. I had a futsal team some years ago and our supporters really made a difference.
It's important to feel that your supporters are pushing for you and are waiting for you to score a fantastic goal; not to mention they are good also if you lose because they won't let you down (unless your team is utter crap). Nope, I am sorry but I disagree completely with what you said. Wink

Agree with you there, think back to the CL semi final in 2019, Liverpool were 3-0 down from the 1st leg. Do you think it would have been possible to beat Barcelona 4-0 in the 2nd leg in an empty stadium with no Anfield atmosphere?

No chance!
You'll never walk alone, right?  Wink Yes, indeed no chance! That is the beauty of football without that it is really only 22 guys running after a ball! What a boring game. I miss so much not being able to go to a stadium and I hope this whole pandemic will soon be over so that we can have our lives back. I am tired of watching them on the TV.
But sadly most chances we will able to have matches in stadium from new year no one giving permission in near future because cases rising very quickly and its not a good deal for any sports lover few chances they will allow 30% to 35% in near future if they feel good for security of all players and crowd.
