Would you actually be able to do it full time? Sounds like an easy way to burnout after several days at most, and it would only be a matter of time before you would get banned. Your posts in that experiment aren't that bad actually (compared to an average stake.com/yobit sig-spam shitposter), but I bet your post quality would start suffering soon, to the point of getting eventually banned.
I would probably be able to do it full-time. Lowering the speed, you can start to get into the mind-numbing state of ennui and start pumping out the posts with automation. Considering most of the shitposts are just vague, generalized bullshit that are either one-liners or just jam-packed with false rhetoric and repetitious nonsense, it isn't that difficult to just repeat essentially the same things about "the bitcoin" over and over again.

Now the number of posters has been reduced, posting in various section I seldom see Stake signature now, they have limited the number of participants and the number of posts, I thought they will implement the tier system like what Hhampuz is doing in his campaigns, it's a good and successful system but anyway the $11 per 10 posts is a good rate but Bitcoin payment is still better now that the price is moving.

You could probably crank it up to 80-100 posts per hour if you started jumping into megathreads and going really generic. That's $30/h for essentially non-stop work. It's equivalent to about a 5.5 hour (per day) work week.

Make a script to generate generic remarks about "the bitcoin" and you'll find your margins increasing more.

In light of the changes to the stake.com signature campaign, I have withdrawn my request to have stake.com signatures blacklisted, pending the success of the changes made by Stake.

I do think those listed in the OP should be reviewed for bans, for merit abuse and ban evasion as mentioned in the OP if this has not already been done.

someone remembers, Yobit signature ban it's over for a couple of days and if Yobit runs again his campaign, probably most of all from Stake will move to Yobit.
Next time, if Yobit applies same approach to run their campaign, I believe not only Yobit campaign will be banned permanently, but also some of their participants might have to face with serious punishments that they don't expect for. I don't offend the Yobit (despite they are shitty exchange, IMO) and their participants, but the forum should be kept as clean as possible. Spamming is the most terrible thing in the forum, back in 2017 and 2018, before merit system born; so after years of clearly positive effects from merit system to control spammers (at least prevent them move up in ranks), it's terrible to see such campaign like Yobit strongly motivates spammers woke up and spammed.

Obviously, they want to change something in this campaign. Here is a new thread with some statistics data https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/stakecom-signature-campaign-a-new-kind-of-future-5154153 and Steve asking feedback from the community. It is a good move.

Finally we heard something with responsibility to the forum.Better run the signature campaign with high quality poster rather than terminating it for low quality posts.

Thumbs up for acknowledging that there are indeed problems and not trying to point finger at others.

As much as this statement seems positive, I think the problem is in the campaign manager who run this signature campaign - and he obviously has problems with recognizing good and bad members, or quality and spam posts.

Stunna is also react first time when problem is detected, but in almost 4 months the situation has not changed for the better.

I forwarded this to Steve and the rest of the Stake team. Obviously there are some valid points highlighted here, there is no doubt that this is creating a huge amount of spam. Hopefully they can make some changes that the community finds agreeable.
I have no idea what the deal is with Stunna and Stake, is the former a co-owner or something? Regardless, unless she happens to be the actual campaign manager which seems unlikely, then that might be the only thing she can do(if she’s just a rep or something).

Honestly we have failed to responsibly moderate this campaign and the result has been endless spam.

I just talked to the Stake team yesterday about shuttering the signature campaign. They will first begin today by removing all the low value posters, in a weeks time if there is not a drastic improvement I will see that the campaign is terminated.

Thumbs up for acknowledging that there are indeed problems and not trying to point finger at others.

They also increased the minimum character count from 20 to 25, presumably to help cut down on spam. Roll Eyes
The should really drop this, and not just them, any campaign.

This text is spammy.
This text is not spammy at all.

If I remember correctly Loycev has one of the shortest merited posts, a simple "NO", but that was all the user asking for help needed.

Is there any way to view the edit history of that page? Now I'm curious what changes have been made.
There's an archived version from February 17th available here: https://archive.is/BkOJv

As you say, the pay rate back then was 0.001 BTC per 10 posts for Heroes and Legendaries, so 1000 posts a week to max out.

The actual changes seem to be limiting the sections which users can post in and adding a bunch of extra bonus rewards. They also increased the minimum character count from 20 to 25, presumably to help cut down on spam. Roll Eyes Even back then, however, it still contains the obvious lies about not paying for spam and removing spammers from the campaign.

Bingo, I'm just happy that I did indeed remember correctly.
Thanks for providing the archived version, bookmarking that website for future use!

Now that Stunna has replied, this is pointless, but those changes made matters even worse indeed.

The reply from appropriate person was already there above your post.

It says they are going to remove the low quality posters, what can expect from them to do that this.

Yeah already seen that, nothing to prove on my post. Just want to clearly state that spamming is often there.

I've got a thread in gambling discussion where most all of the replies are from participants of stake.
Nothing to prove here, just want to share that signature spamming is a thing in gambling discussion and I hope they've got removed or received a warning because the replies are non-sense.  Sad

I'm tired of seeing this  Undecided

I messaged SteveStake when I created this thread asking him to comment, and pointing him to this thread. It seems he has responded by creating this thread soliciting reports of signature spammers.

Merit alone doesn't decide a quality poster but most of the time it will be helpful to differentiate spammer and good poster.

As QS says, to hit maximum you would need 2667 posts. For a standard full time job of 40 hours a week, this means a post every 54 seconds for 40 hours.

These numbers are utterly ridiculous. To suggest a user is able to open a thread, read the OP, read the replies, formulate and type a worthwhile and non-spammy reply, and move on to the next thread, all in 2 minutes, let alone in less than 1 minute, is preposterous.
Absolutely.

A while ago, I was actually thinking about joining their campaign as some sort of experiment, back when they still paid a maximum of 0.1 BTC per week (if I remember correctly).
Just to see if I could actually manage to make those 1000 posts required to get the max amount. Not sure if it was a 1000 exactly, but that's the number I vaguely remember.
Not by shitposting my way to 1000 mind you.
They are paying $0.3 per post for legendary members, and bitcoin is trading at roughly $8000/btc. In order to get 0.1 BTC you would need to make about 2667 posts.

This would be basically a full time job.

is there any Legendary member in this campaign? They can earn more from shitty ICO than in Stake.

I find in local board many complains to campaign management, very poor communications between manager and participants, also people talk that he counts all posts even posted in bounty threads. It is worst than Yobit campaign a few weeks ago.
Not sure if there is any posts from legendary member paid for because manager don't want to pst the public spreadhseet but I saw many hero and legendary were still wearing stake signature even if they can earn only shit from joining on it.

I know someone in who is in their campaign and there is a time when they mute the group chat according to a friend, participants can't voice out there opinions but they can pm Steve there's a report that they are going to kick out some people, this is to make the campaign compliant to the community's standard, unfortunately there's no mentioned of limiting the post or increasing the rate.

I think they did change their rates, they first had their rates in Bitcoin didn't they?
But yeah, the point is still the same, it's pretty much impossible to achieve the max. payout without spamming.
Yeah, according to their thread, their current rates for Heroes and Legendaries is $3 per 10 posts, with a max of 0.1 BTC weekly: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/stakecom-a-signature-campaign-for-everyone-closed-5110093.

As QS says, to hit maximum you would need 2667 posts. For a standard full time job of 40 hours a week, this means a post every 54 seconds for 40 hours. Even someone was posting for 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, they would still have to post every 2 minutes 12 seconds.

These numbers are utterly ridiculous. To suggest a user is able to open a thread, read the OP, read the replies, formulate and type a worthwhile and non-spammy reply (or preferably don't, if they have nothing constructive to add), and move on to the next thread, all in 2 minutes, let alone in less than 1 minute, is preposterous. To somehow claim that this isn't encouraging spam is equally preposterous.

Oh I know, at the current rates those calculations are correct, I just thought they had a slightly higher rate when they first launched their campaign.
I definitely remember their rate per 10 posts was also denominated in Bitcoin.

But yeah, I'd have some real trouble getting to those numbers, even if I treated this as a full-time job for a week.

The 25-posts-per-week campaigns are much better in that regard. If you're going to allow campaigns, I think that should really be the preferred formula.
Gotta admit that I'm also quite annoyed at seeing so many low-quality Stake posters all over the forum.

Too bad, aside from Yobit this is the only campaign I remember getting a lot of complaints and what makes things really alarming is they have Steve to manage the campaign compare to Yobit which has no one to monitor participants, I expect a new update next week to make the campaign better now that the community are all in one in complaining.
The problem is not with the manager,no posting limits made this campaign to be a welcome campaign of spammers and the low pay rates made it more ugly because people will try to post as much as they can.

Having maximum posts per day/week will solve this issue.

Nope it's on the manager do you think managers like LoyceV, yahoo62278 Hhampuz will accept this type of campaign, and will allow spammers to join the campaign and not banning anyone for spamming and will they allow participants to do unlimited post, Steve can set the maximum post but a spammer will always spam.

I wore the stake signature in first days lunch, then leaving it after 4 or 5 posts. I waited for a spreadsheet in public, but nothing happened. I can't trust managers who hide the spreadsheets.
You can only see the spreadsheet if you are on the campaign, I'm joining their bounty for 3 weeks. The bad side is you don't know you accepted or not since the spreadsheet is not public, you need to wait for Steve to PM you, that can happen in a day or two. He also not tell you if you are not accepted so you kinda hanging with their signature waiting to be accepted without getting paid.

I did not run the names of who applied for their signature campaign up against users who are currently banned
I can do that:
~
Thanks for that. If all 51 banned users were participating in the stake.com signature campaign, they would make up over 22% of their campaign, and if 26 (half) were in the campaign when banned, it would make up over 13% of the campaign. In either case, this is way too many.

Someone also posted about the merit abuse I was asking to be looked into in the OP. They said they were named in the OP, and had collected a lot of merit in the collectables section, and gave an explanation as to all their deleted posts, but it seems they have deleted their post.

Transparency is fundamental for me to continue posting for any campaign.

I remember read suggestions about set of rules for bounty managers because this not the only case, most signature campaigns in altcoin section are spamming the forum (somes have more than 200 participants) and we can't even know how many campaigns are actually running.

The worst thing about this campaign is they convert the rate from Bitcoin to the dollar just when the price of Bitcoin is going up, members are requesting an increase in their pay rate but Stevestake never listens to his campaigners. I wonder if he will now listen  Roll Eyes if the majority of the community will take action against his campaign, he should resign, there are better campaign managers here and they have a better portfolio to show to management.

I have a question about the deleted posts. I see QS posted some info on a few users but is it possible to see how many posts were deleted from each user while wearing the Stake signature? Or to separate the number of deleted new posts a user made with the signature on vs number of older posts deleted?
You would have to ask Vod if he keeps information about the date of posts that were deleted, or at least when they were deleted and cross reference this with when they posted an application in the stake.com signature campaign thread.

Hilarious also has access to old reports, but I’m not sure how far back what he has access to goes.

He is trying to show he is doing something about the problem he caused in response to this thread and the possibility he won’t be able to advertise via spammers anymore. His solution isn’t going to work— it isn’t the community’s job to police his spammers and his proposal isn’t being taken very well.
I agree with you on that one. In fact, his "solution" is a joke at best.

I messaged SteveStake when I created this thread asking him to comment, and pointing him to this thread. It seems he has responded by creating this thread soliciting reports of signature spammers.
So his solution is to not provide a solution but let the community do the work for him? This has made the situation worse. Roll Eyes
He is trying to show he is doing something about the problem he caused in response to this thread and the possibility he won’t be able to advertise via spammers anymore. His solution isn’t going to work— it isn’t the community’s job to police his spammers and his proposal isn’t being taken very well.

I participated in the first weeks of the Stake campaign. It suited me because I post quite a lot.
But I left because Steve kept changing the rules, encouraging quantity over quality. Some of the best posters also left, I guess for the same reasons.

Steve keeps accepting new users and lowering the rates for each participant. As a result, you get low quality posters looking to make a quick buck, the same kind of users you get in altcoins campaigns. I remember someone mentioning 173 users, not sure though.

If I were Stake (not Steve), I'd restart the whole thing from the scratch, I'd pick a limited amount of participants and give better rewards. Some mixers campaigns have closed recently, this is the best time to do so, I'm sure the applications will be of quality if the campaign pays well and is managed professionally.

I see a confession:
I've been managing the Stake.com signature campaign and I admit I've accepted some low quality posters
"some" Cheesy

I've been managing the Stake.com signature campaign and I admit I've accepted some low quality posters because I assumed anyone who was capable of achieving a rank such as Senior member or higher without being banned was credible enough to be given a chance. This has proven to not be the case.

hey that's not a fair quote lol

No, at least I'm not aware of this type of contest. I have checked the pinned post on telegram but no such contest is listed in the pinned message. If it was, I guess the forum would be flooded within 1 week.
3 types of contest is listed-
1. High quality post
<>

Out of pure curiosity, are the winning posts mentioned or just the user that has won?
Cause I would love to see what posts have earned this in the past.  Roll Eyes
Users were mentioned, not the posts. I need to dig a lot to find out but I think some of thehe winning users derserve the post. They didn't spam at least. I have had checked one weel only when I submitted 5 posts for winning the high quality contest. Very few good posters are wearing the stake signature because of the low rate.

Why did yobit get banned and not stake? That really isnt fair. I hope yobit comes back

129 users who were wearing a yobit signature and had at least 1 good report against them in the last 14 days are banned for 14 days. All yobit signatures are wiped. Signatures containing "yobit.net" are banned for 60 days.

Some people were talking about neg-trusting spammers for spamming. This is not appropriate; report the posts, and if that doesn't seem to be working well, come to Meta with specific examples and suggestions.

Upon looking it looks like, they will be back... Its just the signatures that are blocked....

Time to contact the owner of the stake to make changes for that campaign.
I did, almost 4 months ago:
I've sent Stunna a PM, asking to check this thread.
I forwarded this to Steve and the rest of the Stake team. Obviously there are some valid points highlighted here, there is no doubt that this is creating a huge amount of spam. Hopefully they can make some changes that the community finds agreeable.
All the complain of the participants steve stake ignore that, Contact him to telegram.

You try contact stevestake? I think time to change campaign manager because that campaign manager was lazy and they did all of this for his own sake.

The real problem that is the campaign manager who implementing rules, because if stevestake implementing 25 post per week to get paid like 0.005 bitcoin.  Participants will not force to make more post. Stevestake is a blind person because this campaign manager was greedy to turn stake to become famous fastly. Time to contact the owner of the stake to make changes for that campaign.

1. High quality post
2. 1st page contest (gambling only)
3. 1st page contest (other payable section)

I have had left this campaign because-
1. The rate was tiny.
2. Contest was not in my favor (I didn't like in fact, I have submitted once 5 posts for high quality post contest, no luck with the post)
3. Many were complaining against this campaign.

This does not mean they're all bad users.
Merit is based on last Friday's data dump. I only show Merit if there has been at least 1 transaction. If it shows 0 Merit, that means the user has sent Merit, but didn't receive anything.
Trust is only shown if it's non-neutral.

The root cause of the spam is 1st Page Contest. User with the highest post in 1st page will win the contest. Guess how they jump into the new thread. I have had the chance (if I can recall correctly) to see almost all of the posts by stake campaign participants in the first page of a thread.

I don't see this in their topic, probably they invented quite a few more...
I was always amazed how the stake participants were flocking at the start of the topic and then you would not see a trace of them once you go to page 3 and 4. Quote them, call out their bs, nothing!

Are topic starters counted also? It might explain why CryptoBry has opened 30 in  10 days.
Anyhow, another mystery solved....and I was thinking those posts are so high up cause are lighter than air due to having zero substance  Grin Grin Grin

This rule should also probably be removed:

Requirements

3 posts per thread maximum (you can of course do more but they won't count towards the campaign)

It was probably made with good intentions but all it does is encourage/force users to post in threads they have no interest in.
I was a part of stake signature as well and for that reason, I have had been added to the telegram group.
No such rule was there at the beginning but later Steve added this rule for couple of weeks but recently the rule was changed, no limit is there.

It directly encouraging spam.

This will end up being a waste of time as long as they don't hire a proper manager. That's the actual cause of the problem.

Maybe this would be a bit too harsh, but I think that banning the culprit signatures should force them rethink their strategy, including the option to hire a proper manager.

They should probably do a complete overhaul of who is on the campaign. Remove everyone and start again and only accept users who make decent posts. Accepting everyone and anyone is just asking for trouble and it will quickly be abused as it has been. It's much more beneficial to have a handful of quality posters rather than dozens or even hundreds of low quality posters.

It's the worse campaign on the forum now Yobit has gone and I would support signature blacklisting if nothing changes as the spam is everywhere. I've messaged everyone involved with the campaign about the issues it's causing but I'm doubtful anything will change. The low rates coupled with little to no quality control is just being exploited by the worst sorts of posters.

It was probably made with good intentions but all it does is encourage/force users to post in threads they have no interest in. A user could be an expert in football gambling and talk about it all day but he's probably only going to make three posts in that thread then find something else to talk about because there's financial motive to do so. It would be much better to have people post about what they know rather than have them post only three times in one thread and that's probably what is inadvertently causing a lot of this spam but without more quality control and an overhaul of their campaign removing it would do little.

After adjustments months ago, started from that thread: Stake.com (SteveStake) is encouraging spam.. It seems that the latest changes on payrates likely a trigger of more spam.

Yes, this is most likely the root cause of why they have so many low quality posters in their campaign, and so few good posters.

It should be discuss, but with effects from the banwave (mainly due to unknown plagiabot activated in early days of May 2019), spammers have been wiped out considerably, and they will definitely be wiped out; I believe that spamming in the forum will naturally decrease.

As it is known by a decent number of people, the Stake.com signature campaign is causing some problems with the amount of spam and junk posts it is generating.

I had a little bit of free time today, and decided to put this into numbers.

As some have complained about, there is no public spreadsheet with stake signature campaign participants, so it is difficult to know for sure who is in the campaign. For the purposes of this thread, I am assuming anyone who submitted an application, and is currently wearing a signature that contains "stake.com" they are in the campaign. There were only a small number of participants who it is apparent were not immidiately accepted into the campaign, and this mostly appears to be because of missed applications.

To obtain the number of posts have been deleted written by each forum member, I used bpip.org, and the data is starting from whenever they started keeping track of the number of deleted posts, presumably approximately a year ago.

Based on the above, there are 173 participants in the stake signature campaign.

In regards to merit, the stake signature campaign has not attracted very high merit posters:
Of Stake.com signature campaign participants:
Average Merit: 9.74566474
Median Merit: 3
Number of participants with:
Above 20 Merit: 22 12.17%
Above 30 Merit: 15 8.09%
Above 50 Merit: 5 2.89%
Under 5 merit: 106 61.27%
1 or less merit: 69 39.88%

The stake.com signature campaign participants have had a lot of posts deleted:
Of Stake.com signature campaign participants:
Average number of deleted posts: 11.9017341
Median number of deleted posts: 6
Number of participants with:
Above 5 deleted posts: 87 50.28%
>10 deleted posts: 52 30.05%
> 50 Delete posts: 10 5.78%

I am not sure what the circumstances were in regards to why these people had their posts deleted. For example, if they had an active sales thread open for a long time and forgot to delete some old bumps, it might not be a huge deal to have some posts deleted.

I did not run the names of who applied for their signature campaign up against users who are currently banned, however while looking through their signature campaign thread, I saw many users who had their signature blanked out, which is an indication the person may be permabanned. I did not keep track of the number of these people, but I would estimate a solid 20-30 users had their signature blanked out who had applied to participate in the stake.com signature campaign. (I would estimate this would make up about 15% of the number of participants).

I also have many anecdotal examples of people wearing stake.com signatures either posting nonsense, or posting something that clearly indicates they have not read the thread, and their posts have not been removed as of when I read their posts.

Based on the above, I think some, or all of the below should happen:
*Stake.com signatures should be banned/disallowed/blacklisted for a period of time -- this is based on both the high number of deleted posts spread among many wearing the stake.com signature, and the high number of people who applied for the stake.com campaign who are apparently permabanned now.
*Those who are currently wearing stake.com signatures should be cross referenced against those who are currently banned to check for ban evasion -- this is based on the high percentage of participants who have earned zero or a single merit, which I believe to be an indication of farmers.
*The merit history of the below people should be reviewed for possible abuse, based on the below numbers.
*The below people should be considered for a temp/perma ban, if they have not previously been banned for low quality posts + paid signature AND have not subsequently had a large number of their posts deleted

Needs to be reviewed for merit abuse:
Bitinity merit received: 56 | Posts deleted: 29
LUCKMCFLY merit received: 40 | Posts deleted: 51
Haunebu merit received: 34 | Posts deleted: 30
cryptjh merit received: 23 | Posts deleted: 35
alisafidel58 merit received: 26 | Posts deleted: 32
r1a2y3m4 merit received: 19 | Posts deleted: 22
CryptoBry merit received: 39 | Posts deleted: 29
jake zyrus merit received: 21 | Posts deleted: 26
Yatsan merit received: 40 | Posts deleted: 94
Adriano2010 merit received 40 | Posts deleted: 94

Needs to be reviewed for a temp/perma ban:
blockman Posts Deleted: 42
mrdeposit Posts Deleted: 45
Bitinity Posts Deleted: 29
steampunkz Posts Deleted: 54
LUCKMCFLY Posts Deleted: 51 (should be in below list if there is merit abuse)
xvids Posts Deleted: 42
Haunebu Posts Deleted: 30
Adriano2010 Posts Deleted: 56
lyks15 Posts Deleted: 93 (should be in below list if there is merit abuse)
cryptjh Posts Deleted: 35
alisafidel58 Posts Deleted: 32
Ximoandali Posts Deleted: 28
CryptoBry Posts Deleted: 29
Yatsan Posts Deleted: 94 (should be in below list if there is merit abuse)

The following people should be reviewed for a permaban, and should be permabanned unless there are some kind of special circumstances (such as many of their deleted posts are old bumps, or other posts that are not "spam"):
Catmurs Posts Deleted: 127
Akshat21 Posts Deleted: 110
okala Posts Deleted: 64
furylmz Posts Deleted: 58
Carrelmae10 Posts Deleted: 56

Deleted posts are deleted by moderators.

corrected above lists to match information from my spreadsheet

Edit: June 14// removed request to have Stake signatures blacklisted. I do think checking for ban evasion, merit abuse, and ban review for those who had many posts removed is still appropriate.
