"to be or not to be, that is the bitcoin"

And besides, it's only a matter of time before we get confirmed news from sources that the governments of the world will imprison anyone who holds bitcoin. Really, I'm just looking out for myself.

? lol ?

confirmed news from sources

^^ best part.

i bet its the btc-e troll box

No way, didn't you hear, it already started! The FBI already imprisoned DPR and about 30 more people that held bitcoin; other countries will soon follow lead Cheesy

yep, I saw those confirmed sources too... very worried about all this... have lost my private key now actually but still...

Is it plausible to say that although blockchain and bitstamp could prove that I have had bitcoins I currently don't have any because I accidentally lost the private keys?

Actually interesting how that would go in court. While with physical cash there always is some recepient (nobody would buy the "I burned it"), but "I lost the PK in hd crash" is quite a possible scenario now. Just present a broken notebook.

Holy shit. I don't want to go to jail! What should I do?

Hmm, let me talk to Satoshi and Matonis and I'll get back to you on that.

Yeah, there's this strange habit of people who are known to have lots of bitcoins, suddenly claiming they donated a bunch and lost a bunch and gave away a bunch and now have far less than they originally had.

Very convenient! Almost as if they worry the IRS is reading their forum posts ;-)

Just say "boating accident."

It's not the first time proudhon bets against bitcoin. I hope he has learned a lesson.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/proudhon-owes-adam-10-btc-200663

Thankfully, Adam generously let me off the hook for that one. There was another one, if I recall, that I ended up paying out on, But I'm a little afraid to go digging around.

Indeed. It's a good thing you got rid of that hot potato before you had to actually pay someone to take it from you! We all know that is coming sooner rather than later!

Then, be honest and send it back to him, the price didn't yet cross the 1000$ on bitstamp/btc-e.

In 2013? Of course it did!

Yes, it definitely did a month or so ago. And, I meant to pay him back then but I just forgot in the shuffle of the holidays and a busy work schedule.

Seriously guys, please lay off of him about sending it back. He hasn't hassled me about it, he's been patient about it, and I just want him to have it.

It's not the first time proudhon the fictional character Proudhon plays bets against bitcoin. I hope he has learned a lesson.

FTFY. Proudhon has so many bitcoins he likes to be generous and throw away a few in good fun! Smiley

That's the least you can do

Lol... well you are stupid if you pay, i think there are servies online that can handle such bets, but doing so just in a forum seems stupid.

Anyone who thinks Proudhon is stupid for keeping his word is a man not trust... or make bets with.

A man is only as good as his word. You should write that down.

Sent OP a PM.  Genuinely forgot about this.  He sent me an address a few months ago, but I need him to confirm that I can still use that one, or give me a new one, before I ship my last bitcoin off.  Once this one is gone I won't have anymore, plus I'm short on margin since it's clear bitcoin is done.

You are a realy good entertainer. Even better than Walsoraj! So if Bitcoin is done, don't worry. You can earn a lot of money with your entertainment-talent.

Is he trolling or he might be right?

He is playing a character. That doesn't mean everything he says can't come true. I wouldn't bet against Bitcoin though.

Very nice to see someone keep his word.

I´ve seen several proudhorn´s posts with very bad comments about bitcoin, my question:

Is he trolling or he might be right? i usually don´t post here, but don´t know what to think

You don't see this sort of stuff around here very often.

Despite your bearish stance on Bitcoin, you're a top bloke  Wink
