Lottery is equal to gamble and it is more like to play on dice site to chase the bigger odds and winning chance is very smart, I also buying lottery tickets for National lottery of my country but it is just for fun, because I know that it is like to hit the jackpot and maybe I will not win the lottery entire into my life.

as far as i know, playing lottery is one of the gambling game but we sometime we do not realize it because its really fun. we bought for example 1000 lottery for cheap price and hoping that our number is out to be a winner.

if you ask will it be addictive? my answer is yes, if you only want to be a winner on that lottery. be careful, do not be so addictive. loss you money while you want and you can, and in the meantime, if you loss, don't regret it.

When you spend money in order to get more money and had a chance to lose it, it is called gambling and lottery is gambling, buying more ticket you give you bigger chance to get the prize but it doesn't mean that you are going to win it

Playing a lottery is like playing dice with extremely low odds of winning but high pay out.

I think it is less addicting though than real life lotteries. In real life, people often buy tickets every week because they don't want to risk not winning when their neighbour wins for instance (we have a postal code lottery, that one is really sucking people in for this reason).

Does it really matter if it is gambling? You obviously have some funds on a gambling site already, so that is not the problem I guess.

I think there are two definitions, can be regarded as gambling or not. and your case here only buy a ticket to expect prizes by lottery. I think this is not gambling.

Yes, it is still gambling, since it involves risking your money... Having many tickets is good, but it doesn't mean that you will be a sure winner, since it is like raffling numbers, no assurance of winning... Not that you will get addicted to it, it's more like wasting money...for sure, from time to time you will be buying tickets, hoping on your luck which I think is already a form of gambling...  Smiley

The more lottery tickets doesn't give you guarantee for sure, it can only increase your winning chance there because lottery result is depend on our luck, where outcome based on luck that is pure form of gambling, lottery can be a little bit different but it is very similar gambling.

lottery is the worst type of gambling. Unless there is some sort of lottery I dont know but from what i know every lottery has much worse
odds compared to the odds of actually winning.

Hello everyone, so I joined freebitcoin about a week ago, I can afford to buy around 500-1000 lottery tickets. But when I see last round the first winner has just 120 tickets but other winners got 10000+ tickets, if I buy around 1000 tickets, will it be worth and is it like gambling? Will it be addictive? Guys please tell me that lottery is second form of gambling or not?
of course it is gambling, remember that you are betting something for profit, so it means that you are gambling.

Playing the lottery is gambling no matter how you look at it.
The addiction question is different as that will depend on what type of person you are, some people just have an addictive personality and some don't so no easy answer to that question.

Lottery is also gambling because your buying tickets which gives you a chance to win the pot. It could be addicting to other users and for your last question yes we could say lottery is a second form of gambling. Adding this quote I got from a site about your question.

Quote
The second form of gambling is where payment is certain from one side, and uncertain from the other. The one paying for certain is actually staking his wealth, in that it may bring more wealth or it may be lost totally. This is probably the most widespread type of gambling and has many different forms.

obviously playing lottery is gambling too and also it would make you become an addicted because as you say that for the first try you had already lost and now you may to try again with buying more a lot of tickets and without you realize that this is early symptoms of addiction

Yup, it's totally gambling and can be as addictive as any other form of gambling.   I'm sure you've seen these poor saps in the gas stations scratching off their lottery tickets.   Well it's even worse online and you can lose all your bitcoin a lot quicker.  Have fun but be very careful.

it is OP! you're buying lottery with btc and hoping you can win that lottery, after that, you'll buy more and try again. It's almost same like gambling (you're hoping win when you gamble). But i'm also don't understand how freebitcoin lottery works, it's just a little weird when see the winner just hold small amount of tickets.

Lottery is gambling, and chances to win there are less then 1 %. Did I said 1 %, better to say 0.0000001 if you are playing some high paying lottery with lot of participants. Lotteries on National level with first prize in millions. Chances with one ticket are very, very low.
I don't like lottery, and I never played lottery. For me there is other games where I can use my skills to win something, lottery is just waiting.
I heard about people who buy more then one ticket for lottery, and every ticket with some new combination. And in the end guy who bought one ticket win. This game is not for me, I like to control thing around me as much as possible.

Gambling has very simple definition where money involve and we have risk to lose it than no doubt it is just a gambling, that is why I'm pretty sure lottery is form of gambling where we lost our money same like playing on casino games, for some people putting money is very attractive and it can be addictive.

buying more tickets will only give you higher chance of winning but still there is no guarantee, no one can even say that freebitco.in's lottery is provably fair. personally i see that feature as just another thing to catch bitcoin users attention but no one really wins on that unless someone provide here proof that he got the prize from there
