@IGS: Still waiting on an answer about a Linux Qt, that being said I am wanting to try diff options to get my win client working again. Where can I download the chain outside of the client so when I do run the client it's maybe backlogged like 100 blocks instead of 40+ k like it is now or w/e.

Ty.

Sure

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9tCHKMNZjyYU0xvZXRkcjd2Zm8

Download, make executable, and give it a try
Thx m8.

Is that a download for the chain to use on the win machine as a one last test case ? or a Linux QT. Assuming Linux qt since you said make it executable.

Where might I also be able to download the chain outside of the client like we could with BUCKS and some of the other coins ?

Using large prime numbers as a proof of work is a valid and useful concept.

Still to make a cryptocurrency using a bitcoin styled blockchain around this idea is one with many challenges.

Known challenges:

Other projects unrelated to cryptocurrency have a large head start.

The validation process is cumbersome (just as in the other projects I mentioned)

i.e. see these for examples http://www.mersenne.org

https://primes.utm.edu/primes/

I think it impossible to find & validate 'blocks' on any regularly scheduled basis.
So while bitcoins average block time is ten minutes a cryptocurrency based on this type proof of work would likely have blocks spaced at much longer times.

Finally when considering a project like this I recall at one time RSA used to pay bounties out a long time ago.
They stopped so I believe private and government firms have in their posession hardware & software that is not public domain and vastly superior to public domain resources.

Just a few items to consider.

I was referring to this post. This is the reason Primes simply give bonuses and the actual work is done via staking to maintain the blockchain
Ahh, well what about the linux qt I asked for so I can try to get a running wallet on the linux laptop I got ?

I am open to using new formulas if they can be 100% accurate
