I guess it is like a raffle when you have the chance to win it if you contribute in it by wagering and putting some balance in it like what informed in the chat.
Once the countdown timer end, maybe punt do a random draw to choose the winner of the freebies.
It seems that the more you put in the freebies and the more you wager, the higher chance for you to win it.
Although raffle is a common thing in gambling industry but I can say that the one in punt is a unique feature, never seen it before in other casinos (with the same/similar concept).

Users will also abuse a promotion or bonus of if they find out that they can get something without any risk. I've never heard of a promotion without any certain condition because if there is then it is likely from a scam gambling platform.

Let's say a well-known gambling platform really creates a promotion like that and the users found out that they could validly exploit it, either they lose a lot of money or lose reputation if they decide not to pay their users because of their mistake.

It did really make out some scene wayback about Bitlucy incident on where they do really end up on lots of issues because of non paid withdrawals and yes it was really about that bonus abuse.
Dont know if they hadnt set out some specific rules or wager requirement but the thing i do know that its been abused and they didnt able to compensate the amount which needs to be released.
I have seen their site design which i could say that it is really good to look at and the games offered plus the overall UI/UX is good but sadly they do end up on closing
due to those issues.

I was never interested in BitLucy casino, so I did not follow the whole drama, but I do not think they failed because of the free bonuses. I think it was because of the corrupt owner who lied to everyone, including their manager Royse. If the free bonus was hurting their casino, they could have simply stopped it, which I think they did not long after it was introduced. The real problems arose after the owner stopped paying or did not have the finances either for customers, or for staff, or for promoters they hired.
