Why do people say the Premier league is the best in the world when in reality England never makes it past round 1 of the World Cup?

If it was so good, they would always be in the finals.

The best league is Spain or Germany. Probably Spain. But Germany is in the top 3 for sure. Don't come at me with that Premier League #1 bullcrap. Roll Eyes

premier league is best because premier league is very competitive. and you need to know, national team quality is not based on the quality of the league. And on the England team, why England's national team difficulties in world competition? Because the premier league is mostly filled by non-English players even non europe, so it is not based on the league.
YES, premier league is the best league in the world from the competitiveness , there always will be a couple of teams taking everyone by surprise like  Leicester  city last season no one expect that leicester will be the chompion

Match Newcastle - Manchester City is on programme tonight. After this match Manchester City will probably have 15 points lead.
In my opinion they already won this year's championships.

because premier league is so competitive, not only 1 team dominating. simple and easy question
English Premier League need so many changes to do good for England in World Cup they have very tough schedule for players and they have too many matches too much high pays in this case they are best in world if they do some flexible schedule and softer terms then they can produce more good world cup winners for England

wtf is wrong with man united? 0-2 in the first half, if they lose in this match I don't know what to say. maybe it's time for a new manager ?

Man united were lucky to escape with a draw. All odds were against Mourinho's boys from the first whistle. Todays squad looked confused and there was no communication at all. It looked like everyone was trying to out-do his colleague. I pity for Lukaku who is now looking like someone who doesn't know what to do on the field. Mourinho needs to do something otherwise with the current competition for 2nd, 3rd and 4th places, he might end up losing it out.

Manchester United will be thanking their stars that they got one point from this match. Coming back from 2-0 down is not easy, and they managed to equalize only in injury time. Their hopes of catching up with Manchester City are slowly slipping away.
the race for the title is already ended City cannot let any game slip from their hands Guardiola wants to make history with City keeping the club undefeated will be something that can make fans happy and help them attracting more fans globally. United needs more time to build they still lack the number 10 they need some rumors says that they wants to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus also I think they need some good backs Valencia is getting older and need a replacement and Shaw is not relayed on by Mourinho Lukaku needs to improve and show himself in bigger games and when he is needed.

Mourinho should start giving Rashford a chance to play the striker role ahead of Lukaku.  It's the only option he's got, especially with Ibra not in full health (I think).

Rashford's is talent is being wasted by letting him play at the wings.

Can Lukaku play the No. 10/AM role?  Just wondering...

There is only 1 match today - Manchester City vs Newcastle. Manchester City are comfortably on top of the league tables, while Newcastle is at 15. Their forms couldn't be more contrasting - Manchester City have had a fabulous run, while Newcastle have had a string of losses. I see Manchester City winning by at least a margin of 2 goals.

The history has beet written today by Harry Kane because he just broke Lionel Messi record of the best striker in the currenct year 2017.
Harry Kane also broke the possession of this title which has been holded on between the Argentenian Lionel messi and "ElDon" Cristiano Ronaldo.

Looks like all favorites survived this boxing day with victories.
Except for Manchester United who seems to always suffer when needed to perform.
Atleast they did not lose today and came back from being down 2 goals from a dismal first half of their game.
Overall a good holidays for the EPL.
Just need to wait on the results from tomorrow games and Manchester City does not look to disappoint.

If i remember correctly, Manchester United in 2nd had quite a lead in the league table, i think it was 6 points lead over Chelsea, and around 9 points over 4th place. Now look at them, Chelsea is just 1 point behind them, and Liverpool and Tottenham are not too far away. At least their next game is against Southampton, a team that's been having a really bad form lately (last 5 games: 3 losses, 2 draws).

It is becoming difficult for Mourinho to defend his own players when the underperform like they did but besides this what a great performance from Lingard who made the biggest difference today for the team.... the likes of lukaku's need to prove their worth as Manu fans will not settle for draws games, and to be honest am now seeing Chelsea to be better suited for 2nd position starting next month.

Manchester United are really lucky because they did not experience defeat in boxing day matches before 2017 is closed. But, with this draw, they seem to have to work hard again to improve their game performance in order to catch the top standings while the Premier League.

Manchester United almost losing their face in front of their fans. Burnley was leading by two goals at first half and it was so surprising. Draw result indeed not the best result for MU but at least they didn't lose. MU still lucky this time!

5-2 for tottenham against southampton and hattrick for Kane!
he made the new record of goals in 1 year in the Premier League: 39 goals surpassing Sherear (36)

Kane is also the best scorer of 2017 with 56 goals in 52 matches, an average of over 1 goal scored for every match!

Kane has scored more goals than:

Messi 54
Cr7,Lewandowsky 53
Cavani 52

What a difference two games in one week can do, to score more than 10% of his entire year's supply in two consecutive hattricks? Some people have all the luck! But all credit due to the guy, he overcame his August (or was it his July?) usual hoodoo. I really like the guy, and I feel for him every time the rest of the team lets his down. But to fire in all these goals, even at the expense of toppling Salah (temporarily), I can do so without feeling bad.

Fewer shots on target percentage than Salah, but better conversion of those. So less precise, more lethal finishing? As they often say, form is temporary, class is permanent.
