That's way we will see scammers offering ASIC miners. They know there will be anxious, greedy people willing to believe that scammers will be able to fulfill their promises, even if their offer is ridiculously full of red flags. It's like the bitswing.com guys offering BTCS at 21$.

If it is not too much trouble could someone point me to where paypal's protection policy is clear on buyer's protection outside of ebay or other recognized selling platforms? I checked the paypal site for protection measurements regarding email to email payments, but find nothing specific about protection when using paypal this way as 2 private persons.

Freifallspoiler, I hope for the best for you, but the whole story so far stinks. The minimum should be a correct address, not one where people working, say they don't have a clue.

Well, that's what I said. You get a nice radiator full of chips that gives you 0.00000 Mhashes. Good luck explaining that to paypal.

Item not as described... item not even close to described. Seller claims it does a certain function at a certain speed, it doesn't.

I was not asked to state something about anything beeing a gift nor did I. I even wrote the text of my order and a description of the device ordered in the comment of the payment

Yeah Paypal Buyer Protection applies if he paid and market it as a payment for a purchase. He has 45 days to open a dispute. If the seller asked him to mark it as "gift" and he complied, then he's been ripped off.

They are not? Sounds a bit alike when I check the PayPal chargeback rules. What problems could occur? When the seller already cashed out it is more PayPal's problem than mine, isn't it?

How come you are protected by paypal? did you order from a site that has a specific paypal protection disclaimer, or do you have an invoice from a trader that has some paypal approval, or did you just sent money to another paypal user? I'm very interested about how your deal was made exactly.

I believe you were too anxious. As stated, I'm going to be in Bud next week. We have two or three hungarian bitcoiners who already went to the different addresses advertised with no success, and who are ready to go again to check the units in person. I would have waited to have a confirmation from them before placing an order.
