Wow. 5th, 6th, 7th and 10th in EPL all dropped out.

To be fair, Liverpool also got knocked out at this stage twice recently but then we had to meet EPL opponents... so that appears to again be the case with Arsenal our next meet (but to be fair I prefer meeting Arsenal than League One opponents).

@leea you're right, if we play the kids again, we're no longer an outright favourite. Loved our forwards, if slightly disappointed in Brewster... but we gave away a lot of chances.
This carabao cup is completely unpredictable... I mean a big teams like liverpool, chelsea, arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester city could use the second squad or even third squad for this competition in case there's more important game shceduled on a bigger stage like champions league, EPL or FA cup.

That's why betting on a superhigh odds championship clubs, league 1 even league two to win this tournament become more exciting  Grin.

So far the bookies still put Manchester city as a favorite along with liverpool who superbly unbeaten this season.

It would probably be going long like that in the future as well. Any team that plays in league, champions league (or europa) and then domestic cups will probably just keep playing a bit of bench, a bit of regulars and a bit of youth.

I know this sounds like football manager level of idea and I know it sounds silly but it is quite understandable to play your real players on champions league, 6-7 or even 8 regular players on the league with 3-4 bench players (goal keeper mostly stays all the time) and on FA cup type things you can have like 5 players from regulars and 4 bench and some youths in there and when it comes to stuff like Caraboa cup you can go with mostly benched players and youth.

The "regulars" you play in these games could change all the time, the 5-6-7-8 or whatever regulars you will play doesn't have to be the same guys, you change them up so that even twice a week a guy gets a rest and that makes them fresh but all regulars play on all champions league games unless something big happens.

Those last two matches...Oh boy  Shocked

Those two matches are the must seen games for the round, Everton vs Watford too should be a another tough fixture...

Imagine how much of an easy ride Tottenham could have had if their negligence didn't cost them against Colchester

Such interesting matches from that draw.
I think it would be great to see Chelsea getting a win against Manchester United, as this would be good for Lampard's morale and for the players' as well.
Liverpool won't have any difficulty against Arsenal.

^^ Which side you are on? One second you were siding for Liverpool and in the another 2nd you flipped your side LOL
I like the sarcasm style though

Arsenal has a chance if Mane, Salah, van Dijk and of-course Klopp takes a break to visit his family 😉

Nice 4th round matches! So many Premier League teams dropped out last night I feel a little less bad Spurs did not make it through hehe.

But I would bet on Arsenal on this next 4th round. Last night only 1 first choice guy played which is Naby Keita and he was just coming back from injury. All strikers who were regular were not even sitting on the bench. If they do the same, Arsenal will win.
You are saying Arsenal will beat Liverpool in Anfield, in the home ground (?) and when Liverpool is showing their top football? Come on man, I do not think current Arsenal team is that good. I will expect 3 - 1 win for Liverpool.

Come on guys. We see the facts now!
That Liverpool is so favored in this match, I don't even think I can win at Liverpool. Because the difference between Liverpool and Arsenal is very far now.

Okay, I appreciate your prediction @leea-1334
Arsenal could have won, if the core players from Liverpool suffered injuries.

I bet in this match and Liverpool will win.

Watching the Manchester United-Rochadale match and seeing how United are struggling to get a goal with all the possession we enjoying, does this team have any forwards that can deliver a goal that will give us some hope when we meet Arsenal this weekend???
Have you forgotten?

They sold off Lord Lukaku and Sanchez, refused to replace them and thought they could rely on Rashford and Lingard, a pair i still feel is overrated because of English Media.
The Daniel James kid might also be head in the same path.

As I speak, United and Rochdale are level.  Grin
I could be bias with my opinion on english player cause they are the most inconsistent have seen in football especially for forward play. They are very good as centre defenders and keeper but predictable as forward players, thats why they dont last at that position. I am so sure that mason mount is not a typical English footballer and if he is, his time is short.

...It’s a shame that their best team in decades looks to have run its course without winning a single trophy. I expect Poch to leave next summer & players like Eriksen, Vertonghen & Alderweireld to go too, seeking silverware elsewhere.

I do not think the team has run it's cause yet. Eriksen would very likely move on next summer and maybe some other names, but they still have a young squad and can reinvest into equally good talents. Over the years they have lost some very good players, notably, Bale, Modric and Walker, and yet they had a fantastic run in the UCL last season.

Pochetinno however would be a very huge loss, after years of switching managers quickly they would want to win something out of his extended stay in charge, and would not want to return to switching managers.

I will also follow two more matches:
Chelsea vs Man Utd: Chelsea to win
Man City vs Southampton: City to win

That may be the case, but for some of the top teams in England, the league cup and the Carabao cup could be the best chance for a title this season. City and Liverpool are on levels above anyone else and would likely compete for the league.
We saw Tottenham drop out in the last round and the Spurs fans continue their wait for a title in many years.

Spurs fans will be upset about that imo, you’re right that it was possibly their only realistic chance of silverware. It’s a shame that their best team in decades looks to have run its course without winning a single trophy. Perhaps you could bet after seeing the Line ups. I don't think klopp is insensitive. He will definitely know that they are playing against Arsenal so a number of regular players will start.

I expect the youngsters to be on the starting line-up tho. They're not that bad for their first time feeling the pressure of first-team football. Especially Elliot. Klopp would probably change keep the front three, tweak the midfield with Fabinho, and bring back Robbo & Arnold.

Both Arsenal & Liverpool will field what some might perceive as weakened teams in that cup match. There’s so many games, it’s impossible to pick the strongest teams in these domestic cup matches & compete in the PL & CL/EL also. Plus it gives the managers chance to see how good their youth players are & the squad players get a game too.

Both matches are indeed interesting. And I am more pleased with the Chelsea vs Manchester Unitted match. I want to see again how Manchester United deal with it, because as far as United men have not given their best performance. I hope they don't experience defeat again.

Secondly, try having a look at Arsenal's record at Anfield. It should help to guide you Smiley

Interesting Matches ahead. Can't wait for the fourth round to come buy. I think it's safe to say it's the end of road for Arsenal  Grin
Liverpool are probably going to enjoy playing against them at their home turf again.
