Japanese blockchain system integrator LCNEM to work with ProximaX on Cosmos integration

Sirius Chain, a derivative of the Catapult blockchain project developed by Tech Bureau Inc., will soon be part of the Cosmos realm.

LCNEM, our new system integrator based in Japan, will work with us on crystalizing Cosmos integration, and enlarging the coverage of ProximaX Sirius as part of the Cosmos interoperability solution.

Connecting blockchains is at the heart of interoperability and Cosmos is designed to facilitate it. Integrating Sirius Chain with Cosmos would greatly enhance our scalability, and bring with it the ability to exchange assets with other blockchains within the Cosmos network.

“ProximaX is the first and leading Catapult powered project which rolled out its Sirius mainnet earlier in September. We are excited to partner with LCNEM, a proponent of Catapult. Cosmos will add a further dimension to the Sirius platform as we continue to evolve this world class enterprise solution development platform,” said Lon Wong, CEO of ProximaX.

LCNEM, being familiar with the Catapult technology, which is developed by the original developers of the NEM mainnet, is able to quickly pick up on the inner workings of Sirius Chain. LCNEM will have a holistic and enterprise-grade solution for the Japanese market, as the ProximaX Sirius platform further enhances the power of Catapult technology by integrating distributed and decentralized storage, streaming and Supercontracts. As well as contributing to the development of Catapult technology via the ProximaX Sirius platform, LCNEM also plans to develop vertical system solutions and applications.

“The holistic infrastructure of the ProximaX Sirius development platform will make building solutions using Catapult technology simpler and faster, reducing time to market,” said Yu Kimura, CEO and CTO of LCNEM. “With the addition of interoperability with other chains, especially with Cosmos, we expect interest from the Japanese developer community to grow. We believe the platform architecture and interoperability will enable high performance and scalability.”

The power of the ProximaX Sirius development platform is its ability to keep expanding its service layers horizontally, without burdening the performance of the network. As a matter of fact, as it expands horizontally with more service layers, it will continue to scale in its performance and offerings. Lon Wong further said, “We had a ‘world computer’ in Ethereum as the first generation. That quickly proved to be sluggish as it scaled. Today, we have a next-generation highly scalable ‘multi-layered world computer’, and indeed the first of its kind.”

LSE ReCode Tech Conference

ProximaX was honoured to be part of the LSE ReCode Tech Conference 2019 organized by the London School of Economics alumni in Kuala Lumpur last week.

The inaugural conference, which was attended by Dame Minouche Shafik, Director of the LSE and former the Deputy Governor of the Bank of England was aimed at providing a platform for LSE alumni corporates to explore corporate innovation with a special focus on fintech and blockchain.

Sue Ng, Director of Global Marketing and Communications moderated a panel discussion titled, “Shaping the 4th Industrial Revolution with Blockchain”. The panel comprised of experienced blockchain leaders from Malaysia including Mark Pui from MW Partners, Reuben Yap, COO of ZCoin and our very own Lon Wong, CEO of ProximaX.

The panel discussed how blockchain technology will impact 4th Industrial Revolution (“4IR”). Lon and Mark explained that blockchain will be an invisible core player in this era of technological revolution. Lon further said that a blockchain-powered technology stack such as ProximaX Sirius would be a good development platform to complement 4IR.

The panel also highlighted a dearth of talent in the country and that in order to support 4IR it is imperative for Malaysia to develop talent locally.

ProximaX and two of its partners, BESC and Abundent also set up booths at the conference’s Houghton Street Tech Showcase which was visited by many of the 200 plus conference attendees.

Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain: a Perfect Match!

ProximaX hosted their new system integrator, Abundent, and guests at the ProximaX Accelerator Centre for a discussion on how artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain can work together.

Blockchain is a distributed and decentralized ledger of transactions that uses cryptography and encryption for data security, integrity, and immutability. On the other hand, AI with machine learning (ML), makes use of a series of algorithms to learn from a vast resource of data to help make decisions.

Blockchain being a repository of transactions and data makes it an appropriate environment for ML to perform data analytics on-chain. Coupled with distributed storage, ProximaX Sirius presents itself as a very powerful platform to coexist with AI/ML.

KSports Lab announces its first collaboration with ProximaX Sirius platform in sport gaming

HONG KONG / MALAYSIA - KSports Lab (“KSL”), the developer of KS Football, a pioneering blockchain sport battle game that is reinventing the collectible cards experience for football (soccer) fans announces its collaboration with ProximaX and the use of XPX as a new currency in the game.

KS Football has a simple and exciting entertainment gameplay based on auctions, trades, and battles. Players are invited to build a portfolio of digital illustrated sport cards which are loaded onto the blockchain as tokenized contracts. Each card is a unique illustration inspired from a team or player of major football leagues. Game players earn rewards from the performance of card counterparts during the football season. Cards can be acquired through weekly auctions, trading, and giveaway sessions. In addition, players can challenge each other in battles based on a card counterpart’s live games. During battles, players can steal opponent card tokens and earn points to rank well on the leaderboard while receiving fun and collector rewards.

KS Football also proposes an innovative marketplace to trade card tokens. The platform enables football fans to become "shareholders” of a card linked to their favourite team while earning part of the rewards based on the team's performance.

Under this collaboration, KS Football which was originally built on the NEM v1 blockchain, will be migrating their solution to the ProximaX Sirius platform which is developed on top of the Sirius Catapult blockchain, a second iteration of the original NEM blockchain. At the same time, XPX, the native token of the ProximaX blockchain project will be added in KS Football’s games.

ProximaX Launches Its Mainnet!

WHAT IS A MAINNET AND WHAT IS ITS SIGNIFICANCE?

A mainnet is usually an open-source blockchain project that has a peer-to-peer connected network of multiple computer servers known as nodes. The function of this mainnet is to enable the transfer of digital assets between parties. Hence, a mainnet is simply the main network where actual transactions take place on a distributed ledger.

It is a much-anticipated and significant milestone for any blockchain project and is often preceded by several testnets. Testnets can be likened to being a prototype of a mainnet, utilizing the same technology but in a simulated environment. In a testnet environment, digital assets have no real value outside the test environment, unlike the mainnet, where transactions conducted using the project’s native digital asset have real economic value. In short, a mainnet can be deemed as the production rollout of a public blockchain project.

THE PROXIMAX MAINNET LAUNCH

Since our inception in March 2018, our core developers have been focused on building a working blockchain network. We began running our prototype blockchain in November last year and after significant testing, improvements, and tweaking within this sandbox environment, we are delighted to announce that the ProximaX genesis block was created today, 25th September 2019.

ProximaX Enters China

Strategic Partnership with Hurricane Ecology to boost storage availability for ProximaX ecosystem

SHENZHEN, CHINA - ProximaX has signed a strategic partnership with Hurricane Ecology, a China-based blockchain project that is building an intelligent ecosystem and infrastructure for video data storage, data processing and application development.

Led by a cohort of technology experts comprising technopreneurs, technology evangelists, and scientists, Hurricane Ecology envisions that its proprietary model of storage technology will change the default protocol of data storage and streaming in the future. From the onset, Hurricane Ecology has mapped out a strategic framework that can propel early adopters forward through its Hurricane Storage, Hurricane Data Processing System, Hurricane Public Blockchain, and Hurricane Incubator. It has also identified the DDSN (Decentralised Delivery Streaming Network) as the protocol alongside blockchain, artificial intelligence, edge computing and data security to deliver its video storage technology aspirations.

“China has indeed come a long way. In less than two decades, Chinese tech companies have gone from “nohow” and playing catch-up to now leading the global tech arena in areas beyond many tech critics’ imagination. For us, to have this strategic tie-up is both an honour and a privilege,” said Lon Wong, founder and CEO of ProximaX.

Under this collaboration, Hurricane Ecology and ProximaX will jointly explore the utilization of Hurricane Ecology’s network storage capacity, storage hardware and storage facilities across China. This will avail data space and nodes to ProximaX engineers, system integrators and tech partners. Hurricane Ecology’s added InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) could double up as ProximaX’s public chain and to that end, becomes a one-stop high-performance DApps development platform for developers to build applications on.

“We welcome ProximaX with open arms as we both share a unified vision to propagate blockchain usage to the world due to its many advantageous features and factors,” said Can Zhang, CEO of Hurricane Ecology. “I look forward to a mutually beneficial future together and it is my hope that with ProximaX onboard, it will inspire our engineers to work harder as we now have real use cases coming on board sooner than we can anticipate.”

Hurricane Ecology already owns 20,000m2 of operational data centres in the Jiangsu and Henan provinces with six more similar data centres under construction in Anhui, Hubei, Shandong, Xinjiang, Shanghai, and an additional one in Jiangsu. More are in the pipeline as Hurricane Ecology has also secured government approval for more sites to add on to its impressive stable of data centres. The strategic agreement was signed between Hurricane Ecology’s Can Zhang and ProximaX’s Lon Wong in conjunction with the Hurricane Ecology-organised “2019 Global IPFS Innovation Development Summit and Hurricane Ecology Press Release” held on 18 August 2019 at Shenzhen Hilton Hotel, China, co-sponsored by Hong Kong Blockchain Association and supported by China Commodity Association, Asian Blockchain Association and ONE.TOP Rating.

What sence is in this project if this is just a copy of NEM? (even logo is the same as has NEM blockchain project).

Quote
ProximaX leverages NEM technology to provide private and public blockchain, enabling anyone to join and participate in the network. An incentivization mechanism will be implemented to encourage more users to join and participate in the network.

Why do we need this project?

It's not just a copy of NEM. We use NEM Catapult as our core. We've added storage, streaming and supercontracts to NEM Catapult. We are using NEM Catapult technology, like some other projects.

And why do you need it? If you need more than blokchain (DLT) only, like storage, streaming or contracts. NEM is a blockchain, we offer more services.

But Catapult is not launched yet. As I know NEM going launch this technology in the end of this year only. So how can you use this if this still not exist?

Catapult was launched last year (May '18, https://github.com/nemtech/catapult-server/releases). We use this for our platform. NEM is going to launch Catapult as a public network. We (as ProximaX) are going to launch our public network as well (this includes Catapult, Storage, Contracts and Streaming.
