I wonder if the parents of those pre schools in New York are even Bitcoin or crypto holders, or earn their wages in Bitcoin/crypto.  I just don't get it.  Why waste them on getting your kids to school when holding them could potentially make you more money and potentially get your kid some sort of trust fund.

I wonder too, why spend good and sound money if you can save it and spend fiat, I will like to know the percentage of fee is being pade in Bitcoin.

This is a great public for Bitcoin and Altcoins

Thinking about it, at the present price of Ethereum (yes they also accept it), it's a good value proposition to get your kid's education at the current state of the ETH market.  Sooner or later ETH will crash.  The appcoin, ICO model that got its value where it is today is just not sustainable.  It may rise in price still, but it doesn't mean the model is flawed.  If you were lucky enough to buy it at low low prices, it's time to slowly switch to BTC or spend it for real world stuff like your kid's education.

But I'm biased.  I'm pro ETC.  So think and judge for yourself.  Wink

Well, it looks like Dogecoin beat everyone to become the first ever government backed cryptocurrency.  Check out Vladimir Putin congratulating Dogecoin's CEO in the link above.  Litecoin has no chance, even with Charlie Lee going in deep to focus on LTC.  Grin

The blog about Monero was cool, but possibly the blogger is in it for speculation mostly, and not about the 'project's values'.  Ethereum threw their values out the window awhile ago, yet he supports that.

There's nothing wrong with that.  But it's good to know when you are scamming yourself or not.  I personally have no moral objections in the zero sum game that is trading.  We're trading for money.  It's as simple as that.

Hey guys, here's is the (bi) weekly update.

I was expecting Litecoin to be on its way to the moon by now after activating Segwit but it fell a bit and its stalling.  What are we missing here?

In other news, Willy Wu tweeted the need for governance on the protocol level and could be seeing that Dash is on the right track.  Is this gonna be the new trend in crypto?  There's a new project out there developing this sort of thing...  Grin

Enjoy the updates!

Here's a quote that made me interested on Aeon.

Quote
aeon is a real world testnet for monero. aeon has been testing monero's pruning code for nearly a year now

How are the developers at Aeon doing with the 'pruning code'?  Is it even going anywhere?  I feel really if there was a very efficient and a really effective way to prune the blockchain, the devs of Bitcoin should have developed one by now.  But if Smooth and the rest do figure it out, it would be a god-send.  Good luck to them.

Interesting development on Litecoin.  This could be a start of a whole new trend where Bitcoin developers start flocking to Litecoin with their tech and their wares to continue development of the second oldest cryptocurrency.  IF Segwit is activated that is.  There are rumors that the the anti Segwit Chinese miner Jihan Wu is taking the battle to Litecoin as well by giving it's own mining pool more hashing power to deny Segwit activation.  Interesting times for crypto...

Btw, the article on Monero is a good read.

There have not been that many updates on the Proof of Work currencies listed in the OP which make me question if some (actually one) of them could be considered 'dead'.  Yep, I'm talking about Dogecoin.  From a development standpoint, is Dogecoin dead?  I don't think there's anything more in store for it unless it joins the Segwit bandwagon like VTC and VIA.

And how is their community after throwing their Founder, Jackson Palmer, out after exposing the Moolah scam.  He was actually trying to help but none believed him.

There's not much updates in the POW coins for the past two weeks, I deliberately skipped a week of updating last week because there wasn't any interesting new content about them out there worth posting.

Anyway the blog by David Vorick seems interesting.  I'm not sure if it's really possible because most of the people in the cryptocurrency/blockchain space talks out of their asses a lot.  So I'm gonna ask around and see what's really up with that one.

Hey guys, here is this weeks updates.  I really hate it when I miss a big move in trading.  In this case it was Dash.  I saw the signals and I ignored, thinking it will be one of my recent trades where I profited really small, broke even or lost small.  And with Bitcoin still surging past ATH, I'm more biased to take on more short positions than long.  I was wrong.  I wish I was more open that anything can happen.  Congrats Dash holders.

Well that's it for this week's updates.  I'm quite surprised that Segwit activation in Litecoin is showing low percentages.  I thought that one was in the bag according to what Charlie Lee was saying a few weeks ago.  The impression I had was the LTC miners responded positively with the upgrade and will therefore cooperate.  So what's with the hold up?  Anybody know?

And I will be adding Zcash later in the list.

I'm particularly excited with Litecoin's activation of SegWit.  Let's see what comes out of it if it does get activated and comes their implementation of LN later.  An interesting twist would be if Blockstream starts testing their LN wares on Litecoin on a production level.  a fine example of the Bitcoin Mining Industry shooting themselves on the foot.
