Gambling is as same as gaming in term of addiction. So if a person is bad at controlling own activities and bad at make plans, schedule and follow them, that person should not gamble or play game. It's better to don't start because it is a good prevention that is better than cure.

Addiction is not easy to end and most of people get addicted will struggle to get rid of addiction. The pandemic and money printing from governments give people more free money. Quarantines, lockdowns give them more time indoors and they have more time to expose to gambling. No stat but I guess they played games or gambled more since the pandemic.

I disagree with any people who consider gambling as a ticket to get richer and to become millionaires or consider it as source of their main income. Gambling is for fun first and in order to make sure if you don't have fun, you don't have terrible ending, you must spend spare money which is small part of your capital, for gambling.

Don't borrow, don't bet all your life into gambling!

See the thing is, this is the time when people are not financially stable and this is also the time that they are gambling the most. If you want to make money out of gambling then you are already putting yourself at a disadvantage because it's rare to really make money from gambling, you will end up miserable with everything gone because the house edge always wins, you don't need to experiment or try to prove it, but if you want to be entertained and only spend allocated funds that you can afford to lose, you are safe and you can enjoy the game more and if you are lucky you can bring home a good winning.

Well to make it short, the biggest pro is definitely that, if you are lucky, then you can make money with, depending on how lucky you are or how much you are willing to bet you can even win life changing amounts of money and that is probably the reason why a lot of people are attracted to gambling or to sports betting. As the first sentence already implies, you can also be unlucky and lose your money. That means it is up to you how much risk you are willing to take. Going all in and risk it all for a life changing win but risking it also that you lose your life savings, or just play with small amounts here and there and if you lose it doesn't really matter. I'm definitely in the second group.

In some way, gambling helps to socialize. As all the players behind the table are like your friends, with who you play against a casino. But the price of this socialization is really high.

This socialization applies to offline casinos but its the best to find new connections. This at least will help you earn some friends hoping they are not going to influence you to go deeper into the vice. Sinking deeper into gambling addiction could be one of the prices of this socialization so that's a two-way lane either pros or cons.

I think there are more cons to gambling. When a person allocates a certain amount so he/she could visit a local casino, it's not good.

For entertainment then provably they can always gain advantage knowing how fun to play on various site but you still need to be in control to not lose any huge amount since this will never be fun if that situation will happen you also winning a huge amount will just be a bonus after that. But as discuss for people who seek profit maybe they cannot get that here since imagine how huge the risk for playing plus if we became greedy then most provably we lose our money here since the chances to lose is bigger than to win.

In general they know the risks involved in gambling, losing and winning are two factors that are always present in gambling.

Talking about the pros and cons in the world of gambling, the same way we talk about sharks in the sea, don't swim in this sea there are sharks, but people still dive and swim, that's why even though there are pros and cons, challenges, beauty, fun and enjoyment, basically lust.

I will start with a lot of cons if you don't manage to control yourself or lose control of yourself.You risk addiction,can't think clearly and all you think is gambling,if you get these symptoms it means you are ill and need a really quick treatment in order to be healthy again.

Having said that,the thing I like the most if we manage to control ourselves is that when we are playing slot machines there is that chance of 1:100000000000 to win a huge jackpot or to win a really big amount of money,that is what keeps me coming back and playing little money every month,I try to change my life this way although knowing chances are the same as that number above,hope dies last.

better to lay down that the disadvantages of gambling are far far greater than its advantages. people might get the wrong idea about gambling. a healthy discussion between the pros and cons of gambling is the best way to do it, talking only about the positive side of gambling would create a false image about it.

And yet we still choose to gamble and take the risk, maybe because it was due to the psychology of gambling and human nature to be a risk taker and put everything in the line and try our luck.

Nevertheless, gambling has its risk, chances of winning are very slim and we all know that.

You have listed some of the pros and cons in gambling already as losses and profit are part of it. What is more is that both the negative and positive both have effect on the player. If the gambler is consistently losing and his life savings is gone, it can lead him or her into depression and depression can lead into other forms of habit that will further worsen the already bad situation, excessive taking of alcohol can be developed , smoking hard drugs also and other illicit dealings of frustrated personality. Also with profiting in gambling, the joy of additional money depending on how much is involved could lead you on euphoria of uncontrollable action that may cause accident especially if you are driving. It is better to do things in moderation.

This subject has been discussed several times in the forum, in different sections even. And I believe many are well informed by such, and people in general know the consequences of indulging with oneself with gambling. Aren't it was always cons outweighs the pros? Well, that's how I put it, most of the time even if we say we are just into it for the leisure we can't deny the fact that we sometimes get hooked on it. The most prone cons are you gonna bury yourself with loans and you don't find any way to pay it back just because you lose it all in playing overnight or a week. Gambling is not pure evil but it has more cons than pros. you need to be careful and have complete control of your emotions when you lose your money in a single play. because when you start to spend the money that should not be used for gambling, that's the start of the problem and only a few can stop themselves when something like that will happened.

I agree with you that most of the regular gamblers are probably near the breakeven point. They didn't win much and they didn't lose much either. Many casino games are close to a 50% win chance. There will be swings in between but on average most gamblers will be in the center of the distribution. As for the tails, the number of people who got rich through gambling or lost it all is small. That's why I wouldn't count becoming rich as a big pros argument for gambling. For me the pros are having an opportunity to play games in the evening now from home. I am not so much into shooters or other traditional games anymore. Gambling provides a nice alternative.

The pros and cons of gambling has been discussed in this section for several times already.
Now, talking about disadvantages and advantages of gambling, I don't see more advantages except the fact that gambling is for leisure and for uncertain profit.
The rest is a lot of disadvantages.
The only time that gambling is more of an advantage than a disadvantage to you is when you're professional in that field, meaning you're paid to gamble.

This is a choice by the person playing. If you know that you are being reckless with your action, I think you should accept that it is a part of you, and you need to do something about it. You can't keep doing it repeatedly without understanding the whole picture of what's happening to you. No matter what happens, even if you laid out all the pros and cons of gambling, it's still up to the person to understand the risk and results that may happen. I think it's always a matter of willpower to do what is necessary.

Why people bets? Just a little percentage of player are here for "fun". This should be the real and only PRO.
PLAY FOR FUN! But the vast majority are trying in all the way to earn money.
In this case if you don't have enough experience in gambling you're just going to waste all of your money. Before a player can earn money he should to play A LOT including loss a lot of events unless he is lucky enough to get a random big win.
