It has been sorted. Just some kid DDoSing Masternodes - can happen to any network.

Some DDoS going on - guess we're doing something right  Roll Eyes

you cant DDoS a cryptocurrency network, there's no central servers to attack and the -code- doesnt have a DoS

(and if it -did- it would absolute mean you ARENT doing something right, because you would have added that)

I do not understand how it happens? Can anyone spamming the network? If so, this is a very big problem right from the start. It is necessary to fix it. Otherwise, when the popularity of the problems increase.

This did not affect the collateral though (see code).
With tor onion masternodes this is less likely to happen though

Someone thought it would be a smart idea to DDoS masternodes on the network - to try and drop collateral we suspect. Obviously, someone didn't read the code before making that decision and they gained nothing... Smiley

Same goes for our poor one-page website, though.

New wallets that should mitigate future issues will be released soon (and MN setup script will get an update, too!)

We might be changing to more frequent payments along with less votes required soon, though !

how about :

- make torrentsubmit the ONLY way to earn money
- reward ALL torrent after a month UNLESS a MN holder voted that it is shit

this way you remove all the dumb passive income users that arent doing shit for the coin
AND get a torrent database even -worth- mentioning

I personally like it, and I'll pass it on to the main dev who would then put it for vote @ discord community.
But MN holders and PoS stakers need to earn too (for their investment and contribution to the network)
Let's see Cool

On the one hand, not to reward those who did not vote correctly from the point of view of the community; on the other hand, this is too much centralization of power. It turns out that investors who have many assets in portfolios including yours may simply not get anything due to the fact that it is impossible to monitor and participate in all projects.

So far the majority of the people who own MNs are actually enthusiasts of the purpose of the coin!
although there are indeed a whole bunch who are purely in it just for the rewards/investment point of view...hence lowering the threshold of votes required might just be the way to go.

Just to clarify, anyone can submit links - not just MN holders
I assume you meant if investors don't participate in voting?

Exactly. Many investors buy and forget about buying for several months. So I sometimes do it simply. And this is a problem if it turns out those who do not vote but bought will not get anything.

What do you mean?
MN holders always get their share no matter what...so do people who only stake.

Submitting magnet links is a whole different eco-system.
You (anyone, doesn't have to be a mn owner or anything) can submit a link for 1 QMC,
and if it gets voted by mn holders as a good link to quality inforatmion - you get back 5 QMC!
Any average joe can post a link with just 1 QMC.

The majority of links right now were 'donated' by the way (see payout of 1 qmc in exchange for 1 qmc), by a community member who never expected them to get voted but wanted to provide some content Smiley

Thanks for the explanation now everything is much clearer. In this case, you are all right and most importantly honestly done. You need to take an example from other companies on the blockchain that they like to do as it is beneficial for the co-founders of the company.

but note that he also didnt get voted on , nor did he get the 1 QMC back

He/she didn't expect to Smiley
The 1 QMC investment per link is a measure to avoid spam on the network and also a way to earn QMC in the long term. An incentive for posting high quality content and information.

So far that is not really the case on our network Smiley

This is -totally- the case right now.

$ ./qmc-cli getbudgetinfo | grep 'Yeas\" : 0' | wc -l
2621
$ ./qmc-cli getbudgetinfo | grep 'Yeas\" : 1' | wc -l
5

out of the 2680 torrents that are currently inside the system, 2621 have not received a vote

i am highly convinced 99% of MN holders are MN holders for the passive income, not to handcheck ~3000 torrents per month to vote for each valid one.

So far that is not really the case on our network Smiley which actually makes us very happy.
You should check out the community at some point, even just for a glance!

Besides, some hold a large portion of MNs - and QMT allows to vote on multiple links
So if someone was feeling generous they could potentially just ctrl+a and vote. Then hope the bad ones get downvoted or reported to other MN holders..

Well some check magnets everyday and vote on them Smiley
it all depends on people, some are in it for rewards, some see the bigger picture
if you have great community then great things going to happen Wink
