EPIC Westport, New Zealand now home to NEM Blockchain Hub



It was a memorable evening last Wednesday, 25th July 2018. ProximaX Founder and CEO, Lon Wong was invited to speak at the grand opening of NEM Blockchain Hub in the lovely town of Westport, New Zealand. In his speech, Lon expressed his delight at the way NEM is blazing the way to help communities, especially ones in the more rural areas to embrace blockchain technology and create job opportunities to become centers of growth and excellence.

Lon, who was a founding member and the first President of the NEM.io Foundation explained that ProximaX, which is an extension of the NEM Blockchain, would endeavor to hold the hands of local industries and government in adopting blockchain technology for an array of use cases such as medical health records, land registry, car registrations, identity records and archiving.



Other prominent speakers for this launch were the Hon. Damian O’Connor, Minister of State Trade and Export, Benjamin Dellaca, Founder & CEO of Cerebralfix / EPIC Westport, Caleb Yeoh, CEO of TravelByBit, and Jason Lee, NEM.io Foundation’s Expansion Director for Australia and New Zealand. We were also honored to have Chairman Andrew Robb, of the Regional Council and Mayor of the Grey District who was out of the country to address the guests at the launch via a pre-recorded video.

Many distinguished guests were present that evening, including Mayor Garry Howard of Buller District Council Mayors, Mayor Bruce Smith of Westland District, Council Members, representatives and leaders in the New Zealand Crypto and Blockchain Ecosystem such Cryptopia, Blue Block and Bitprime, and NEM representatives from Japan, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.

Lon Wong:
I've got a hunch that the boom is only starting now for blockchain tech, like dotcom.

Along with it, crypto will start to rise.

Companies associated with blockchain tech will be termed sexy like companies of the dotcom boom in the mid nineties.

Although it only attracted VCs and institutional funds then, it will have crypto boys in the game this time, making the bubble much bigger

Do understand that a forming bubble means it will get bigger. The bust of the dotcom bubble happened around the year 2000, more than 5 years after it started bloating.

Unlike the dotcom bust, the collateral win here is that crypto, like commodities and stocks, will undergo cyclical lows and highs. Bubbles will form, bust and re-form. It is here to stay, unless governments ban it totally.

Meanwhile, blockchain tech companies will come and go, and amidst the ashes from the fires of the "gold rush", an odyssey of phoenixes will rise.

Whatever we do, the frontrunning blockchain tech companies will be the winners throughout.

ProximaX is one company that we hope will become a front runner in the game and take blockchain tech play to a new level playing field.

In the next 6 months, we hope to achieve and unveil  those action plans that we recently crafted out to chart a new course in the landscape.

Yes ProximaX will be available to vote for in the next round of the community voting on binance. It might be a nice addition but I actually think it is not necessary right now. There are reliable exchanges to buy from and the listing would be a good combination with the launch of the product for example.

Soon a vote on adding a new coin to Binance. I heard that ProximaX will participate in the vote. I hope the voting will go well and ProximaX will manage to win. It will be excellent. Now, a good price to buy ProximaX.

Nice video once again tony! Yes the topic in here is quite empty for such a nice project especially if we keep in mind the quite high level of funding received during the ICO. The project is developing well and the telegram group is great as well, even though all plans are longterm.
I can only advise everyone interested to join the corresponding language telegram group and the main one.

Might be good to have the topic starter post some of the news in here too. Wallet, Kryptono, Multiversum partnerships. Great news these days
