A risky decision results in disappointment.
Why should lampard rest his top scorer even though the UCL match they have to play is still next week and this Saturday they still have to play with Tottenham which certainly won't be easy to get points, meaning there is a possibility not get the maximum in 2 EPL matches just to concentrate at UCL.

Because he has trust in his other members of the squad I guess. I mean, to be fair, even Giroud actually scored, so it wasn't like they couldn't score, just too bad for VAR that BOTH goals got cancelled out. I think Lampard just wants to risk getting a good result in CL but you're right, this was a huge blow for them to gain qualification for next season.

I played Manchester United draw no bet yesterday night and didn’t play a good amount of money as I thought chances are low for this to happen.I was gladly surprised when I checked the result at Flashscore and saw the result of 0-2.I think Chelsea lately has problems with their game play.

Very disappointing outcome of the match, Chelsea didn't play that badly to lose 2-0 to united. When I saw the lineup, I was furious but after taking sometime to think, I just hope Lampard's gamble paids off. He rested our top scorer for the champions league game coming soon and started players like Batshuayi which cost use this match with the numerous chances he missed.

That was really awkward from Lampard when he rested Abraham. I had him in my Majestic 7 and now my hopes are gone for this round of M7. Batshuayi was good in spotting players along with him to pass and make the play but he really missed the opportunities that was made to him. Abraham should have played far more better if he would have played.

Giroud had an impact that was worth mentioning, his linkup passes where superb and that brilliant header that got rules out by VAR for offside, just wished he started instead of Batshuayi. Pedro was confused although the match as his presence wasn't not felt.

Mount has been criticized all season but that free kick was something else, more from him in that manner and he might just win back the Chelsea supporters heart. Nevertheless the boys tried their best and it's disappointing to know that Ole was able to beat us in all competition this season.

Ps: Ighalo physicality shouldn't be underestimated, he got alot of goals in him. Congratulations on his debut (which he almost scored).

@CryptopreneurBrainboss I had a gut feeling which told me that I should wager a bet on Manchester United to win the match, but since they have not produced consistent results this season I avoided placing a bet and now I regret it lol.

The match would have been turned in Chelsea’s favour had Maguire been given the red card when the score was goalless, now whether it was a red card or not I guess it’s difficult to say as each one will have different opinions regarding it.

I believe Chelsea didn’t play that bad, but they were screwed by VAR who disallowed two of their goals and that really impacted their rhythm.

As a Manchester United fan I’m happy with those three points as it moves us one step closer to play in the champions league, and Chelsea fans should be worried as their top 4 spot is no longer secured.

It was an interesting match with united scaling through with 2 goals.

Kante injury was an initial blow to chelsea, but batshuayi missed chances was a bigger blow.
Now the top 4 race is blown open, and with chelsea having spurs and bayern consecutively in the coming weeks, it is not looking.

The var rules were harsh, but thats football. I see chelsea losing 4th position to Spurs come saturday, with spurs winning chelsea with 2 goals to 1
Was waiting for a draw (VAR or not, whatever) which didn't happens.
Anyway next games, Man City has to face Westham Wednesday then Leicester in Saturday for the battle of the second spot.
Chelsea VS Spurs for the 4th rank.
Crystal Palace vs Newcastle and Arsenal vs Everton are just close in the rank. Man United can jump +1 or +2 ranks. Interesting  Wink

Interesting matches,  City should go clear of westham and both Leicester and retain second spot. Chelsea spurs for me is a 2-1 spurs win
Arsenal will have another dour draw, if not a loss against everton and  i will like to see what type of Manchester united we are going to witness against Watford.

Ha! i remember not so long ago, When Chelsea played against Arsenal and Jorginho was supposed to have got a red card but even after the VAR review he stayed on and even went on to score  a goal that would change the tide of the game in Chelsea's favour.

I guess what goes around comes around  Cheesy

Yes you are very right, i think we can just term it inconsistency surrounding english premier league referees, And to imagine Son also got a red card lol.
Chelsea were ousted, and with the injuries, the coming weeks could be worse.

I think.
This is very frustrating for Chelsea. Despite their dominance throughout the game, they could not win. This is really unfortunate. Their shots and corners were both created for the opportunity but they could not be used. Even they were almost twice above the possession. In fact, luck is needed to win the game.

Are you gambling or you are talking about the EPL pool prediction?
It was a gambling prediction. I was gambling on the draw to up my parlay return... and it obviously didn't work! Undecided

I was doing OK this round too... as the other results went as predicted and I'm sure City will beat West Ham tomorrow, not that it really matters for me now, as my parlay is broken Sad

Chelsea - Manchester United starts in around 1 hour.
I think that Chelsea needs this win more in order to keep their position in the league table and try to be in a close level to the 3rd position. I am going to bet for their win tonight.
Your luck is bad, it seems your prediction didn't work. So far Man United are leading 2-0. The game is almost over. Best wishes for the predictions of the next game.

I am watching, the game is low on attacking quality. Nearly half time, hopefully it improves in the 2nd half. Now with City banned from the CL 5th will get in. It should be an incentive for these two teams to fight.

Martial scored the first goal for his team, and i think the match will know many goals tonight, Chelsea are now forced to threaten Manchester defenses.I don’t know if Chelsea can do that.Sure, the second half will be fun, so I am forced to follow the match's roles!!!!

Watched the entire match. Arsenal wasn't convincing in first half but second half was definitely exciting from an Arsenal fans' perspective. Dani Ceballos played well after returning from Injury. It is evident that he was missed in the middle during his absence.

Arsenal didn't really play convincingly, but I don't think the scoreline is harsh on Newcastle's performance though, they were barely resistant. I'd rather Arsenal fans don't really dwell on this victory, there's still a lot of work to be done with no the squad. However IArteta seemed to know what he's doing, it would be in Arsenal's best interest to keep him for a longer period, at least until next season.
it's been a while I see Arsenal play in such an attacking way,  the second half was highly interesting,  they played convincingly,  they played like they wanna score on every minutes, on a good day Arsenal would have defended when leading by two goals to nil,  but they still keep on attacking.

Arteta is really doing an awesome job with the team,  it's been a while Arsenal had won by 4 goals unreplied, the defense is getting more organized,  really feels good seeing Lacazette celebrating in such a joyous way,  hopefully he keeps on scorring more goals
